  1. Another day has passed since the season finished and we are therefore another day closer to pre season and the new season. Feels like there is nothing to hold on to where Rovers are concerned. IMO, no discernible cause for hope and optimism. We have a manager who seemingly says, at best, he's unclear about his budget for player trading. Other clubs are selling ST's by the thousand and, seemingly, we haven't a feckin clue what to do. I think it's a total shambles and the fans are being treated like muppets. I think the fans deserve much, much better. If these are your best endeavours Waggott and Mowbray then I think it's time you both left the building.
  2. Don't talk nonsense. Mowbray says his priority is a goalie, he has a pot of money and, presumably, a list of options. There is absolutely no excuse. So Mowbray, IMO, fiddles as Rome burns. Wont make any other signings and nothing seems to be moving. To me, it doesn't add up.
  3. So, our season finished 12 days ago and a goalie is the priority. Why haven't we signed one!?!?
  4. Cocu and Rooney selling their managerial / coaching abilities and Derby County versus bumbling Uncle Tony. Think it's a no brainer!
  5. Are you being serious!?!? I don't know Rovers' staffing structure but I wouldn't have thought they have more than six devoted to ST sales at the appropriate time of year. That would be a wages' bill of less than £10k per month for the process of say 4,000 ST's yielding a minimum of £1million. It's a feckin no brainer! There are 'options' as RevidgeBlue has written below. Is there no one at Ewood capable of thinking!?!? I think the problem we have is the club is severely under-managed. I see neither nous nor initiative. IMO, there are too many at Ewood on the Venky's Express gravy train and they are far too comfortable. I think the club needs ripping apart from top to bottom on both the non playing and playing sides. We need bright, sparky people with a 'can do attitude'.
  6. Bottom six. IMO, you can sense we haven't a pot to p1ss in and our player trading will reflect this. Can anyone provide a slither of positive evidence that we are going to be even a half decent player in the transfer market!?!? Furthermore, IMO, we have a manager and coaching time who are well, well below par and that's being kind! I think Uncle Tony will have retired, with a big fat wallet, to his beloved Teeside before Christmas.
  7. IMO, as are Walton, Bennett, Bell, Williams, Smallwood, Johnson, Samuel etc and then we have the really expensive cr@p in Brerton and Gallagher. I am not at all convinced by Wharton but it's time for Mowbray to either sh1t or get off the pot and give the lad a chance or two or three!!! Surely, surely with the experience he got out on loan he can be no worse than Carter. In fact I'd put money on Wharton, over Carter, being able to earn a decent crust out of football. IMO, Mowbray only played Travis when he was desperate for numbers and had precious few other options and look what happened!
  8. A labourer is worthy of his hire. If you are a skilled CEO, you are able to manage your wage 'structure' and keep most folk happy. I think £millions have been poured down the toilet on likes of Smallwood, Bell, Hart, Bennett, Leutwiler and we've screwed up on a number of contract negotiations like Mulgrew's. The bottom line is what is any individual worth to the club. If they aren't happy with what you have to offer then show them the feckin door. IMO, some of the contract negotiations at Ewood have been ludicrous and shambolic. Cases in point, Mowbray himself, Mulgrew and contract extensions for Smallwood and Hart for extended season. As I've said before, IMO, Ewood is a nous free zone and we wont get anywhere until we have both a CEO and a football manager who can cut the feckin mustard.
  9. Armstrong to Watford - could see Watford being interested in a guy who's had a good Championship season. Chester - would be a good signing. Sadly, if Stoke and PNE also interested, don't think we'll be at the races. Etheridge - IMO, finance wise, way out of our league. As I've said before, think the bottom line is Mowbray needs to bring in a minimum of £10million in fees and save £5million+ on wages. I don't even think we are shopping at Home Bargains but sadly trawling the soup kitchens!
  10. Never seen him play. Told he reads the game well, makes good decisions and is brave and agile. From what I'm told, would be a big upgrade on Walton and Leutwiler.
  11. Family home is in Salesbury just down the road from Tony Parkes.
  12. White (NZ SB's), rose (Sancerre a nice lunchtime quaff), red (Barolo, CDP, Chat Margaux <for specials>, Rioja) - drink them all dependent upon time of day and food dish.
  13. I think there's an 80% chance within a week that you will be reading about a Championship club going into administration. As you clearly have all the answers, I'll let you spill the beans...............
  14. "and could revisit the European market once again with a French ‘keeper among those to have been tracked at this stage". Posted about this two or three days ago (and named him) and some dismissed as nonsense / random etc.................!!!
  15. Well, this transfer thread is already 91 pages long. It's going to be a long old summer and sadly, I think we'll be feeding off crumbs falling from someone's table. It's galling, frustrating and sad, however, at least the sun's breaking through and it's a glorious day tomorrow so I'm off for a pint or two, followed by a wine or two and a bite to eat.
  16. The lad is almost 23 and I think it's clearly time for Rovers to either sh1t or get off the pot where Wharton is concerned. For me, he isn't a Championship player.
  17. I think it's clear the lad isn't going to break through at City. At 22 and after two seasons' loans at WBA and Rovers, the lad's agent needs to do him a favour and find him a permanent deal somewhere.
  18. I don't think we have a pot to p1ss in. Think this is the new world, realise £10million / season, slash wages and sign frees and loans.
  19. The lad, IMO, will never been a top 6 PL player - at his age, he would have broken through by now. Let's face it, City aren't great defensively. If a club has the money, I think City will let himgo.
  20. Nonsense. I think Travis is light years away from Rice in ability terms.
  21. Don't think Mowbray will see any of the first £10million raised from player sales and I think he will be only allowed to reinvest 50% of anything over £10million.
  22. Burnley's finances based upon their last filed accounts are in pretty good order.
  23. Not previously heard of him but then again hadn't heard of Nzonzi.
