  1. Past hour
  2. If we fail to win this one then even the most positive of fans (yep, that one) will have to admit that we’re in deep doo doo.
  3. When do you ever feel positive after a game? It is a clear red card and its a clear penalty. How about the refs actually manage the game properly and stop favouring the big teams. The refs allow Ipswich to waste time far too much with these fake injuries. how is bringing on Cantwell embarrassing? Yes the home record needs to be better but yesterday was our best home performance so far this season, can you not see that?
  4. We're just a soft target aren't we? Away fans love coming to Ewood Park, it's always rated as one of the best away days in the football league. Nothing to do with Blackburn being a lively place to visit, it's because most clubs know they can have as many tickets as they want, up to 7000, and that the home crowd is so deflated, sparse and spread out around the big empty stadium that it's effectively like a home game for the away team. I get to about half of our away games and supporting us away from home has been so much more enjoyable in the last few years, even though we probably pick up fewer points on average (this season excluded).
  5. 3 more points to the should have tally. Should be premier league this time next year.
  6. The loss of home fans is everything about Venkys and the way this club has been systematically downgraded and dismantled, both on and off the field. However, your absolutely right, the home record and season upon season of conceding late, late goals and never coming from behind to win matches is another major factor for the sparse crowds and funereal atmosphere at Ewood.
  7. Yes just ignored the fact Ipswich should have been down 10 men and a clear penalty on Ohashi. But no surprise to me you do
  8. I think the Ipswich player who scored deserves some credit for dropping his shoulder and coming inside. In my opinion it didn't matter who was close to him, the same thing would have happened.
  9. Appointed at the beginning of March, we're now into December. This guy has managed 14 competitive matches at Ewood Park. We have won 3 of them. It's an aberration. During that time he's nodded along without complaint while his bosses have gutted the team of any experience and replaced players as cheaply as possible. One or two of the replacements look like they will make the grade (Alebiosu and Gudjohnsen), they'll probably be sold on as soon as possible at a profit. The majority are horrific and shouldn't be playing at this level Now people are loving this manager because he's waved a sheet of paper on TV and screeched about referees. 3 home wins in 9 months is all because of referees is it? I do and don't want him sacked, can't make my mind up. He's useless and taking us nowhere, but the clowns who appointed him would only appoint another mediocre yes-man.
  10. We can't do anything about them now only highlighting them and bringing them to the attention of the PGMO and I think those wheels will be in motion today. For me it's borne out of frustration because an inordinate number of key decisions have gone against us. I honestly don't see any harm in that.
  11. Pickering or Ribeiro are the obvious answers. If you're defending a lead you bring on capable defensive players, not a player whose only attribute is speed.
  12. My neighbour is a Wednesday ST holder. Reckons that their first 11 will give most sides a game and that they should have beaten PNE at the weekend. They have no strength in depth though, and suffer with inferior subs. Sounds familiar.
  13. All sides are impacted by the appallling standards. The good sides find ways to still win games. And I very much doubt that Ismael would be bleating as he is, if we were winning games.
  14. It will be one of the reasons home crowds continue to fall. Watching us under Venky ownership is soul destroying enough as it is, without adding hopelessness and anxiety to the closing stages of every match. When we finally got some respite from that under Eustace it was almost immediately torn away by the usual internal bickering and disagreements which led to us downgrading to Ismael.
  15. I think we're being a bit precious.. he's having a go. The fans love it. I can't see the harm tbh. I'd have that over many other ways the manager can handle it.
  16. That's a promotion for Pickering! (ridiculously).
  17. Ismael is bang on about how appalling the referring standards are now. Refs are mostly clueless at this level. How did the ref missed the blatant red card yesterday or Whiteman's challenge not being a red card by a PL ref? So who would you brought on?
  18. Absolute must win, they’ve won 1 all season and are a rag tag bunch. Fail to win and I’ll start to worry.
  19. With all the injuries we have and the need to carefully manage the players do you not have a problem with Ribeiro and Pickering not playing? We are lacking defensively, particularly in the final phase of the game but these 2 who played regularly (and well) in a team that finished 7th are never picked, not even as substitutes. Aren't we shooting ourselves in the foot!
  20. I actually thought both Tavares and Baradji grew into the game last night, Tavares has to be more alert when tracking a man but got a few good interceptions in and did ok further up the pitch. Gueye was odd he was at walking pace but I thought under instruction maybe to let them have it along their back line and not charge them down.
  21. Someone posted a link to a stat on X that read: "Make that 17 result-changing goals conceded after the 90th minute since the start of 2021/22 season to 4 scored."
  22. Szmodics fee the Raya sell on the second instalment of the Wharton fee There will also be bits from selling Gallagher, Wahlstedt, Ennis, & the Telalovic sell on
  23. Waggott still is according to reports. That's £400k down the toilet this season.
  24. Wont say that we will lose, but we find it more difficult against teams who are more content to be reactive, and who do not play out from the back (looking ahead to a week of Sheff Wed, Oxford, Portsmouth). Whereas teams who are more expansive, and invite us to press as they play out from the back (Leicester, Southampton, Ipswich twice) suit our style The above is only magnified in home games. This is not an excuse, Ismael needs to find a second way to play when teams do not allow us to use "plan a". Ismael generally sets us up well to start games, but seems to struggle to think on his feet and counter changes to the flow of the game. Almost invariably, his mid match changes (not just subs) make us worse
  25. One more thing: The fees we could receive based on team/player performance are currently just over £20 million, this has a caveat that they’re expecting to receive far less. Which players do we think most of this is attributable to?
