  1. Past hour
  2. I'm amazed Gardner-Hickman gets so much grief on here.
  3. You can only sell/loan players if you can find buyers. If Carter could be sold/loaned then fine, but given his struggles to stay fit, I do not feel we would find any takers. In that instance we are left with him here, as part of the squad, When fit, he is first choice in that right centre back role for me, but it would be madness not to insure against another likely injury
  4. Jet Harris And Tony Meehan - Diamonds
  5. In terms of bare additions, it's one extra body. Whether anyone brought in in January will make a difference or Ismael will like them once he gets them here, remains to be seen. Most of the players brought in in summer have had a negative impact imo.
  6. Out of interest what was the average away fans number for last season. A different supporter started this debate last night by somehow suggesting that paying suppporters were supporting Venky's with the implication that if more stopped going Venky's would leave. Your actual numbers suggest that is unlikely to happen as they are still here. Many supporters in the ground want them to leave. We need a united fanbase whether you attend or not without blame games, unsupported by evidence, being played!
  7. We cant keep stockpiling players. 6 is enough. Either you keep Carter and leave O'Riordan on loan, or bring O'Riordan back and either not buy one or buy one and sell/loan Carter out.
  8. I dont think the media have ever cared. Small Lancashire Town, small gates, must be because they aren't in the prem, will be most peoples thoughts. Most people just put us in a homegenous blob, indistinguishable from Burnley, Bolton et al. We will never get a full boycott, not even for a game. Everything thats happened in 15 years should be enough in most normal circumstances for the owners to leave. If people enjoy going, go for it, lifes too short, it doesnt mean they condone the way club is run. The only people who need to stay away from Ewood and fuck off and never come back are Suhail, Rudy and the Rao's (makes me laugh the same people who slag off fans for not attending, defend the owners, who havent been in over 10 years !).
  9. In numbers, it is enough, but when we factor in the injury records of Carter & Wharton, we need another. Assuming they both (Carter & Wharton) come back from injury in the New Year without their returns being delayed, it would be almost unbelievable to think that neither would be injured for at least a month or 2 later in the season, purely based on past history
  10. Hope Tronstad is back for this.
  11. Which is decent considering the last 15 years. Rovers clearly need new owners who care!
  12. So if Carter stay and we buy another that's 6 players for 3 roles? How is that not enough plus Ribeiro. Carter, Miller. New signing, Pratt, Wharton, McLoughlin
  13. The actual average attendance last season was 12,822, including away fans
  14. While our club is struggling under Venky's the average attendance last season was over 16 thousand minus away fans. Not sure how long it will take for the 'remaining few' to stop going! It will need organised action similar to that at Sheffield Wednesday.
  15. There were some positives from the game last night. Thought Morishita looked really good again and is fast becoming one of our best players. Good on the ball and has a good work ethic. Baradji looked good when he came on. Unlike most of our players, he has good technical ability and speed. Toddy head and shoulders above everyone else when he came on. He'll have certainly instructed his agent to get him a move next summer.
  16. Carter will stay, as he will not be able to find a buyer due to injury history If O'Riordan is not recalled, then another centre back is needed as well as the one that's already being brought in
  17. Will O'Riordan be recalled? Will Carter stay? Big questions there. Like Harris suggestion tbh.
  18. Pretty much a big game for both teams. Tough place to go to, Pompey will be up for this one. 3-0 rovers.
  19. Eh? Gueye barely plays and Pickering not in favour. A right wing back signing would back up Alebiosu. A centre back signing a starter A striker to.either start or bring off the bench A Tronstad replacement looking towards next season
  20. If Gueye & Pickering are the ones to leave, then that leaves you with a 27 man squad Toth Miller Wharton McLoughlin Alebiosu Baradji Tronstad Cantwell Hedges Gudjohnsen Ohashi Pears O'Riordan NEW Pratt NEW Henriksen NEW Morishita De Neve NEW Kargbo Carter Ribeiro Forshaw Tavares TGH Montgomery, Michalski, Atcheson, Litherland, Tyjon & Goddard do not need to be included due to their age, but Pratt does take up a squad space Personally as a winger doesn't fit into the current system, Kargbo would also be sold if possible, which frees up one more slot, but as he is not likely to be fit until January, this seems unlikely, so think he will be utilised as forth choice striker off the bench If they do not being back O'Riordan, then they need another centre back too Given Caters injury history, I think he will have to stay in January due to a lack of takers either on loan, or permanent I assume Garrett will not be in the first team squad this season (if he was, then he also takes up a space), and will spend the second half of the season regaining fitness on loan, or in the U21s I have a sneaking feeling that TGH will end up back at Birmingham as a squad player during January, and they will bring in a centre back, right wing back, and a striker in the Ohashi mould full of work rate and running, but not necessarily a goal threat, someone like Mark Harris from Oxford who is out of contract at the end of the season and therefore cheap, and on an "affordable wage". Given the above, the heir to Tronstad would have to wait until the squad is further culled in the summer Edit - not saying this is what we need, but think this is what we will get, looking at 25 man squad etc
  21. I wouldn't be surprised if where we are right now in the division is right on where we'd be in the first team wages table. Mostly in life or business you get more or less what you pay for.
  22. So essentially then, one addition to what we have already. You think that will make a difference?
  23. John Williams was always firmly of the view your finish in the table was roughly commensurate with the size of your wage bill in comparison to everyone else. I don't completely subscribe to that but by now our wage bill must be amongst the lowest in the Championship and that's exactly where we find ourselves.
  24. Most fees paid over the length of 3 or 4 year contracts meaning we've actually 'spent' far less and the rest will no doubt be covered by future sales. So the re-investment to date from the Wharton/Sammy sales etc is minimal.
