Pinch Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Chimbonda is a right back (which we don't have). You're correct. My mistake, but I know for a fact that Ramos has played him at left-back this year, and I'm pretty sure he was even playing left-back in the Carling Cup final. I don't have a problem with Emerton, but we could use a more polished right-back. Either way, Chimbonda wears tights, his attitude is @#/?, and he's overrated (that could be a song ).
Ronin Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 which is why he wouldn't be coming to us, just as well really.
Iceman Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I dont even think we should be allowing Chimbonda's name near this msg board, let alone our 1st team.i think Ooijer at right back is quite solid, however he gets done for pace far to often for my liking.we must surely have a decent young right back coming through the ranks.people i have spoken to in SA always says Rovers look to have a very good youth setup going.however i dont see much of those youngsters progressing quickly enough for my liking.here in Cape Town we have 15 and 16 year old boys playing for Ajax Cape Town in our professional league, and they certainly are maturing better as players.
Dunnfc Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Nicko - Regarding Flamini is it true he will be off to join AC Milan on £50,000 a week as oposed to the £20,000 he's on at Arsenal now? Apparently he stayed this year so he could grow his reputation so he could leave this summer to join someone bigger than a move to Birmingham last summer.

I don't know if those are the exact figures, but it is pretty much accurate to say he has let his deal run down to get away for nothing. Arsenal want shooting for letting this happen.

Lathund Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 That's surely an exaggeration. But at the same time he wasn't more than a backup player when he signed the deal, no? So probably wasn't on a whole lot of money.
EwoodGlory Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Any ideas of anything strange going on with the Accrington Stanley V Bury match tomorrow? On Betfair, League 2 games normally take under £1000, this match has £80,000 on it so far. Accrington Stanley 3.05 Bury 2.44 Draw 3.55 Bury are only 2 places above in the table, so a bit strange they are that price

nicko Posted May 3, 2008 Author Posted May 3, 2008 Latest amount staked...£97,000. Just looked at other League Two games...coming in at around £4,000 a game. Odd.
EwoodGlory Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 2 rumours I have seen about this. One being, Accrington playing a weakened team apparently. Plus the senior lads went on a stag night yesterday. second is that the retain list for next season has been leaked so potentially certain players getting released won't try etc. strange one considering people are laying on this. Some of the other bookies pulled the game last night, you can see this on oddscheckeer. Linkage £144,000 on betfair now. EDIT: £234k now I here from someone reliable that Asa Harford will be named the new Accy boss soon.
nicko Posted May 3, 2008 Author Posted May 3, 2008 Accrington Stanley 0 - 2 Bury FT The Football League were alerted this morning. The officials were changed before the game and BOTH clubs warned that there was to be a probe. We have not heard the last of this story...
Dunnfc Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Remember when we played Larisa the greek team in the Uefa cup and some of us said we liked the look of the little guy Cleyton well apparently an Olypiakos fan told me that themselves, Aek athens and an unnamed spanish club have been watching him very closely in the past few weeks. Well it got me thinking why arnt we having a closer look at this guy he was quality against us.

We have not heard the last of this story... Not surprised the league got involved, strangest betting I have ever seen. There was a post on the Betfair forum this morning, saying there would be a penalty to Bury. Can't see it anywhere now. Around £300,000 was done on Betfair. Reports of 4 and 5 figure bets in Liverpool. Talk up here that Newcastle have bid for Riise, any idea if it's true? Also reports in Italy that Flamini has signed a 4 year deal with Milan.

I have a Riise story in the morning. Plus a major Man U line. An interesting twist on the Sidwell front. And a Bolton departure. No Blackburn news - apart from the Chris Ronnie development.
Hughesy Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Any news on Valencia moving anywhere? 2 more goals for him today.
nicko Posted May 3, 2008 Author Posted May 3, 2008 Any news on Valencia moving anywhere? 2 more goals for him today. Man U are interested, with Liverpool hovering - they like him more than Bentley. Wigan will sell but want loads.
Hughesy Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Diouf wouldnt be a bad signing you know. I know everyone hates him, but i think he is like Savage in that You hate him, but in your team you would like him. He could give us a different option and good cover.
S15 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 No different kind of 'hates.' Diouf can clumsy, hit shift + 8 again!! right off; a horrible creature.
