The Prof. Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Has anyone bothered to look on the 606 pages for us and City? Quite amusing reading. The Rovers board is a mixture of annoyance at the media / laughing at City and seeing right through the bid. On the City board they ALL think that it is a genuine transfer bid that now proves that they are flush with cash. There are a few fans from other clubs on there taking the wee wee, but there is not one dissenting voice among the City fans. Seems that if the bid was just a cheap PR trick, it has worked for there own fans at least. Still think we should ask Spurs how much they want for Corluka though I am not laughing but feel I should be. Could it be the absolute certainty they think found the cash under Franks false luggage bottoms? Err......They are either the best wind up merchants ever. Actually really truly believe they have the cash. Have the cash (Gulp). Are not bothered about going bankrupt. Or really really thick.

Ewood and I Would Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 yep they're stupid http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A39572184?s_f..._sport=football
TrentVilla Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Villa fans reckon they can get Roque for £15 million... We need to stick with the stance that 'not for sale' means 'not for sale'. We don't need the cash, and to buy a replacement as good as Roque in terms of his goals plus his workrate would be difficult to do, especially in terms of getting a player of his quality to come to the club. Yeah I have to admit that seems to be the general consensus amongst most however I just don't see this happening.
Majiball Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Nicko the keeping it quiet for sunday kid, wasn't he on trial at liverpool?? Could it be Barry, is bringing over some of the kids he was checking out at pool, they have massively invested in their youth recently?
rover6 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Nicko, a young hungarian (u19 international) guy, Andras Gosztonyi is in Blackburn at the moment. But the hungarian papers don't write why he is at the Rovers. Is it a trial or just a chance to training with Rovers a couple of days? Any information about this? Is Hungary enjoying a golden age of footy at the moment or something? Liverpool have been signing young Hungarians as if the Magic Magyar age has returned.
BlueMG Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Didn't Bon Jovi just do a concert at City's ground and mess up their pitch? Hence they had to play at Barnsley in the Inter Toto? I hope someone recorded 'Livin' on a Prayer' for their half time entertainment. Lovin the mess they are in! Ha Ha City!

So I take it that Barry Whitbread is behind this one. Mind you, it would be better if there were more first-team players landing.
almuncle Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Is Hungary enjoying a golden age of footy at the moment or something? Liverpool have been signing young Hungarians as if the Magic Magyar age has returned. I seem to recall Ince when talking about Derbyshire said he was looking for some more young hungary players

Also have a guess whose son plays for Liverpool youth? Nicko, is there any truth about Spurs wanting compensation from City over the Corluka fiasco? Viewed a few spurs forums and they are fuming. They are backing the club to possibly take legal action.

Mind you, it would be better if there were more first-team players landing. Thanks for that. I now its not first team but its still a step in the right direction, we have not invested in youth really at all over the last few years. So its nice to see Ince has set the ball rolling JSC and a few others coming in as well. do you know if we made any head way on that striker who scored in a game on trial I can't remember his name the one we where rumoured to have bid 200K for?

They are backing the club to possibly take legal action. That was my story and Spurs are going all the way on this. Checked yesterday and again today. Not that Spurs are blameless in transfers, but this Corluka affair is a bit ridiculous.
Majiball Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Also have a guess whose son plays for Liverpool youth? Gordon Brown???? well he has been compared to him!
modes98 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 however I just don't see this happening. If Santa Cruz was sold then i think Ince would be the next one out the door. It would be suicide to sell him.

Leyther Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 yep they're stupid http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A39572184?s_f..._sport=football They really have no idea that their own club regards them as that gullible. Some of them still believe that they paid up front for Jo etc. It was being touted that Arsenal were looking at making an 8 mill bid for Micheal Johnson, we should stick in a 4 mill bid and see if they can turn it down, what with the wages needing to be paid and no Wardle to loan them the petty cash this month.
67splitscreen Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Am I missing something here, with city. My assessment of City this window. This years tv money spent last season. Media reports say City need to pay 15m this month on last seasons signings. No denial by Cook, regarding Taksin borrowing 2m from Wardle for overheads last month. All Taksin's and his family's asset in Thailand now official frozen, assets outside of Thailand are now being actioned by a special team to seek recovery. They borrowed 5m for Hughes. 4m down on Jo Ben Haim on loan ?? Roque 12m Even if Taksin had funds available this window alone, you would be in the 40 to 42m ish. MH says he wants at least another two players, say 5-8m, 50m in total IMO. Not to mention there fixed overheads for the close season. Come on get real City, where are you going to get that sort of money from. Spin has a nasty habit of kicking you in the butt.
Fife Rover Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 They will, but it will 50p now and the rest to follow (hopefully in pounds not baht) Oh that will be nice.......2p a week for the next 100,000 years.

67splitscreen Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 They will, but it will 50p now and the rest to follow (hopefully in pounds not baht) i would prefer it in Baht it's sronger than the Pound. Baht 780,000, 000 smashes the British transfer record.
jny Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 These guys are soooooooooooo deluded and cannot spell "what is it with Blackburn and Spurs fans at the moment?.. At least City fans are "mostly" realistic and no quite onestly most of the time we are preety gash and accept it" "Realiticly Blackburn are gonna be hovering around 15th and Spurs will be fighting for Uefa with Villa Us and Everton" "You Blackburn fan (couldn't justify using the plural)keep on believing Mark Hughes is still your manager and it still isn't true. City will buy any of your players they want. Whether RSC is worth £12m or more is really the point. Perhaps we should swap him for Danny Mills. Now there's a player." does anyone of us still think Hughes is our manager?
alexanders Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Manchester is an awful city. Scum and Manchester ######. I'll puke. I am glad I got on the train to Blackburn as fast as possible last time I landed in Manchester.
