  1. He's definitely willing to leave it late in the window for when clubs get desperate and get better value. I'd expect us to do most of our business in the last few days of the window... I'll check back then.
  2. Didn't their manager say we were interested? Unless I'm mistaken.
  3. I think we need to forget Armstrong tbh... There is absolutely no way they are going to pay 3 million for him. If they aren't going to pay 750k for Harrison then they're not going be chucking 3 mill around.
  4. Wharton should've been going to a league 1 club for me... He's proven himself in league 2 now, he needs to be in league 1.
  5. Mentioned Pitmann to my mate the other day. A slightly younger version of Graham and a perfectly realistic target.
  6. I really don't see us spending a million on a player.
  7. Just a hunch but I can't see us signing this Maddison lad. Seems we're trying to spread what few millions we have around on decent quality players but clubs are asking a premium... E.G. Bauer.
  8. Maybe, I'd say that Bauer one is one to forget.
  9. Yeah agreed. I wouldn't be spending millions on players either, let alone someone near the end of his contract.
  10. Obviously plan B after Bauer, seems that ain't happening. Doubtful you'll see Rovers spend a million on a player for a long time. Sounds like we're chucking around change at clubs hoping they're desperate enough to need it.
  11. So let me get this straight, Jason Lowe has been there a month and he's already on strike?? When Bolton fans see him play they'll be wishing he still was.
  12. Think a few lads will go out on loan now. Can see Tomlinson and maybe even Travis.
  13. Spending 6 million of a forward doesn't guarantee goals... Look at Rhodes at Boro and Wednesday. We signed Gestede for pittance and scored as many as Rhodes. Cardiff spent almost jack all and got promoted... Folk need to just bloody relax and enjoy the bloody world cup! Reserve judgement until we make all of our signings.
  14. A lot of negatively after a solid performance IMO. Kane did his job. I'm not a big Henderson fan but played some great passes. Players looked like they understood the formation, we pressed well. Their penalty decision was a joke, we should have had 2 that were more penalties than theirs. Stones and Lingard should have both had goals, on a different day they might have finished them. Thought at the back 4 (bar a few mistakes) we were sound, couple of nervy mistakes but rather they get them out of the way early doors. I actually enjoyed watching England for once in the first half, can't remember last time I enjoyed England playing. Only negatives for me were Dele Ali and Young. We carried Ali in the euros and we carried him yesterday, he looked leggy and lacked creativity, didn't look like he suited that formation at all, slowed us down on the counter, not quick enough. If Southgate is picking players based on form then Rashford should be starting instead of him. I think it's absolutely crazy that Young is playing ahead of Rose, he's clearly a better left back, he's actually a left back for a kick off.
  15. Yeah, people used to say the same about Josh King.
  16. Isn't Chapman in his last year of his contract anyway? I'd say that puts us in the driving seat with regards to signing him.
  17. Personally hoped he'd say "no thanks". Top bloke regardless.
  18. Tony with a Chris Kamara classic type comment on Rovers website... "Things are progressing on a daily basis and I think ultimately with transfer dealings it’s getting people to sign," Pretty much the name of the game Tony! ?
  19. Really don't understand why more clubs don't explore the German market, you could get Anthony Ujah at a snip and his scoring record over the years has been outstanding. Huddersfield and Brighton have bought from the Bundesliga recently and those signings have been great. The last time we explored that market we signed Santa Cruz and Samba, Bowyer was keen on Sandro Wagner who now plays for Bayern. There are hard working professionals with the right attitudes to be found over there at competitive prices, even more so in the Bundesliga 2.
  20. Not exactly going to say "it went shit and they're a bunch of tight bastards" I suppose...
  21. He'll have gone all the way there, they will have congratulated him on doing well and will have answered nothing he asked and come back being non the wiser about how much money he has to spend.
  22. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11728/11374906/blackpools-kelvin-mellor-and-clark-robertson-interest-wigan-and-blackburn
  23. I know Sunderland were shite last season but surely Lamine Kone has to be worth a look? Was unreal under Allardyce and Everton tried signing him for almost 20 million. Very similar to Samba. I imagine wages would be an issue but if no one is interested...
