I think there's a lot more to this than we know. I get the feeling there are a lot of players who don't want to play for Ismael or who have come back to pre season and he feels aren't up to the demands of how he wants to play. Therefore instead of pussy footing around have just decided to clean house and get in players that can. I'm not against this approach either tbh, if they've appointed him then they need to back him and if there are players who aren't 100% in line with the manager then they need moving on. Time will tell, I think a bedding in phase and a lack of cohesion will cost us points initially but I'm hoping we do the opposite to what we usually do... Start well, disaster post Christmas. Slow start, bed in the players, try not to get into too much trouble and have a strong finish to the season.

We got a million from Chelsea for the young kid. 280k for Dolan. 300k for Telalovic sell on. 750k-1 mill for JRC plus the up to 3.5 million (give or take) fee's for Trav & Brittain, 1 mill for Buckley and a possible fee for Pears... Could take us to comfortably over 10 million in sales. As usual, we are well in the green. They should be forking out for a decent winger the tight fuckers.

I'd call it somewhat exciting I suppose. Good and bad, proof is.in the pudding with the signings and the window isn't done yet. I certainly don't think Gestede deserves the job and I don't particularly like him either especially how he left as a player but at least he and his team seem to be having a good crack at improving us under a tight budget. I can't say I'm disappointed to see them trying to bring in players who want to prove themselves in this league rather than blokes who've hit their potential ceiling. It could also be presented as a cost cutting exercise which on one hand its a factor but on another the players that have left or are leaving might simply not be worth the money they're asking for. I'm at a point now we've meandered and existed in this league for that long that I'm ok with someone coming in and taking a risk with some players with potential and if it fucks up and blows up in their face then they look like a bunch of dicks anyway.

Can't describe how proud of them I am. An absolutely unbelievable performance that hopefully springboards our season. Everyone, absolutely everyone was 10/10. Cantwell an 11/10. Can't praise them enough. Todd looked like a premier league player today, looked a good captain and was a class apart. Tronstad was his Rolls Royce best in holding midfield. Alebiosu never gets beat 1 on 1 and is athletic and quick, what a find. Mcgloughlin looks every bit as capable as Batth. We looked and played exactly how I hoped we would. Big, physical, with technical ability in the middle, with pace out wide and organisation at the back. Midfield really made up for last week, grafted without the ball broke the lines in attack. New signings look really promising. We should have won AT LEAST 6-0. Best performance in a long long time.

Honestly, I don't trust us to manage this game in the 2nd half, it's nowhere near done yet and our game management is evidently poor both on and off the pitch so my expectations are low. Tavares really worries me being on a yellow with this ref and the bench shows a lack of depth. Next goal decides this game
