  1. You’ll get the same if not worse from another manager. The squad is clearly not up to it. We can’t score so we bring on Gallagher, another bloke who can’t score. I think that says it all.
  2. Executive errors affecting matters on the pitch. Should have been sold while he was worth something. They learned nothing from Rothwell, but then “they” couldn’t really care less.
  3. That’s wrong. Better forwards and we are 2-0 up.
  4. We have inept forwards with no hunger, and it’s nothing new. I’m not sure how we can make them “ept”.
  5. It’s okay everyone, Gallagher and Morton double threat incoming. Boom!
  6. Poor by Buckley. Several chances to pass it easily, then holds onto it too long and f**ks it.
  7. Or a slowly melting David Baddiel waxwork.
  8. Gallagher being a colossus is like an oasis in a desert. It’s not real. Though granted he does seem to defend better than attack. He’s as much a passenger as Vale though.
  9. I look at this more positive than most. That goal goes in, team on a high, we play with more confidence. 1-0. Another goes in, 2-0. Wigan in for a trouncing. We sign a striker or two and we’re laughing. Not long till… Summer? 😩
  10. When you can’t see the sand for the oasis.
  11. Should be 2-0 up at least. Squandered chances and several moments when a shot should have been a pass to a better placed player. When Travis shot Dack was in a perfect place to score, unmarked. And this is why we fail.
  12. We miss Gallagher like we miss the relegation chicken.
  13. Brereton. JRC. Squandered chances.
  14. Should be 1-0 up. How many times are our forwards going to let us down?
  15. Sums up the Rovers squad perfectly. They get in the team because there's no competition. And if you don't you'll get a chance regardless a match or two later. Motivating those players can't be easy.
  16. We did that in 2001, we can attest, it doesn't work.
  17. He'll be just as effective on the bench, but his best position is at a different club. Arguably a different sport. It's just a shame that the same can be said for Vale. I'd be either putting Brereton up front or Dolan. And Dolan isn't ideal.
  18. Probably sees that he doesn't have much in the way of options.
  19. They'll scrap them the year we scrape into the PL, and relegated the following season. You can bet your house on it.
  20. It's on telly, which usually motivates the opposition into cup final performance, and us into a coma. 0-2. But I hope they prove me wrong. Despite the cup win it's been no pleasure being a Rover recently.
  21. It's a grubby business no doubt and I kind of fell out of love with football a long time ago for those reasons... I'm, amazingly still hanging in there as a Rovers supporter after 12 years of Venkys. As I've said before though, if Rovers didn't have so much debt I'd be happy for them to be a Championship team. It's not about the Premier League, or being a "rich" club, more long term survival in an awfully governed game. I do think with the way we are heading the club is heading for disaster without a major cash injection. And there's the hope that without so much debt we may be attractive to a more sensible owner. One with even a slight interest in the actual game of football would be a step up.
  22. Too many passengers and youngsters, not enough goals. We do have good players but as I've posted elsewhere, I'd only pick 8 players out of our current squad that I believe could make a fist of gaining promotion. On the day we played Burnley, that was entirely different. Tomasson completely changed things up for some reason. Players on the wrong side, giving kids debuts, giving loanees debuts. It was all wrong. When we folded against Preston I blamed the players. A big portion of the blame has to go on recruitment. There's just not enough goals in the team. As I've previously mentioned I've seen a few of your games and you've looked ordinary, but you've got those players that can step up and nick a goal if you're having a bad night. We don't have that. It can't be good for morale if, every match, you look at your forward line and go... "If Brereton doesn't score a Worldy, it's going to be a tough game." Then if you go a goal down it's an even bigger uphill struggle. Our (only) two centre forwards have scored 4 and 0 league goals which is pitiful. Hirst, the loanee from Leicester, was sent back and rightly so and not replaced. Motivating a team with such limited firepower must be a tough ask. The only bright spot recently has been the return to fitness and form of Dack, but the attacking players he had pre injury were far superior. Even at 37, and not a prolific striker by any means, I'd still pick a retired Danny Graham before Gallagher and Vale.
  23. That's not going to happen with the squad we have, in 6-7 months. There's been a loser mentality at the club for over a decade. Even when I've seen the team go at the other team, they've soon let their heads drop at the sight of one of our forwards missing a sitter, or someone attempting and failing a dangerous pass. The one thing our players are good at is motivating the other team. They can play with as much tenacity as they like but if Vale and Gallagher are up front, and the likes of Pickering and Morton are going to gift the opposition chances, we've no chance.
  24. Who mentioned Rotherham? We’re comparing them to Burnley. But if you want to compare them to Rotherham, then yes I believe we have a mid/lower table squad. We’re relegation fodder next season. But keep believing this team just needs motivation. for example the last time I saw Sam Gallagher motivated was when someone stepped on his toe. Perhaps JDT should smack him as he runs out and he’ll be world class. It’s the only thing stopping him 🙄
