It's not working when you consider it's taken about a decade to get a decent defense together. And consider that Brereton is sold for £20m, that makes a small dent in the £140m debt. What would work is running the club like a proper football club, getting promoted and getting the club in a healthier financial position.

Decent keeper but nowhere near as good as Brad Friedel. Way past his prime when we got him, whereas Brad was at his peak. Didn't Robinson also make some misjudged comments about Rovers when Burnley got promoted as well? That was silly considering he made so many appearances for us and only a few for them. You'd think that would count for something.

Reminds me of getting rid of Speedie and getting Shearer, apart from there's no Shearer just paying off debts that were created by clueless tossers.

Maja wouldn't be a bad signing if he passes a medical, but a replacement for Brereton - not sure about that one.

For the first time in over a decade the team have actually looked settled and balanced too. Getting rid of Brereton will really upset that I think as he's become a good motivator. You have an inspiring player scoring goals for you showing some passion and it has an effect on the rest of the team.

We lose BBD in January and kiss any chance of any PL miracles goodbye.
