  1. Dolan meanwhile has been really encouraging. Lucky find for Mowbray to be honest. The young chap will learn and will get better. Rothwell and him seems to be really good options from the bench. BB started well but faded away in the second half. Kaminski did decent. His kicking looks really good. Calm and seems to like to play a Neuer-style of sweeper/keeper role. Shamed he didn't get his hands to any of Bournemouth's long range shots. Hope he doesn't end up like a Paul Robinson. Now sort the defence Mowbray!
  2. Gutted to lose the game. We deserved at least a draw. Bell has been awful. You just know he's gonna do his typical cutting in, and then lose the ball. Bell and Williams are quite comical at times. Someone has to be responsible for coaching this defence.
  3. Totally what we deserved. Dont shoot, dont score. Great strike from Johnson, and a little mistake from their keeper. We battled and pressed hard, but lacking abit of creativity from midfield. Good shift from BB so far. Hope we can find another way through in the 2nd half. Not too bad from us so far.
  4. I was hoping we could get Sarr since we missed out on Kipre and Ayala. It's just strange we cant sign any defenders or no defender is interested in playing for Rovers. I really hope we have some 3rd or 4th choice defensive transfer targets which are good enough to walk into our first team, else it will be a long hard season, defensively.
  5. Resigning to fate that we are unlikely to sign anyone in the next few days who can walk straight into the first team against Bournemouth. Bell, Williams are very likely to start. With Gallagher and Evans coming back, it will be interesting to see which young midfielders (Dolan, Davenport, Chapman and Buckley) will Mowbray drop from the first 18? Hopefully Dolan will get a chance from the bench.
  6. We started with 7 players, aged under 23 and also ended the game with 7 players under 23.
  7. Could be down to fatigue or loss of concentration. I think its his first pre-season 90 minutes against a premier league team. Definitely an acceptable display from him.
  8. Maglorie has to be ahead of Wharton/Carter. Looked strong and fast. Dolan, Chapman and Rothwell definitely options from the bench. Not sure if we can have all 3 on the bench. JRC impressive in the attacking third, has to start next week.
  9. Our youngsters are better than Leicester's.
  10. Chapman has been really lively so far. We have to learn to take our chance, and shoot on target.
  11. And now for the dreaded Tony Mowbray half time talk.
  12. Has been a decent half for Rovers tbh. Took us awhile to get going. Malgoire, Nyambe looked good. Fisher, not tested much, but looked very confident with his kicking. Our best chance came from Nyambe with the cross which Armstrong was just a few centimetres away from scoring.
  13. They are down to just 12 players. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wigan_Athletic_F.C.#Current_squad
  14. Congrats to Kipre on being a Premiership defender. We never stood a chance when a Premiership club hijacks our deal. Let's move on, hope Mowbray has a plan B!
  15. This is what happens when you give Mowbray good money to spend. Looking at Brentford's model, they seem to be able to raise a player's value in 2-3 years and then sell them and get back what they paid for and more. Doubt Brereton is anywhere near £5 million currently.
  16. He follows both Rovers and Holtby's accounts.
  17. Hopefully our away kit will be launched against Leicester. Let it be ?⚫
  18. Still hope we get Kipre somehow, at least we are serious about him. West Brom seems to be just treating him as a second option if they can't get their main target.
  19. If we can't get any permanent defenders, by the time we start the league, we might as well try to get Tosin back on loan. At least, he doesnt need time to settle down.
  20. I thought it was a deflection off Lenihan at the last moment. Unless i saw wrong.
  21. Same sentiments, barring that miss, overall i felt he looked stronger and robust.
  22. Dolan is what i always wanted Chapman to be.
