I read that too. He was already giving excuses even before the game started.
-
Just because the commentators are talking about other players doesn't mean he's not contributing.. It's true Elliot didn't make much impact (neither did the rest of the team), but you could see he was the only few players who are trying to get on the ball and create something and get back to the game. I don't think it's fair to say Dolan stood out more.
-
Not sure if you watched the game.
-
Elliot seems to be the only one who wants to get the ball forward. That passing around in our whole half is just so frustrating. Is this a cheap attempt to increase our possession percentages.
-
I cant understand why does Leninhan keeps sending long ball forward when his passing is so bad.
-
Mowbray accepts defeat.
-
Is Gallagher really playing left wing? Haha
-
We need a Swansea sending off in the second half to even things up.
-
Maybe Mowbray needs to go on Youtube and watch how/where Gally was played during that season. Almost all his goals (quite a few headers) came from the centre, in the box.

Darragh Lenihan
yellowsubmarine replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Lenihan ALWAYS does that. He wants to be in the thick of action and tends to over-commits himself to get the ball. But more often than not, he misses the ball, be out of position and leaves a gaping hole at the back. -
Rovers vs Reading at Virtual Ewood

I was quietly impressed with both Esteves and Olise. Olise seems to play with confidence and have no fear. Very athletic as well. How the hell did Reading find these youngsters. And Joao, the ball sticks to him like glue and the way he took his goal was just cool. On the other hand, Gally.... -

More work to do for us. It's clear we can score. but we can also concede. And Lenihan has been really poor this season, very limited player, without a football brain. The late tackles he tried to make today were just comical. -

BB looked shagged! What a performance from him today. He deserves a goal. -

Hate to say it but this game is made for Gally. Looking at those crosses that comes in. -

Really nervous for this game. Feeling really excited to see the new players. Come on Rovers. Give us a win! -
They should straight away just say we aim to have Dack back playing by 2021 instead of giving us hope that he will be back in a "few weeks" every week. Anything earlier than 2021 should be a bonus, like what chaddy said. Get him fully fit for the 2nd half of the campaign and promotion push (if we are thereabouts by Jan). Rather than him starting to play in Nov/Dec, and then getting a recurrence of the injury which will end up with him being out longer.

Till now, i think no one knows exactly what kind of a striker BB is really, probably not even Mowbray. He's played striker, right wing, left wing so far, and i think his current position seems to be a better one compared to the rest he played in. -

Didn't catch the game as it was 3am here. But just saw the extended highlights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI1Mp4dze8k Were we really that poor, we did had a few chances to score, but Foster made quite a few saves. Definitely much better than the last 2 games. Although the defence is worrying. Really not convinced by Lenihan so far this season. Ayala injury-prone. And wish we have gotten Kipre (and Ayala). Kipre is not even playing for Baggies. Still optimistic once the key midfield comes back, Rothwell, Trybull and Travis, we will see less of Evans. Wonder if Mowbray will look to find another free CB (from somewhere) instead of getting Downing in. -

Kaminski already committed to side stepping to his right when Lolley took the shot. It was that moment the shot hit Johnson's half-assed attempt to block the ball and wrong-footed Kaminski. It's just unfortunate. -

Not sure if it was that Armstrong's shot outside the box which hit Gally, that was on target i assume. -

Think Kaminski had about 3 good saves. one from Lyle Taylor from the edge of the penalty box after he came on, one from Ameobi (towards the end), and one from a corner. Then our goalpost were hit twice too, from Ameobi shot and a cross which hit the top post. I don't really recall us troubling their keeper. Forest deserved to win, just alittle bit more than us. They had a plan - came to defend. And yet, created more chances, and scored one more goal than us in 90 minutes. We just didnt know what to do with the ball despite all those possession in defence. For me, the midfield cost us the game today, there was just no bridge between the defence and attacking 3. All i can see is Ayala pumping long balls forward and expecting Dolan (of all people) to win headers. Lenihan tried the same thing but his long balls are worse than his defending. Couple of times, Armstrong had to come deep to try to get the ball but Buckley was so adamant he wants to keep hold of the ball and do something creative with it. On the bright side, we will have better quality players walking into the first XI sooner rather than later. -

He has to take the blame for it, cost us a point. And he misplaced quite a few passes during the game too. The real Johnson is back! -

Mowbray needs to learn how to break a team down. For all his years of experience, he has zero clue what to do. -

Poor poor game from Johnson today. After such a great September, bam, he's back to his worst.
