  1. Usuall falling about by United players... and Riley being taken in
  2. David Thompson doesn't seem to be doing too well according to commentators.....
  3. UNITED: Howard, G. Neville, Ferdinand, Ronaldo, Rooney, Van Nistelrooy, Giggs, Scholes, O'Shea, Fortune, Silvestre. Subs: P. Neville, Brown, Carroll, Smith, Keane. ROVERS: Friedel, Neill, Todd, Nelsen, Matteo, Thompson, Reid, Flitcroft, Mokoena, Pedersen, Stead. Subs: Enckelman, Tugay, Amoruso, Emerton, Gallagher. Where's Nissa? Personally, don't rate Flitcroft and Matteo, but unless Nissa is injured (cue Amo on bench) suppose there isn't any choice.
  4. Well the media are happy, this morning, all of them gloating about us being beaten by Arsenal "Reserves". It's probably as well Reyes isn't anywhere near here or I'd wallop the blighter with my frying pan (my right hook isn't so good these days) for all his cheating and play-acting . I couldn't even speak to an Arsenal supporting friend - why do they cheat when there is no need? It started off as a great afternoon, with good weather, the Marine Display and a brilliant atmosphere. Matteo was on form for once (I still prefer Nissa there) and the lads caused Arse problems but switching off for just a moment allowed the goal. And it got worse when Todd didn't re-appear for the second half - you just sensed things were not going to go our way One thing which really irritates me is when one of the players thinks he has a grievance and stands with hands on hips or arm in the air expecting something to be done about it and misses a crucial move whilst doing so. I wish Hughes would have a quiet word in each ear telling them to get on with the game at such times, if a foul or whatever is going to be awarded it will be and it can cost us dear. Much more satisfying surely to see the ball cleared or put soundly in the back of the net than allowing the opposition to take advantage of the situation. I have been reading lately about the worry of people not wanting to train to be Referees because of the abuse being heaped on them at all levels but you do expect Premership Referees not to be so (please substitute very rude word of your choice) incompetant and seemingly biased.
  5. It's not the best of times, not necessarily the preferred day, but what the heck! Time to stop the moaning, book your tickets, arrange your travel and GET DOWN TO CARDIFF AND GIVE THE BOYS THE SUPPORT THEY DESERVE!
  6. Personally I think he came back too soon after the accident. It would have been best imo if he had taken a year out. He never had a proper break and that's probably what he needs now. Best wishes, Matty, hope things work out for you.
  7. The Roversmum family will be there. Really looking forward to this. And if we get to go twice - even better!
  8. Didn't anyone see the start of the televised match? (we recorded it) Lineker had Leicester City flag, scarf etc draped all over the table. The other two pointed out the error of his ways.
  9. Levein - what a pr*t! Stating quite clearly that he wanted a draw and moaning because his master plan didn't work. Boring match on the whole but as someone said earlier if Arse had played like that and won everyone would be singing their praises. Our lads stuck with it. A word of praise for Nissa. The guy was kicked and shoved all through the match and just picked himself up and got on with things. He must be black and blue this morning. Disappointed with Reid and Thommo; as for Flitty, can someone show him the door? Lots of niggly bits going on behind the ref's back from the Leicester 'players' but it's over and done with now and the right result! Noticed Souey has surfaced saying he wants to play Rovers in the semis. How sweet would that be if we took them on and won!
  10. Time for Brad to continue his trend and score his seasonal goal! We must do better than the last outing at Anfield. Score - 1-1 Brad for us and Riise for Pool. They will be quaking in their boots if Mokoena's playing - who's next up for injury?
  11. Worrying news: clicky particularly Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo, please, nooooooooooooo He needs to be eased in gently; give him a minute at the end of the Tottenham game
  12. The same thoughts had been going through my head! Please keep Sunday's lineup (sans Dickov incl Stead) Sparky! And please God, don't let's have any mention of Matteo
  13. I was rather thinking of Mokoena in midfield. News on Radio Lancs said Thompson had 'fluid on the knee' which would explain his recent absence - great shame after all he has been through. I also heard a rumour that Jansen had an injury.
  14. I'm getting a bit tired of it all now. As Hughesey says: which says it all really. Difference is, we are admitting that our team didn't play well. Last night I felt quite sorry for the Burnley players but the feeling has evaporated now. No more to be said. Bring on Leicester
  15. Altogether a nice easy night for the Police. Plenty of them standing around with nothing to do. The burglars of Lancashire must have had a field day last night.
  16. He's absolutely brilliant and boy, did he deserve that Captain's armband - Ryan Nelson
  17. Good pre-match interview with MGP on Rovers World at the end of which it was revealed that someone had chopped the top off his woolly hat!
  18. Somebody's probably mentioned it but RadioRovers is available to all online tonight. Just watched an interview with MGP on Rovers World, saying how much he enjoyed the game and atmosphere at Turd Moor and looking forward to tonight. At the end of the interview - Wendy: " what has happened to your hat?" Morton inclines his head to show that the entire top of his woolly hat has been cut off and his hair sticking up through the hole - Morten "Somebody's cut it off!" Wendy - "I thought you were having a bad hair day" Morton (grinning) - "No, I don't have bad hair days"
  19. Absolutely. A working class family. A man that worked his socks off, made a fortune and indulged in a passion and a well-earned dream. An honourable man whom any club would be fortunate to have been sponsored by. But wait. I have read several football books/biographies of footballers pre Jack and they all say the same thing- for example: "We always looked forward to going to Blackburn Rovers, there would be a warm welcome and a table groaning with sandwiches after the match" Twist that how you will, Blackburn Rovers has always been a club to be proud of. And what's wrong with being a "working-class family that wins the lottery"? Uncle Jack never forgot his roots. Neither will Blackburn Rovers supporters. And do you know what? I'm (word I'm not allowed to use) proud of that.
  20. And when it's all over, we have our next home match to look forward to. Now let me see - oh yes, we're playing Arsenal
  21. Your question has already been answered (see above). Seats available in BBE are from those Season Ticket Holders who have not purchased a ticket for this game.
  22. Perhaps we should just have given the Dingles all the tickets other than the season ticket seats They gave us just under 4,000. They got 7,000 at Ewood. Seems fair enough to me. You will always get a few opposition supporters in the home end. It's how they are dealt with that's imortant and in this case I hope arrangements have been made to swiftly sort out any problems.
  23. Absolutely agree with your points about ticketing, Lee. Things have to be arranged to suit the majority, it is unfortunate if a few fans have difficulty with the ticketing arrangements but I'm sure with a little thought and planning most problems can be sorted out. Besides the fact that ticket sellers need to be trained, employees these days have contracts in which their jobs are quite specifically stated. It's highly unlikely that a cleaner will have in his or her job specification "To assist in the ticket office as and when required" or the operater in the ticket office would be required to nip down and clean the toilets if the cleaners are short and I would assume that a different rate of pay would apply anyway. (This is for the few who don't seem to understand how the real world works) Having said that, I'm sure Lee wouldn't mind closing down the official message board until Tuesday so he can pop over and give them a hand
  24. He could come round to tea any day!
