  1. They are the Villa commentators. I'm listening to Radio Lancashire but they're too busy airing their knowledge to bother commenting on the game. Baros nearly scored again
  2. Especially nice of them to dig that particular picture up then. For heaven's sake, 1997? Nearly 8 years ago? Even I lose my rag now and again, and believe me, I can be far more scary than Andy Todd Apologies. Off Topic! Now then, this match tomorrow. Looks as if we'll have to sit tight and go for a draw.
  3. Well you would, wouldn't you, given the chance?
  4. For all those who are suggesting market research - a clip from John Williams' column in yesterday's programme reads: He goes on to say how important a healthy support base is. He is also prepared to answer, in the programme, questions put to him, either by email (ltalbot@rover-mail.co.uk) or by post to him at Ewood.
  5. Not looking good. I, too, was worried about Bellamy being prone to injury. Looks like we'll be fighting all the way again this season.
  6. Isn't Derbyshire working off a Red Card?
  7. It's reminding me a bit of last year. The players finished the 2003/4 season looking very jaded and I thought that they were bound to come back looking fitter and more up for it. But no. They looked worse if anything. The finish to the 2004/5 season was very similar, a lack of desire and interest led to a few disappointing results - particularly galling was the loss to Fulham on the last home game. Pre-season looked reasonably good, but Saturday's game was very worrying. A general lack of desire even for the better first half imo and then complete capitulation. This bunch of players need a good shake-up. Sparky has improved their general fitness and game and on a good day they are equal to any Premiership team. However, playing in the Premiership needs every game to be 'on a good day', a point not lost on him - question is, can he do anything about it with the squad at his disposal? I'm not looking forward to Saturday at all now.
  8. I would assume that as no-one has replied they don't know the answer to your question! Edit: I have found the following information: From the WHUFC Site: And from our Official Site:
  9. Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, Lee, don't be such a spoilsport. They'll have to find something else to moan about now.
  10. Sorry to burst the bubble but I (and family) went on Saturday and had a great time! Thought the atmosphere was pretty good and the lads did well under severe provocation. Quite funny really, Rovers being named by some as 'Bully Boys' got quite a kicking from Espanyol who got away with a fair bit until the ref suddenly woke up when Dickov got a smack right in front of him! I rather thought Sparky was chancing it a bit leaving some of our key players on with that lot and indeed poor Matty well and truly copped it! Anyway, it's the middle of the school holidays, cricket and athletics and other summer pursuits going on so all in all I'm not to worried about the turnout. The crux of the matter will be whether the team can pick up some early results to encourage the floating fans to trickle back.
  11. It hasn't been something we've heard much of last season, philip
  12. excuse me?
  13. Apparently Matty Derbyshire and a member of the opposing team got red-carded and sent off. No further info, no doubt Lee's report will clarify things.
  14. 88 mins - Gallagher has scored! 1-1 now
  15. mmmmmm, yes, I had views Looks like he could be a handy lad, the Morecambe defence weren't bad and he just left them standing! Looking forward to seeing what he can do when match fit.
  16. Oh dear, isn't it time they got rid of t'owd thing and got a new 'un then? We're not Burnley you know. one has to take one's chances.........
  17. Personally very disappointed with Jay at centre back. He was responsible for a goal and Gray had to do a lot of covering for him imo. Seems to be going backwards and he and Mokoena were very shaky. Flitty was his usual self raging around like a bull in a china shop, feet flying. Tugay seemed determined to lay someone out too! Still feel that Jay, Flitty and Douglas are wasteful of needed wages. The youngsters did well on the whole. Dickov is getting back to fitness - spoke to him afterwards and he doesn't feel he's quite there but pleased to be back in action - what a pleasant guy he is! Bellamy's going to be a big asset as we had hoped. Shefki - well what can I say. He gets around for a big lad and his goal was great stuff. Both Mattys were a nuisance. I was also very impressed with Dominic Matteo - only once did he need a map for a free kick. Nelsen and Todd were superb. We had a very enjoyable afternoon in the sun and the new kit looked good too, as did the new lilac team coach . I know Vratti and Amo are still recovering from injuries and Lucas, Bert and MGP have an extra week's holiday, but where was Thommo?
  18. Don't worry, we saw you sneaking in. Not quite fast enough to escape notice, I'm afraid..........
  19. It's not Souey's fault I blame Dean Saunders.
  20. Relegation candidates hard for me to pick 'cos I'd like to see the back of about 9 teams However: 1. Chelski 2. Manure 3. L'poo 4. Arseache 5. t'Rovers 6. Spurs (pass the bucket please) 7. Boro 8. Newcastle 9. Everton 10. Notlob 11. Villa 12. Charlton 13. Man City 14. Portsmouth 15. West Ham 16. West Brom 17. Birmingham City 18. Wigan 19. Sunderland 20. Fulham
  21. Wasn't Rio banging on about loyalty last week? That guy is something else
  22. The point is, Craig has something to prove, and with any luck he'll prove it with Rovers! All the criticism of Hughes will fire him up too, I reckon we're in for some major fireworks this season! Can't wait.
