  1. I've got an evening of taxi-ing kids around so it will have to be Radio Lancs for me
  2. Well it's not unkown for people to get angry and have a pop at each other - I don't know the circumstances of Andy's 'previous' anyway and if it wasn't during a match I don't see the relevence either, Hasta. Still, I'm not too worried. I shall keep Steve S's comments in mind and wait for an opportune moment. I'm hoping there's a bust-up at the Cup Final - given that it's the only opportunity for silverware this year for either team with any luck there'll be some fireworks! And I'm holding the VN incident back for future use. SS isn't going to get one over on me!
  3. Knew he'd do that. He replied saying the stats didn't include the broken jaw of the Bolton Ass. Manager and the assault on Dean Keily.
  4. I've sent Mr Stammers an email showing your stats, Hasta. Haven't mentioned the other incident, will wait for his reply, it will come in handy as extra ammunition! He sent me a reply to my last missive stating that as far as he was concerned Andy was guilty (elbow incident at semi - ha!) but that Mark B and Eddie were his best mates in football and he didn't want Rovers to be relegated! He also thought MH had got tactics wrong for the semi.
  5. Thanks, Alan. Yes, I noticed that Routledge had got a card - the poor innocent little soul who Dowie was so incensed about receiving similar treatment from our players! If he can't take it he shouldn't be in the team, and his age hasn't stopped him giving it! Funny also that Benitez complained about their tactics and five of his players got booked! Still, they're not nasty old Rovers, are they? You're right of course. Best let them get on with it and ignore them. Sparky won't be impressed though, will all add fuel to the fire. Can't wait until next season to see what he manages to pull out of the hat. Come on the Rovers!
  6. I glanced at the Mail on Sunday whilst in Asda this morning, nasty piece by their columist ?Collins? saying stuff about Hughesy. I can't find it online but would quite like to reply . Has anyone seen it?
  7. Brad was poetry today. He didn't really have any saves to make as such but at one point floated across the box and high up in to the air to catch the ball. I thought he was going to turn into Billy Elliott at any moment! Bit of a scrappy do today, but the wind took the ball so passes went astray and the ground seemed a bit hard. City were mostly a big ugly intimidating lot and I wasn't sure the referee got all the decisions right but at least he didn't flash cards about like a magician.
  8. Interesting to note that there were no yellow cards from our match today. Whilst the CP vs Liverpool notched up 7 yellows - amongst them one Wayne Routledge
  9. They won't be any more tired than any other team. They've got to be in with a chance against City. Stead to score. Just had a thought - who would take a penalty?
  10. My anger is beginning to die down now and I can see the funny side of it all. All the hysteria and jumping around can only be good news. Most of it from Arse-supporting hacks most of whom wouldn't be seen dead anywhere near Ewood, so why should we care? They are searching for any crumb to disrepute our club! Let them! The more they rant the sooner everyone else (not just people from Rovers) will get fed up and start to hit back at them. There was a buzz about Ewood on Wednesday that I haven't felt for some time. I'm still chuckling at the thought of Dowie pinning our Kevin up against the wall in the tunnel at half time (allegedly) - note he didn't pick on Hughsey or Eddie! Hughsey has said that what he has done at Rovers is his greatest achievement. He is more a Rover than Souey ever was, and what a man! Bring on tomorrow. What will the next twist in the saga be? I can't wait!
  11. I think you're right about that person, Jan. However, by the time the end was nigh even I had begun to think enough was enough. In the case of Flitty, having observed him closely, I feel he has little skill to offer (except being able to disappear at will and pop up in the middle of the action now and again; and to chop the legs off anyone who's handy). I'm sure he would do well at a Championship club and I'm very willing to provide the transport. Although he didn't deserve the treatment he got at the hands of that person though, I would have preferred it if his earlier after-training activities had not been plastered all over the press including a photo of one of the ladies concerned, which imo approves that his eyesight is not too good for she was the spitting image of his wife!
  12. He should be so lucky to get the chance! *shudders at the thought*
  13. Bollax. Thanks Scotty. That saves me having to describe Flitcroft any further P.S. I'm happy to admit being blinkered in my attitude towards Flitcroft and there have been times when he played well. I just don't seem to be able to remember any. Stupid me, obviously.
  14. I really hope that isn't true. If it is, they are a disgrace to the club.
  15. I've had enough now. from 'This is London' Sent the pratt an email:
  16. Dickov played with a cut mouth for the last 20 minutes of the game. Didn't see him rolling about on the ground
  17. To put the cut lip incident in it's place, Dickov played with a cut lip for the last 20 minutes of the game. Didn't see him rolling round on the ground with it. The poor guy could hardly get to the Rovers coach after the match. Rumour has it he may be out for the rest of the season injured. Whatever skills he has or lacks, you can't fault him for his commitment.
  18. To be fair, despite the expected Arsenal worshipping, the Observer report here did say: and I feel a lot better this morning - in spite of everything it was a cracking day, and looking forward to the next few games. At least the negative reporting from the hacks will hopefully shut up those who put Hughes' name forward for any random managerial vacancy that occurs and inspire him and the backroom lads (not that they need it!) to provide us with an entertaining and positive season 2005/2006!
  19. Quite a day! Stewards at Cardiff brilliant but isn't the finish of the stadium awful? It's beginning to look very tacky already. Still the bit that 'shows' - the seating and the pitch is good. Jack Straw saw us in the car park before the match and came over (he vaguely remembered Mr Roversmum for some Trade Union stuff a while ago). Great to see so many in the blue and white and the team did us proud. Two gripes - Flitty (why?) and Thompson - both receiving unnecessary yellow cards. Did they have to be in the side? Very, very disappointed that Arsenal felt it necessary to fall and roll about so much. They really can play so why the need? And how do the referees manage to miss them cheating and the sneaky fouls. At least with Rovers what you see is what you get! No way was Andy Todd's collision deliberate. I've seen the replay a couple of times since getting home (which is another story). Even Arsene has later said there was a doubt. Waited after with a couple of Arsenal fans for the players to leave. I have to say, when Reyes came out, he saw the lad in the wheelchair and came over to sign his programme. He went back to the coach and almost immediately came out again and brought his match shirt for the lad. Now I don't like Reyes play but he was very polite to the fans and I was impressed that he took the trouble to bring the shirt for the lad. All the others turned their noses up and got straight on their coach. Our lot weren't much better, none came over (there was only the roversmum family left when they came out so perhaps that was why ) and I think it was Eddie called out 'thanks for your support'. Still, I suppose they were a bit fed up...... The car decided to pack up on the way home, in the middle of the M5 on a part where the hard shoulder was coned off for some random reason. Luckily for us the car just managed to cruise to the end of the said coned area. So we ended up arriving home about 11.15pm in one of those breakdown things with the car on the back. Looks like the car is going to cost us a bit to repair .
  20. on and on and on and on and on and on................. Why? The people who genuinely can't come can't come. End of story. Those who can't be bothered - is it any wonder when so many 'true fans' moan so much? It truly makes you want to forget the whole thing and go off and do something else! It isn't doing the team any favours (hope to God they're not reading this) and they are the ones who have to do the work! If you are able to attend this FA Cup Semi and indeed away matches - and are giving others grief for not going - then I have this to say to you: Just think yourselves lucky that you are in a position to be able to go. And please - GIVE IT A (rude word I'm not allowed to say) REST
  21. Notwithstanding the cost, there are probably older supporters/less able supporters/those with young children/others who have previous arrangements for the day who would love to attend but logistically simply cannot do so. And for those who have simply no idea about what attending such an event with a couple of youngsters in tow entails are welcome to take a couple of my grandaughters! Even club travel involves arriving at various pick-up points at an un-godly hour. Things are not always as simple as they seem. The 'armchair' supporters who simply cannot be bothered are the ones who should feel ashamed of themselves.
  22. Yes, but unless I'm missing something they have far bigger fan bases than we have for a start..... (as you have already pointed out so why the grief ) Just be thankful if you are able to go and give it a rest.
  23. Mokoena off - Brett on; looks as if Flitty's going in Mokoena's place.
