Should be easy enough - look for someone who can't spell 'pardoned'

I don't know if anyone saw the programme about Liz Dawn on Monday. The poor woman can hardly walk, her lung functioning is shot (emphysema) due to her long history of smoking. A friend of mine has this disease and she is only in her 40s. She was a very very heavy smoker. I have seen friends die with lung cancer caused through smoking and it isn't pretty. If you smoke, please try to give up, and encourage youngsters not to start.

And what about Pedersen's neck wringing?
-
Football First clearly showed that Benni was pulled down from behind as he was about to shoot. It was fast but the camera caught the incident. Carsley also got away with quite a few fouls as did some of the others. To be honest I had given up hope of a result after the first fifteen minutes given the way things were going. And yes, Dunny did get lucky - when will he learn? Regarding the 'goal' - I just wish they'd stop mucking about with the rules so we all knew where we were

Morten's got a point though. If you get grabbed by the neck you would expect your opponent to get his marching orders. Knowing Wiley's 'form' with us if things had been the other way round our player would have been red carded immediately.

[Archived] Andre Ooijer Signs !

I was pleased to see Andre as Captain at the Villa match. Also loved the fact that the Villa announcer had no idea how to pronounce his name! -
The whole article needs reading: Many drugs are beneficial to fight illness when used in a controlled and sensible way. This does not mean that you should sit in a darkened room inhaling the stuff ad infinitum. He also points out: He also states that they For most of the people I have known who indulged, it has definitely not been beneficial to them although it has provided work for the psychiatric industry.

He didn't look too bad in the last ANC

As someone mentioned, I believe they've both got new additions to the family. Hope they are not on night duty

[Archived] More Madness From Mcclaren
roversmum replied to RevidgeBlue's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
The worst thing today was hearing Jamie Redknapp banging on about how wonderful Steve Gerrard was today, although Wednesday was mentioned in passing. Shameful, shameful, players for England, you should be honoured to be given the shirt. I am still absolutely gutted, not just about Wednesday, but the performance of the England players barring Becks and Bentley for some time now. -

I have to agree, Bacup blue, I feel sorry for McClaren too, I'm sure he's a very nice bloke. However, I'd wish him to be anywhere except where he is now (except, perish the thought, Manager at Rovers...). Your Mourinho points have merit, particularly the last one, but I think what every English person is crying out for is for the blighters on the field to show a bit of desire, pride and passion. It's bad enough on the occasions when Rovers don't seem to have it; but these guys are playing for their country for goodness' sake -

Has no-one seen the punch in the chest that went with the kick? Disgusting behaviour, should be banned for life, enough is enough. -
He's history. Next?

Some players really need a reality check. There are only so many places in the top teams and most operate some sort of rotation unless you are a really top player. Still, there are plenty of places in the lower leagues ......... -

[Archived] Mark Hughes - Good Choice ?
roversmum replied to Ste B's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Paid a visit to the Dentist this morning - he is a Man City fan. Still reeling from their recent shock result but positively drooling over Mark Hughes - reckons he's the best Manager in the Prem. I felt quite sorry for the poor soul whose appointment was after mine, he had quite a wait by the time we had finished discussing Hughes' attributes! -
Son-in-law and granddaughter went to the Leeds match. There was a fair bit of trouble apparently, all caused by the Millwall fans of course
-
The kids went, I remember seeing them on the tv screen jumping around with the rest! What a match! Always regret not actually being there..... and Amo's goal
-
I read somewhere that Graham Poll, when asked about the 'penalty' quite recently said something along the lines that Sheringham 'looked straight at me as he went down, that was why I didn't award a penalty.' I never could abide Sheringham so to hear that was sweet to me!

[Archived] Benni Mccarthy - Gone
roversmum replied to adam lodge's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
The best thing was that Benni was clearly enjoying himself. Even in the warm-up he had a wide grin on his face and was bantering with the lads. Just wish they didn't all have to traipse off on the wretched internationals again -
Coming in to Ewood on Saturday notices numerous signs pointing to new housing developments, so someone is expecting a few new residents. Maybe these should be targeted with info on Rovers to maybe attract new fans.

keep up the good work

nice to see most of the comments on that article are roundly sticking up for Rovers!
