[Archived] Rovers 1-1Tottenham

How do you know they weren't there? Do you expect them to sit with labels on so that you know they are there? Actually Jack's daughter and some others usually attend matches and rarely miss. And don't forget, the Trust owns the club, not the Walkers. (I've been dying to use this sign, here's my chance )

Can we afford an extra treatment table? -
Well I hate it. Sexism isn't clever - especially when the same old jokes are trotted out over and over and over and over again - and you can't even discuss women's football on this board. Sad.

Personally I think the away fans insisting on standing and crowing about it is disgraceful. Turf the lot of them out, I say, they know the rules.

Douglas? No Way. It was always a worry when he was around that someone might misguidedly play him. Granted we could have done with a replacement but really wouldn't have thought that Moko would be quite so bad - and Mark did say he would only be bringing in players who would be able to go straight into the team - obviously there weren't any suitable around at our price and the injury situation could not have been foreseen either.

no point in worrying about it now, there is nothing you can do at the weekend. chill out.

[Archived] Tugay - Better Than Ever
roversmum replied to Roost's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Tugay is an absolue legend. I'm savouring every moment of his time as a Rover. -
I've just put it on to record, on Eurosport UK at 7.45pm channel 410.

Probably about as much as the family in our street who has three of the things on their drive -

I'm a great believer in Evolution. Things happen, nature evolves to cope with it. It's natural. What really bugs me is the great pollution produced by the likes of China, India, Russia - which makes our contribution look silly. I am quite willing to take whatever steps I can to help in my small way - if someone can make up their minds what steps these would be apart from rubbish recycling and using fuel saving appliances, light bulbs etc. However, what I don't see, is how taxes are going to help. Are they going to stuff the hole in the ozone layer with £5 notes? What extra taxes on fuel will do will very conveniently plug some convenient hole in the economy and make life difficult for the likes of most of us who are struggling to afford a decent living anyway. People still need to move from place to place and the cost of bus travel in our area makes you wonder if you are actually buying the bus. Just try transporting children around - hospital appointments etc, shopping, school (unless you have one on the doorstep). Again, most people wouldn't mind so much if they felt the money was going towards research on more efficient fuels but hey, why bother with that, it's easy money and whoever thought if the idea is a genius, it's almost on a par with speed cameras. I read somewhere that the methane gas produced by the emissions of sheep in New Zealand is more pollutant than our traffic. Best kill all the sheep then. Oh, and must plug all the volcanoes. We don't want any of them erupting and causing more pollution. -

Oh, the memories -
Could someone please ask Sparky to give the half time talk before the game in order that we might manage a full ninety minutes of a game rather than just the forty-five?
-
He was on the telephone to Soccer AM this morning, allegedly still whining about it. I didn't hear the interview myself though
-
All good practice for you though lad, games are coming thick and fast over the next few months
-
I've said before and it has happened many times. Rovers team will turn up expecting to win just for being there, let themselves and the fans down in front of tv audience and lose soundly after allowing the Hammers to run rampant all over them. However..... I am willing to be proven wrong  Hopefully Mark will have read the stats and leave the lads under no illusion as to what is expected of them.
-
Never mind all that. I hope you are busy penning the next article, Bob, only one more match before end of t'month you know
-
I believe there are a lot of 'floating' football fans out there who have not attended matches for various reasons, including those who loosely call themselves 'fans' of other teams. If we look outside our little bubbles they are there and only need a few words of encouragement and maybe a bit of effort to take them along to Rovers even if it means changing our seat for a match (shock, horror). I agree the ticket price can be a deterrent for some, but there are the special offers and cheaper matches for them to try; then hopefully you can get them hooked and even if they don't attend all matches you have another Rovers shirt in the area and there is even a chance that they may consider the excellent value of a season ticket.

[Archived] Ticket Office Telephone Bookings

You mean you haven't started bringing your grandson to Rovers yet? Get 'em young I say! There was one next to me, didn't stop chattering for the whole game, most disconcerting! Much as I love kids, having brought up four and with 5 grandchildren I do appreciate my usual adult zone!
