  1. Not Bert's thread but he is loyal (and a long-time Rovers fan). For those who haven't read it, Bert's "Ewood E-males" from the matchday magazine
  2. I was waiting for you to pop up, Cletus. Yes, I'd expect to see you there with a number of extra people! Great stuff! I'm off to encourage as many as possible to come. Hope everyone will do likewise! We need to get as much encouragement as possible for the lads for this one. Not sure what any 'newbies' will think of the football, but the thought of Bolton and the obnoxious Kevin Davies and Campo certainly sends my blood pressure up!
  3. my reckoning was slightly out, but there's the difference.
  4. You're right. Remember we are Rovers Supporters...... Oh, woe is us, woe, woe and thrice woe. We stand no chance. Who's coming to jump off the top of the Jack Walker? We might as well end it all now. Despair, utter despair...................
  5. Was just about to say, I believe the population of Bolton is at least twice that of Blackburn, notwithstanding the surrounding areas.
  6. Two of ours have already been given to neighbours who profess to be Liverpool 'fans' but fast becoming amongst the Ewood faithful (and talking about Season Tickets)
  7. Anyone read the Admiral's description of his recent operation in the matchday magazine? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I've had to sit on an extra cushion in sympathy ever since...............................
  8. Give the girl a break, please. She's a Celtic supporter so of course she's not going to like Rangers! I am most definitely not a Celtic supporter but it doesn't bother me so why all the jumping up and down? (I don't like BF either) What was that you were saying about hysterical onslaught, Phil? Chill guys
  9. I hope the game is cut and dried well before the end of the match. We've to travel down to Kent for a wedding on Friday morning so will have to leave a few minutes early........... None of that last minute messing around as per the game in Salzburg please lads. 2-1 Rovers.
  10. Also from the site mentioned above: Aw, diddums, best stock up on the magic spray and plasters then...................
  11. and I wouldn't mind betting that they wouldn't get away with it at any other ground
  12. Hold on a minute. There is now a database manager who is able to pull out all kinds of stats. JW told us that each match attendance is analysed thoroughly - I'm sure it was at one of our meetings earlier this year where others were present (one Den missed perhaps?) Possibly the only thing that may not yet have been picked up on is that away supporters have lately got crafty (re Hannah's recent post about the Man City match) in that they are buying cheaper tickets eg in the JWL outer and then getting themselves transferred to where their own supporters are sitting in dearer seats at the Darwen End. As yet I don't suppose it's enough to make much difference though a bit cheeky. Incidentally, I am no longer a season ticket holder in my own name as I come as Mr Roversmum's carer; however I still get letters/stuff about various offers (eg the membership thing) etc through being on the database.
  13. 3-1 Rovers. Nonda; McCarthy and Ooijer.................(he owes us at least one!)
  14. No offence, Athlete, but I've just choked on my cup of tea at the thought of your good self in JW's shoes.......
  15. I have all his albums................... Perhaps he could come up with a song for us..........
  16. 2-1 Rovers. frannie; bentley;/dickov As Dickov is the face for September on the Rovers Calendar I am expecting repercussions.......................
  17. I like Jemal, so I'm glad he has found a club where his talents are appreciated and he has a chance to develop!
  18. But the tickets were available before the game! So they could be bought then! I was in a similar situation in that my eldest son was visiting and decided to come to the game on Saturday afternoon. So we bought his ticket before the game. Common sense I would have thought........... It's not as if tickets have only been on sale for a couple of days - and it's very rare these days that tickets are not available before games except Mancs and Pool.
  19. But most businesses, other than retail, are closed on a Saturday afternoon - and I think you'll find most football ticket offices are if there is no game.
  20. Tickets were on sale before the match, where's the problem?
  21. Say what you like about Kuqi, at least he doesn't stand around, he's in the thick of the play whichever end of the field it is! Thoroughly enjoyed the match, shame about the result, disappointed with the refereeing, thought Clattenburg was above favouritism. Think Benni still has to find his way - he seems to have a permanent look of shock on his face as the match rages around him!! Disappointed with Roberts - could do better. Shame the Admiral wasn't around. Baptism of fire for Oojer sadly cost us the match. He'll need to learn quickly. Gamst looked a bit out of sorts and Reid isn't right yet. Took my eldest son for his first visit to Ewood (well, he is 36 and lives "down South"!) - he's just set off for home with a list of fixtures keen to return for more! He wasn't very impressed with Chelsea at all - but incidentally thought the ticket price good value for money!
  22. Seems to me a lot of those who pick and choose matches to attend are wanting to pay little more for each match than a season ticket holder. Why should they?
  23. Debs has got a point! It's been bad in the JWL as long as I have been coming to Rovers. I shall be glad when it is stopped altogether. And I hope this does not mean folks thinking they can smoke in the toilets!
