[Archived] Scrap Cat A & A+ Tickets
roversmum replied to steveo57's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Well the price of a season ticket is still very good value; however the consderation of games being moved about all over the place does not lie well with many and I can't blame them for that; there are also those whose work patterns have changed making it difficult for them to justify the purchase of a season ticket. I can also sympathise with the value for money theory; even the odd shocking performance (last Saturday) is enough to drive away fans and Souey's last couple of seasons tried the will of even the most committed supporter. To be honest, some just got tired of all the angst, stayed away for that reason and will be very difficult to tempt back to the fold. However, many games are not priced at Cat A and A* and in theory should be more affordable, particularly in the Riverside, which despite it's lack of facilities offers a fair view of proceedings. -

Didn't notice that many more turning up when tickets were cheaper. It's like this. If our supporters won't pay, sting the opposition's supporters who will pay and to do that our tickets have to be a certain price. Supply and demand are carefully monitored so I'm led to believe, the attendance at each match is carefully analysed, and of course the best deal is the season ticket and this has to remain so. For those who can't/don't want season tickets for whatever reason I trust they have analysed the cost of a season ticket against the number of attendances they plan to make. Otherwise, JW and TF are always willing to consider ideas. -

Good. I get fed up with folks complaining but not being prepared to do anything about it. Let us know how you get on. Oh, by the way, no need to shout, I know I'm bit deaf but don't rub it in! -

2-2. The mighty Kuqi and Mickey Gray..................... Beattie x2 -
Laziness doesn't just extend to attending the match. Surely people can last a couple of hours without starving to death - if not, there are ways - sandwiches, soup in a flask - you can get containers these days to keep a pie hot, so take one with you. Oh, sorry, that would mean carrying something, hard that! And it would be a useful exercise to cut down on the drink anyway! Oh, I know it's 'match experience' and all that, but how many of you have actually admitted on these very boards that at times you have been too drunk to watch a match - whatever point there is to that I've missed it!

Never mind. Perhaps everyone will be happy when Rovers eventually get relegated to the Championship and it won't be on in the pubs then.

I trust those fans who are not coming to the Everton game for the reason of cost will be at the New Zealand match to see how the new season's squad is shaping up? -

Kids love trains, so we're off to try the Settle-Carlisle route on Sunday. Train from Bamber Bridge direct; return costing £35.40 for 3 adults 2 children if you have a family railcard (£20). Cost of the trip would be £55 without railcard so worth buying the railcard then you've got it for further trips. There are lots of trains doing these trips, all go through Blackburn - mostly from Leeds - and on Sundays there are guided walks from the various stations along the line. Keep a lookout for country shows and fairs etc. Went up to Trawden near Colne intending to go for a good healthy walk on Sunday, found they had a garden and scarecrow festival on. 91 displays in various parts of the village based this year on a musical theme. There's a country show up in Trawden this coming Sunday. -
Glad to see the lads did well for themselves. I was going to go but after a soaking from venturing out earlier in the day decided against it. Don't forget the Reserves are playing Chorley on Saturday at Victory Park, 3pm. However it could be back down to a young side again if the older ones jet off to Holland with the Senior Squad.

Think we'll have to pay for them but will see you at the Everton match; Weds 23rd if not New Zealand. I must admit the view has improved since Souey left
