  1. Agree, Alan75. To be honest, it won't make a lot of difference to me, but I know many people it will make a significant difference to.
  2. Pity those who couldn't change their plans won't be there to see it
  3. Just as a matter of interest, Rich, who would you have chosen?
  4. Bit of a cheek, really. They aren't in the Champions League now so that 'frees up dates'. Really? Big of them, don't you think? So they can now muck about with our schedule. I can't see the problem with a 5.15.pm Saturday match after their memorial service. They are a relatively short distance away, not the other end of the country. This is getting more and more ridiculous.
  5. We have two small forwards and they have too big tall defenders who didn't even have to jump for the ball! We noticed it too. Towards the end of the match I was even wanting Kuqi to come on and give them a bit of trouble!
  6. This is making a mockery of the memory of those fans. They died at a football match. It was a terrible tragedy, one that will always be remembered with sadness. But surely those who died would want life to go on? They certainly wouldn't want football matches to be cancelled, particularly at such a late stage when many have made plans to travel some distance for them. And I'm sorry, why blame Blackburn because the match wasn't cancelled? There has been all season when it was known what day the match was on. Something, somewhere, is not quite right about this.
  7. Could you make arrangements for Fulham to go down instead of Portsmouth, please ? We should be able to beat Liverpool on today's showing
  8. Give it a rest, guys. No need. From any of you.
  9. We'd have to resurrect the Clayton Brook Barcelona Supporters' Club!
  10. The message is not getting through .................
  11. That may be so but no doubt many of the BBEnders would feel the same if it was touted that they should change from an area they feel comfortable in. The JWL(BBE in particular) has easy access for disabled supporters and is nearer the car park/buses. However, I should be the first to welcome the non-smoking edit in the concourse, which quite frankly is presently pretty bad for the non-smoker! My plan is more far-reaching than that, I would like to see the Riverside developed to incorporate a disabled area with an indoor viewing area/'club' room (that can be used as a drop-in centre during the week) and the family area, also with access to a suite/room. Then perhaps the current family stand could house the area of seating which is not allocated where season ticket holders bringing casual supporters/friends etc can sit with them. I don't want to go into all the stuff about cost and not filling the ground as it is because sooner rather than later the Riverside will need to be updated and then the question will come up do we just knock it down and leave an empty space? I think not. Regarding costs, Boz, this has been discussed at great length and it actually comes to a point that to cut costs further is not a viable solution. The club is very careful to monitor that situation. I don't know if you have visited the website or been involved with BRISA but you may be interested to look at the work that has been done link here particularly in the attendance document, the forums and the newsletter dated 1st March.
  12. As long as it doesn't help Spurs next weekend, DMTP
  13. here we go again, hand of ped; blah blah blah................... Sorry but it has to be done....... AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH
  14. I'm quite happy with the JWL the way it is. It is also used by a number of disabled supporters and more mature fans who may well be inclined to discontinue their attendance if you start mucking about with it.
  15. Fair enough, but do you have to keep on about it, Fife Rover? Every time since then when someone questions a decision, up pops your 'hand of ped' comparison. I'm pretty sure there have been numerous questionable decisions since that, so I feel fairly confident that we don't need to be continually made to feel guilty about it - and if my maths is correct two today less the 'hand of Ped' (one) still leaves one...................................... and furthermore, I shall be looking out for your comments on the next match(es) and if you mention it again I shall scweam and scweam and scweam
  16. But they won't 'ditch' us in terms of selling to anyone making an offer. Anyone making an offer would be thoroughly investigated before it is even considered, including long-term plans and ability to see them through.
  17. I'd be the first to agree with you, Oz. But I daresay they have their reasons.......
  18. It's a lot better than 16,000...................
  19. Didn't Higgy get a rather cracking goal in that match?
  20. Possibly, just possibly, some of them might have other commitments than going to the pub after the match. For example, the lady who sits in front of me has a disabled husband at home and she needs to get back to him asap rather than sitting in a queue of traffic for an hour. They've paid their ticket money, if they want or need to leave early that is their choice. Or perhaps you'd rather they didn't bother to come at all - then you could moan about attendances. Too many people on here are quick to make assumptions without considering other people's circumstances.
  21. Other headlines from the NOTW: "Ped and Buried" and "Gam and Blast" They also pointed out that our team cost £15.05m and Real Madrid cost £149.14m and they couldn't beat Arsenal but we could! Some great memories from this season and hopefully a few still to come!
  22. Players may earn big money for part of their career but they are still human beings* and the constant derision of them gets me down sometimes. *I have to say it, unless they are Burnley players or Gary Neville of course
  23. Can't say I've had any problems with washing the shirts! Just put them on a quick wash with no conditioner. I really am not keen on the Bet24 logo.
