  1. Matt Monro, a portrait of my love. - A sweeter voice has never been heard.
  2. What's the problem? We didn't score a try, you can't kick it. Am I missing something. You wanna rewrite the rules?
  3. God help any new manager who finds rovers in the bottom three. Instant dismissal Jim? We'll go through them faster than light travel
  4. The key word rover6 - terminal! If everyone on here thought the decline was terminal, you would get a lot more backing for your views. The problem for JW and the fans is: how do you know when it's terminal? If it's something that can be corrected, would you still sack Souness? A straight answer please.
  5. Good point, not something that many of us have considered. He refused to criticise Lucas and is still make his feelings known on the Cole incident, instead he keeps hiding behind comments such as 'the general feeling is...'. Strange comments from a man who is not afraid to say what he feels His analysis of the formation and general frustrations of being a Rovers fan at present are spot on too. I wouldn't hold that against him too much. Ever heard Fergie criticise his own? Said absolutely nothing about Cantona's two footed leap into the crowd at selhurst park.
  6. I reckon the criticism of the 4-5-1 is a little harsh. The way things were going, he had to attempt to change things around a bit, much as tony Parkes used to do. It was his way of getting all his better players on the field. OK it didn't come off, hindsight is wonderful. However, it might have done, I don't blame him for trying.
  7. We did ok last time, if you remember! 0-2 5-0
  8. Do you know anything about negativity, rover 6?
  9. While I'm not in the Souness out camp, I do think the board should come down hard on him for his outrageous behaviour at the saints match. To be shown on T.V. offering Rofe down the tunnel, casts disgrace on the good name of Blackburn Rovers. He should immediately offer an apology to the fans and Rofe himself. Then look forward with a little more humility, towards steering one of Englands finest clubs, out of it's current predicament.
  10. It's still not been confirmed by Blackburn or Chelsea yet, but if, as seems likely, it is true, Then I can only thank John Williams for an excellent piece of business. In today's market £17m is an awful lot of money, and we could have so easily lost Duffer to Liverpool for half that.
  11. Blackburn Rovers fans are waiting anxiously for the outcome of Damien Duff's talks with Chelsea. Whether we hear anything today or not, remains to be seen. No doubt Graeme Souness is waiting just as anxiously, in the USA. You can read and contribute to a very busy messageboard by clicking here
  12. Damien Duff has withdrawn from the USA tour, after Blackburn Rovers accepted a bid from Chelsea for the Irishman. Read more on the messageboard.

  14. Blackburns Chief Executive, John Williams confirmed this morning, that rovers have rejected two bids from Chelsea, for star winger Damien Duff. There is a release clause in Duff's contract, and if Chelsea were to meet the required conditions, rovers would be obliged to allow Duff to talk to them. However, it is still rovers intentions to keep hold of Duff. It is hoped that rovers recent success and qualification for the UEFA cup will persuade him to stay at ewood. Full story the official site

    Keeper to sign

21 year old David Yelldell will become Blackburn Rovers' first summer signing, when he joins from German club Stuttgart Kickers. He will compete with Alan Kelly for the number two goalkeeping spot. In the same article, Liverpool's chief scout reveals how liverpool turned down the chance to Damien duff as a youngster. How they must be regretting that now! The full stories are in the Lancs evening telegraph.
  18. Christ, we've come a long way since Lonnie Donnegan.
  19. Steve Bruce has gone back to rovers with a new offer for David Dunn. Weekend stories that Birmingham were to offer a part exchange deal have been denied by John Williams. Local sources say that Dunny would be keen on a move to St. Andrews. For the full story, see the Lancs evening telegraph.

    Iraq poll

He would probably work out that if Dale Winton's wedding was more important than the iraq war, then I can't believe it's not football is the place to be!

    Iraq poll

Well that's just rubbish, whether or not there are WMD or not is the worst justification for a war IMO. Which bits rubbish, doc?
  22. den

    Iraq poll

It's quite simple really. Have you seen anything yet, that justifies the war. Some people would argue, that evidence of Saddam's alleged murder and torture of his own people is justification in itself. That the overthrow of his regime is justified because of this. Other's argue that ONLY discovery of WMD'd will justify such action.
  23. I thought now might be a good time to take a sample of opinions of the site members, on the Iraq situation. The question is simple. Given that, as yet, no WMD's have been found, is the coalition's attack on Iraq justified?
  24. As you have probably just read on the news, Rovers have just announced their long awaiting return to Dublin. This time we are playing Bray Wanderers on Wednesday 6th August. Here is some info to help. Bray is a tourist town 21 miles South of Dublin, within easy reach of the DART train sevice from Dublin centre. Currently many airlines offer very very cheap flights to Dublin (especially Ryanair from Leeds and Liverpool) and we expect the many Rovers fans will be staying in Dublin itself rather than Bray (last train between the two seems to be 23:30) to sample Dublin's excellent night life. Bray Wanderers play at "The Carlisle" which looks a similar standard of St. Patricks where Rovers played a couple of years ago and the are know as the Seagulls . They are currently 4th in the Irish 1st Division.
