January transfer window 2020
Bigdoggsteel replied to GunnerRover7's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I meant realistic insofar as it is what might actually happen. True on Lenihan though. Be amazing if he stayed fit for the rest of the season. Another body in would make me feel somewhat less nervous for sure. -
January transfer window 2020

No, he isn't, but could we do better? I suppose it depends on the fee. If we somehow got him for 1.5 million, it would be a snip. -
What about when people nonsensically claimed he didn't want to do well because it put too much expectation on, that it suited him to plod along in midtable for the duration of his contract? "for his pension" I remember one poster wrote. I would say that questioned his character. Did that happen? Please don't ban me

January transfer window 2020

I hope we sign a decent keeper on a permanent, for competition if nothing else. I suspect we might. After that then, Cunningham would be good, but risky with the injury. He wants to stay anyway. Would be happy enough with that. I think it's realistic. -
Swansea City (A) - F*ck it, let's make it five!

I think its great they got spanked at the weekend. An early goal for us, which we are well capable of and their crowd will turn. Even if they score first, they will be nervous. 1-2 Rovers win -
I would say the best we could hope for would be to keep him on loan next season, but being in this division won't help that cause.

I would agree with this, but (there is always a but ) there may not be a huge difference points wise between the 2 outcomes highlighted.

The Godlike Genius of Charlie Mulgrew
Bigdoggsteel replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Lol, this hasn't aged well. Don't worry, you could easily find similar from me around this time too. Wigan fans on Twitter saying Mulgrew needs to be dropped and a defensive mid, whose name I can't recall, needs to start in his place. I think we all saw the issues with him last season and it appears there is no Indian summer. He's not even scoring anymore. -
This is silly. Not every fan would have made the exact changes he made. Can't go and claim unanimous and self-indulgent credit for the fan base now. Case in point, Evans starting. Graham back in the side wouldn't have been everyone's choice either. Rothwell is probably the players whose position is most at risk now too, so should maybe Holtby have started? It's not as black and white as the fans were right and Mowbary was wrong. He has gotten the team firing through a combination of factors.

Wait, are you claiming that the fans deserve credit for Rothwell,Graham, Travis and Bell and Benno being dropped? Lol, that's a stretch! I would add that Rothwell and Travis are currently looking like the weak links, so will fans now be calling for them to be dropped?its funny how some players are absolved of blame so easily. Saw a post yesterday saying that Evan's covered for Travis so much during the game, but what about it. Imagine it was the other way round? I saw a few say mowbray must be on here etc, which is funny ,but I think it's silly to be claiming fans played any real part in Mowbrays selections. Plenty wanted Armstrong dropped, some were saying Graham is too old. It has taken time, but mowbray has gotten there all by himself. If he deserves the flack when we struggle, then some need to get off their high horses and give credit when we are flying it.

But he got us here nonetheless We were all critical, some more than others, now it's time to man up and give credit where it is due. Trying to maintain that he somehow listened to people on here or that hes still a problem, only makes those doing it seem petty and saying anything to save face. I put my hands up,I wanted him out earlier in the season and I have been proven wrong. Still a ways to go,but the signs are positive. All the praise of Tosin, dont forget Mowbray signed him. So defenders were indeed coming. Cunningham was a great signing too, just unlucky with the injury.
