If he wasn't a local lad, he would have been shipped out long, long before he was. His stint as captain last year, when he should have been peaking, shows how limited he is in many, many ways.
Preston have made some great signings from the League of Ireland for absolute peanuts. I don't know why we don't do the same. Daryll Horgan and Sean Maguire would have been great signings for us. Both in the Ireland squad, I would say they got them both for less than €250,000
The video clip of him trying to, I don't actually know, but ending up running the ball out over the touchline last season from about 15 feet from the touchline, sums up his ability. I never saw someone do that in junior football, let alone a professional.
Smallwood is better.
Agreed, that Lowe could have been a decent right back this season. Although he obviously wasn't prepared to take too much of a pay cut
Defenders need to know how to and focus on defending. Alberto Moreno a prime example. The guy should be playing left wing, not left back and it is costing Liverpool. If your full back is constantly getting in positions where he has the chance to go for goal, he is way out of position. The only time it's ok is if you are a team like Man City and you are playing some cannon fodder.
If you run a player into the ground based on the fact that they were a sub against us, completely ignoring the rest of their career, then yes, yes you are wrong.
Fair enough, but lots on here keep saying that Downing was an MK dons reserve as their only reference point to his entire career. It is a very lazy and disingenuous thing to do
A 17 year old who has played in the Premier league, would suggest that the boy has talent. Do you agree or disagree?
See above on Downing for the contract on how some fans ignore certain points to suit their negative running of players into the ground.
Nobody had to react to it. In fact the only reason someone would is if it hit a nerve with them
As I have said, I don't know any of you , therefore I couldn't care less about being proven right or wrong. We are having a conversation/debate
Of course you can't find it..
I said signing a 17 year old who has played in the Premier league is a positive looking signing for a League 1 club. Is that an incorrect thing to say?
Show me that post.
I said signing a 17 year old who has played in the Premier league is a positive looking signing for a League 1 club. How would I know if he is going to be brilliant or not?
When did I say he was going to be a superstar? Show me the post, or otherwise stop misquoting me. You have done it twice now in 3 posts.
Your problem is you are reading other posters responses and not what I actually wrote.
Yes, everyone has opinions, yet it seems some on here can't handle when people question theirs.
Why shouldn't Chaddy ask him a question? I don't see the problem. People make posts for others to respond to them, otherwise they should just get a marker and go and write posts in public toilets!
If people are running players into the ground before seeing them actually play, they shouldn't go into hiding when the player plays well. Simple point, no point scoring.
