  1. Jesus I don't get this poor mouth for players. Mahoney could earn at least 100,000 a year here. That is a very good salary for someone of his age. If he backed himself, he would spend a year here with a promotion related salary increase and actually be a hero. Instead he is going to go to Barnsley. Enough said.
  2. If it was my hometown team, I would live on 75,000 a year for one year to try and help them if they needed me and the manager wanted me to stay. Particularly if I was only 20-21 ,with my entire career in front of me. I'm sure I would manage. Plus ,if Mahoney stayed here he could live with his parents and not have any additional expenses like rent
  3. Torn his heart out, are you having a laugh? He has accomplished very little in football and is being offered a few thousand and pounds a week to stay here, but has decided that he wants to go to a mid/lower championship team for more money. Torn his heart out...comical. Mowbray has also said we are getting compensation if he leaves, so you should probably read up on the subject. I don't even know what you are getting at about him being messed around. Some managers fancy players, others don't. He wasn't even a regular starter under Mowbray and I bet he won't be wherever he ends up. For a "humble guy" it sounds to me like he is a bit sulky and demanding going off what you are saying. Do you know him well?
  4. It is the same for every club. Contracts generally mean nothing to players these days. A friend of mine supports Leeds and he expects 2-3 of their best players to go to wherever Monk ends up. With regards our players, I don't see many top championships coming in for them after the seasons they had last year. Their stock is not high. They might get a little bit more money, but football wise the grass may not be greener. They could end up in another relegation battle. Instead of staying here and being involved with a club that aims to win promotion. They could leave next summer then, more money for them, more money for us and they would probably have more options.
  5. Yes, probably. All driven by the players and their agents. Be great if not, but I don't see what the club can do at the moment
  6. The only one making the wrong decision here is Mahoney and his agent. He could barely nail down a starting place here and never lived up to the expectations some fans had of him. It just shows how much last season stunk that people actually care Mahoney is leaving. The best thing he could have done is stay here a year or two and get some games under his belt at a club where some fans think very highly of him. Now, watch him go somewhere like Preston and repeat the cycle he had here of not being a regular first team starter in a mid table championship club. How much compensation will we get for him?
  7. How do you work out they have a poor record at coaching? Didn't the Under 23s do well last year with Dunn as coach? As for their managerial record, well its irrelevant ,as they aren't managing the team.
  8. I am perfectly entitled to ask the question. He said Senior has a bad CV, so I asked to see it. Pretty easy to skip past my post if you aren't interested.
  9. Do you have a copy of Seniors CV or just a rough outline? Please share it if you do
  10. If Mulgrew and Lenihan do want out, they should reflect on how they too are culpable for last seasons farce. Sounds to me like their agents are in their ears. Standard stuff. At the end of the day, they signed their contracts and need to see them out if we don't want to sell them.
  11. Best show on TV. I haven't watched season 5 yet. Let them build up and going to start this weekend.
  12. So McGregor has come out and said he has signed the contract to fight Mayweather. Could well be grandstanding by McGregor to get Mayweather to sign or just to boost his and the UFCs profile. If it does go ahead I can't see anything other than McGregor getting the ears boxed off him. It's like the world ping pong champion asking Djokovic for a game of tennis.
  13. I would put that down to the players mentality and a hangover from Coyle. Coyle just seemed to breath fear into the players when we had a lead. How many 3-2s did we lose? Mowbray did a great job here.
  14. Ya but kean had a season and a half and made us worse. Mowbray got an instant improvement, granted with a few blips along the way. I will use it as I please
  15. Mowbray did a great job after the mess coyle had gotten us in. Yes, he made some mistakes, but that was always going to happen. It just seemed like when we pulled off a result that would get us out if things, another team had an off day and lost games they would have expected to win against our rivals. Can't fault Mowbray. Another couple of games and we would have been safe.
  16. Very true. If we score a goal in the 90th minute to keep us up, it shouldn't mean that a piece which would be relevant if we didn't score that goal, should be swept under the carpet.
  17. Changing 10 players isn't trying some youngsters, its giving your entire starting 11, minus the keeper, the week off.
  18. Were you not saying Shane Duffy was responsible? Apologies if I mixed you up with someone else
  19. Did Wagner know a fine was likely I wonder? I suppose if they won, there would be no fine. Such a weak punishment. A point or two deduction would actually make managers think twice
  20. Because there would have been uproar from the media if the league title was decided by a team playing their reserves. A manager with morals wouldn't do it.
