  1. What can the sports minister actually do? What would be the best outcome of this meeting?
  2. Playing 1 upfront in a must win game against a team with nothing to play for was a terrible decision.
  3. Tony Mowbray quotes below. Pity we didn't have him all season. We would not be down where we are. “The highs and lows of football are there on your desk every day, that’s why the lows are lower than you can ever imagine and the highs the same, it’s just how you manage your outward emotions and what people see. I can try and keep mine inside but when the things are going well and the team are functioning you can take a lot of pride from the work that you do yet the burden of the defeat falls very heavy because you’re the guy that has done the preparation, the guy that has tried to inspire and the guy that has set the tactics out. “The burden of that weighs heavy, not just because of the football club and your own career but the ladies in the kitchen, the ladies who take the telephone calls, the people around the stadium on matchdays, everyone around the training ground who you work with on a daily basis are very aware of not accumulating enough points this season. “That will impact on a lot of people’s lives so there is a heavy burden. “When I turn that light off at night and it’s just me and my thoughts all I can do is not cut any corners, work as hard as I can, use the knowledge I have had over the last 50 years and try and put that in to practice. “All I can give is everything I’ve got and that’s what I’m doing at the moment and at times that’s at the sacrifice of your own life and family, because I think it’s that important.” I don’t think you switch off. “I have three young children, 12, nine and seven. “They know I’m at Blackburn Rovers but they don’t even ask about our league position, they just ask did we win or did we lose. “I’m a father as well as a football manager, that’s my solace and where I go to to be a normal guy. “The football is all encompassing, it swarms all over you really. “Sometimes you don’t sleep because you’re trying to pick a team, you’re thinking about the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition, you’re thinking about how you’re going to speak to the player you’ve left out who’s been doing well but in this game this is how you believe you should play, because I’m the guy who sits in the office studying the opposition for hour after hour on the players days offs"
  4. A debt that comes relegation from the Premier league, due to their terrible decisions.
  5. Valid point. I should have said scored first in the first half.
  6. Just read an interesting stat there. We haven't opened the scoring at Ewood since October. What the hell is going on there?
  7. Couldn't really complain about that selection.
  8. Part of me would just like to know one way or another at this stage. Its the hope/anticipation that kills you. One minute I think we can do it, the next I think we are gone. Football eh.
  9. It was really just the Barnsley result. I would bet people would have taken 4 points from our last 2 games if offered it beforehand. A point against Reading and Brighton would have been great, but you could not say we expected to get anything. We very nearly did get something mind. Tight margins.
  10. If we win on Saturday, I think we will be ok. I can't see Birmingham beating Villa away on Sunday under that pressure. That will leave them needing to better our result the following week to not go into the last day bottom.
  11. Reading could be bet of the weekend so. if we can beat Forest at home, why shouldn't Reading?
  12. If we win Saturday and they lose Sunday, we will be looking at us playing Villa in the following game where a win for us could relegate them if they fail to win. That is how tight it is.
  13. All we can do is win Saturday and not worry about other teams.
  14. Have to say that is an inspired appointment by Birmingham. I have a bad feeling.
  15. Some of them are playing each other so they all can't win 4 games
  16. I would say Mulgrew and Stokes are on as much as Evans and Guthrie, if not more. If we stay up, there will be a tidying up of the squad, but there is definitely scope there to do that. Some of the high earners are free to go imo. Freeing up the salaries of the likes of Evans, Graham and Lowe will be a good thing if you ask me and will give TM the opportunity to get some hungry players in.
  17. Who are the high earners you speak of? We only signed Stokes and Mulgrew last summer who I would imagine they are amongst our highest earners.
  18. Because if what you said actually did happen, we would have no players left. The squad NEEDS restructuring. Its not a bad thing.
  19. Draw maybe? As long as we win, I don't really mind to be honest.
