Forest are a bigger club than us, with far bigger budgets and he played plenty 1st team games as an 18 year old. How many 18 year olds at any level break into the 1st team these days and play regular like that. He's been an england regualar all all youth levels. The kid can clearly play and has talent, we just havent seen it yet in his brief cameos. Im sure he will come good. But I think most fans deep down know all this. The real issue is we spent 7m on a prospect when the team needed an instant starter and the fallout from that is leading to brereton bearing all the frustration. As a result he's getting far to much stick and now he looks well short of confidence.

I think the emrgence of Travis plus the addition of chapman means we possibly arent as over reliant on DG. With evans and smallwood in the middle and reed out wide, we had no chance of passing through the lines or getting high up the pitch easily. I think we now have the option of playing arma/nutall up top if needed and playing through the lines a bit more on the deck. Wouldnt be ideal but its certainly more doable now

We average 14k fans and are just promoted from league 1. We are competing with teams that get way over double our gate and a good few spending millions of parachute money. The playing feild isnt even close to level and yet we are right amongst it

At the start of the window if I'd have been offered Chapman and kept all out main players, I'd have been very happy. Which is exactly what has happened and yet it somehow feels a let down somehow now

Should be offer him a new deal after a few good games.....definatley not. It shouldnt work like that. However the risk /reward to leaving it reaches a point where you have to take a gamble. The more good games he has, the more teams start sniffing and therefore the more leverage he has when negotiating a deal. The bottom line is the longer we leave it the more confident we are, but the more the deal is going to cost us.

I think a lot of TM's comments are pre meditated and are aimed in a different direction than the interviewer/fans. This is probably a challenge to Chapman to get his head down and work hard as he will be desperate to play

There is to much short trerm thinking in modern football. The shelf life of managers is so short none take long term views on anything I love that TM is confident enough in himself and his position at rovers that a lot of his moves are made with long term thinking of the club and not just short term reaction moves

You can imagine that if he proves himself in next 12 months then he will get a new deal
