  1. Donna Summer - Hot Stuff! Bugger, 3 summers sorry. The Beastie Boys - It's The New Style
  2. I agree with all of this. Douglas I feel is more suited to a left wing back role, perhaps if we elected to play 3 at the back and 5 in midfield, he looks extremely suspect with regards to defensive duties. I'm no fan of Bell but perhaps he deserves another shot. Another option could be switching Williams to left back and partnering Lenihan with Ayala in the middle. Johnson was excellent last Saturday and particularly marshalled the troops well after the red card. Last night he looked jaded and in need of a rest. Remember he tended to blow hot and cold last season, he seams that type of player. Brereton is out for a while I suspect but his energy and involvement have been badly missed. I did hear a whisper that Bradley could possibly be on the bench on Saturday. That would give everyone a lift if true.
  3. Is that not a modern day mindset in general though? Where nobody is permitted to say you've failed for want of running the risk of upsetting them. It's the taking part that matters etc. I personally don't agree with most of it. If you've lost, accept you were second best, learn from it and move on. Failure should be part of a learning curve to improve, sadly it isn't and just accepted.
  4. We built from the back though that season Tyrone, big difference compared with today. If we had that comparable back 4 now plus the defensive ability as a team to protect what we'd already got , we'd be pissing this league with our current midfield and attack armoury.
  5. That's a fair point: I didn't realise that Beckham only played 5 games for Nobbers. For years I'd always been told by Prestonian work colleagues, that he played a full season at least for them and they were totally instrumental in forging his future career. Only recent accolade they can spout about I suppose! Bit like 50,000 on t'Turf every other week if they ever got in The PL.
  6. Norwich next up at Ewood, as the fixtures continue to role on thick and fast. They're currently top, as the top half of the table is starting to look pretty congested as the season develops. Recently suffering from horrendous injuries, they have started to stutter, not least demonstrated better than by a tame loss against Luton. A much win game for me, if we are intent on closing the gap on the leaders. A 4 point return from the last 3 games would be acceptable but should we lose this rubber, 1 point would be a poor return. Will Darragh be back to partner Ayala in the centre of defence or will Williams retain his place after getting a game under his belt after injury at Ashton Gate? How and with who, will we set up in midfield or attack, with several players showing signs of tiredness on Wednesday night?
  7. On another, more positive note, young Harvey Elliott is going to be one hell of a player. In fact he already is and it's hard to believe he's still only 17. One can't help but compare it to the time a young David Beckham was appearing for Nobbers. A future full international in the making, of that I have no doubts.
  8. I never, ever thought I'd be saying this but I think we are missing Brereton terribly. It just goes to show the enormity of his efforts ploughing up and down the left hand side and his general, overall influence on how the team performs. Those criticising Arma's performance, for me he's always offered nothing other than goals and last night his 'range finder' was well and truly off. Overall we probably still deserved at least a point, even with so many players having an off night.
  9. After all the recent accolades, I thought Holtby was absolutely dire tonight. So much so, I had to keep checking if he was still on the park or not. His mind's elsewhere all of a sudden for me.
  10. It's not often I question and vehemently disagree with you Stuart (bit in bold) but I do over this. In fact I'm still uncertain as to whether you're being sarcastic/taking the pi55 or not?! Lenihan has been diabolical this season, a liability and I feel Williams deserves his place in the side (at the expense of Darragh) based upon how he has performed at centre half so far this season. Their forward did well for the goal tonight, good control, swivel turn and finish. Someone doesn't always have to be to blame, if that's what you inferred. Most promotion contenders have to come to Ewood in the second half of the season, let's see how we fare at home against them before we write ourselves off. Beating Norwich on Saturday would be a good start!
  11. You forgot to mention he can't beat the first man with a corner and his general crossing is poor too. All that apart, he's not a bad fullback.
  12. I personally don't think Darragh would have made a hapeth of difference tonight. The damage was done with the cross and the finish was just one of those swivels, hit and hope that sometimes come off. I thought Williams and Ayala did ok in the centre but we were suspect down either flank.
  13. Yeh, I can be a bit of a moaner at times but FFS, some are taking things to a different level. Please get some perspective, we're a decent side and a bloody good 'un in the making but you can't win 'em all.
  14. I was about to say similar, get your chins off the deck boys FFS. It was a fair performance tonight against a top 6 side. We weren't clinical enough in the final third and switched off for their goal. That for me is a summation. In the final analysis, we should really have won but looking at some comments you'd have thought we'd been well and truly dicked, which wasn't the case at all. We've lost, probably deserved at least a point but that's football. We move on and hopefully stuff the Canaries on Saturday. At least I've got some faith and belief at last because for the past 10 years until now, I had neither.
  15. Borrowed a pals Sky Go Log In, happy days. (sorry mrs darrenrover but she tells me Corrie is well worth the watch) πŸ™„πŸ˜‡ Decent first half really, shame Arma didn't just dink his chance over the keeper. We've nowt to fear, keep it tight at the back and kick on further up the pitch with a touch more adventure and inventiveness, and we'll win. COYB!!
  16. You're right, it's audio only because it's on Sky. No way on earth will I subscribe to anything associated with those Jerome Anderson arse lickers. Irrespective, other than an iffy stream, there's no alternative I guess(?)πŸ™help I'm angry as hell and chewing a swarm of wasps but I'll get a few brownie points in and tell my wife I'll sit and watch Corrie with her because it's such a special occasion and just listen to Rovers on Radio Lancs. FFS Rovers, COYB!!
  17. My wife's just asked me are you watching Corrie or Rovers? πŸ™„ Today's our 37th Wedding Anniversary, so as I'm sipping on a glass of Dom Perignon Grand Cru, the answer should have been bloody obvious to the love of my life for so many years: COME ON YOU BLUES!! ps thank feck for a pal's SKY GO Log in, absolute lifesaver. You know who you are. πŸ˜πŸ‘Œ
  18. You too, thanks, enjoyed the 'chat'. Move your cursor to hover to the right of the thumbs up icon, bottom right hand corner and up pops the thumbs up/like button. Let's get into The Robins from the off, aggressive, on the front foot from the first minute and maintain it. Do so, the 3 points will be ours, of that I've no doubt whatsoever. COYB!!
