  1. I may just watch the last 9 holes or so of the final round chaddy. When's that due on, Tuesday afternoon? I'm sure you get my drift though! #boredshitless, #wearetherovers, #andersonshouldbehanged
  2. Fuck me, how shit's Saturday without any sport to occupy us other than racing and women's rugby?! We then have to resort to arguing about Sheffield bloody Wednesday, their squad and the merits of Tony Pulis. Sack off these pointless International breaks and roll on the day when we can attend footie and Ewood in person. #boredfeckingshitless
  3. Yeh I remember a night match at Filbert Street where the eye level was literally the same height as the linesman's boots. I don't recall the score but remembered being dragged to a nightclub in Leicester afterwards, where I bumped into Graham Fenton and Robbie Savage.
  4. He's demonstrated where his true loyalties lie in addition to his priorities. It's apparent neither are with us, as we already suspected. Despite what JHR says, which is a valid point regarding his short pairing with Travis, get shut in Jan when we may be fortunate enough to get a fee.
  5. Dally Duncan, Ray Harford and Mike Newell all loved the place! not! (All managed Luton with Rovers' contacts)
  6. Remember Glenn Keeley, Len Fuccilo, Jimmy Hill and an ice bound Ewood with orange lines!
  7. First game after the international break we face The Hatters at an empty Kenilworth Road. It's the first of a series of 4 away games in the next 6. North End away is on the Tuesday after, with Barnsley and Millwall at home to follow and Brentford and Bristol City away after that. A tough series of games where the aim should surely be a minimum haul of 12 points, starting with 3 here, if we are to have serious aspirations of promotion.
  8. I always remember the mural outside The Emirates that featured a picture of an aggressive looking Martin Keown, fists clenched in front of his body, with the caption apparently addressed at his team mates when going 1 down at Ewood: "We are THE Arsenal!" well, WE ARE THE Rovers. Based on that belief, we should wipe the floor with Luton and their ilk!
  9. Thing is, that's a total turnaround from the past 2 seasons where we struggled against lesser teams but tended to excel against those at the top. TM used to annoyingly big up the teams at the bottom and we often played as if we were frightened to death. He's stopped doing that and we've generally played without fear and put them to the sword. I can't say specifically what the recipe was for beating the better teams but if we recovered it, we'd be a force to be reckoned with.
  10. He may be good at controlling the ball, distributing the ball reasonably well and playing as a kind of sweeper. For me, the jury is still out in terms of whether he's any good as a goalkeeper in the true sense of the word too. He always punches when he should catch and seems slow to get down to low shots. His reflex saves seem ok in terms of tips over the bar. I do think that the general standard of goalkeeping has gone down hill over the years. Once of a day the likes of Pickford wouldn't be considered for England and we used to have a laugh at the standard of foreign goalkeepers. I feel the general standard has diminished and for people of a particular age, such as myself, find it difficult to accept that the modern breed are any good at all. The fact he's better than all our recent number ones, is no particular great achievement.
  11. I wouldn't stretch it to good but they're certainly not crap. I feel they do a decent job though.
  12. A decent, professional showing for me today, nothing more, nothing less. Stand out performers were Brereton and Rothwell, the rest just went about their business efficiently. A 2 week break should see most of our recent absentees fit again. The target should be an absolute minimum of 24 points from the next dozen games, if we've any serious aspirations of promotion. There's not really anybody that we need fear in that series of games.
  13. We'll miss Holtby being the pivot in midfield that's for sure.
