  1. Pleasantly surprised by the line up, increases my expectations on the outcome. Good luck to Scott Wharton, a big game for him. COYB!!
  2. I disagree, Wednesday are bottom and despite their deduction are now only 6 points behind us. You may be right regarding a couple of teams not having enough over a 46 game season but we've said that before and gone down. We're in a tailspin and it needs to stop: MUST win!
  3. I disagree Oldgregg with the not going down expression, the way we've been shaping up recently, we could well do if it continues. Particularly if the squad are of a similar mindset. So yeh, early in the season it may be but it's a must win for me.
  4. Well it's Thursday and we've a 'home' match the day after tomorrow and thought someone had better start a thread. If ever there was a must win game, then surely this is it. Amongst the current state of depression regarding Rovers, I'm struggling to come up with a line up. Some of my distinct memories of games v QPR are Shearer's thunderbolt goal that bounced in after almost breaking the crossbar, Sutties winner at Loftus Road and wondering who that lanky, 6'7" bloke was, with chicken like legs, as he came on as sub at Loftus Road. It was Peter Crouch. Does that annoying QPR supporter in full kit w****r style, still annoy away supporters? As always, COYB and surely we can do enough to turn this lot over.

  7. Little Mi Nah only kidding. Bob Dylan - Like a Rolling Stone
  8. You or I would have seen that cross coming Tyrone and done enough to see it nestle in the back of the net.
  9. I agree Tony. Even though we were effectively battered for 90 mins, rode our luck, defended bravely, £12 million of striking 'talent' both fluffed their lines in a matter of seconds. Ridiculous as it may be, we should have nicked all 3 points in those few seconds. As 'strikers', there have also been many occasions in the past few games from superb crosses in key territory behind the back 4 and in front of the keeper by Elliott, JRC, Nyambe and Brereton, where if someone had gambled it would just have been a tap in. Dare I say it, I'd get Rhodes in and bin Gallagher.
  10. Eh? It's Championship football, not under 14's. Pears is paid as a professional goalkeeper, young or not, the ability to take crosses is a basic goalkeeping skill. He should be standing on 'blockers' achilles and have the confidence to 'shift' them out of the way and command his 6 yard box. The fact he flung himself about a bit, doesn't mask the fact that he's not good enough in my eyes and likely to be a liability.
  11. I'm unsure who's available or not but based on my assumptions, I'd line up as follows: The Greek Nyambe Lenihan Williams Holtby Trybull Dolan Buckley JRC Elliott Brereton I appreciate, it's a tad unconventional but despite our desperate injury situation, I wouldn't include either Evans or Gallagher in my starting eleven. I wouldn't normally go with a back 3 but feel that it suits our players available as long as the wing backs work the line and 2 central midfielders protect the back line, it could potentially work. It's playing a 'false 9' too, which I wouldn't normally suggest. I'm curious as to whether anyone else can suggest, which of our other youngsters could possibly feature, if any. It's imperative we keep it tight at the back, win the midfield battle and offer a goalscoring threat. Despite all, I'll still be paying my tenner and tuning in but in honesty, expect the worst. COYB!!

  13. My thoughts as soon as I saw Armstrong clutching his hamstring midway during the first half on Saturday was get him off. They also went back to similar thoughts with Chapman at Bury I think or possibly Oldham. The point being Mowbray didn't haul either off and we know the results with Chapman. Hopefully Arma won't have similar lasting damage. Ludicrous management on both counts.
  14. Christ rigger, please share your grounds and thoughts for such optimism. If not, where do you get the stuff from that you may be on and how much is it?
  15. £10k a week for you and £5k a week for me, just saying....
  16. How do you think that Morsy would not fit into a 433 formation and why, in your stated opinion, is Morsy not Mowbray's type of player? (Morsy was where this discussion started) IMO, 433 is garbage the way Mowbray plays it, it's why there's little or no protection in front of the back 2. On the odd occasions we win a defensive header, it lands just outside the 'D' and the oncoming opposition midfielder has half an hour to pick his spot. How many times have we seen that? Mowbray will undoubtedly see what he missed tomorrow night!
  17. That says it all chaddy really. It's not about Mowbray, it's about what's best for BRFC.
  18. I'd normally be in agreement with the negative viewpoint regarding Downing. However, this season is different for a host of reasons and Downing did a pretty decent job last term. In fact, he'd have been amongst my top 3 for player of last season. I understand the view of he should have been told to do one because of his alleged demands but circumstances change. Ours certainly has as a consequence of our injury situation, particularly down the left and in central midfield. I feel it's a sensible signing considering the above. On another point, I wished we'd signed Morsy from Wigan. He's always impressed me begrudgingly when in opposition, one to be hated if against but loved if he were to line up for your team.
