  1. I was feeling sick before the game, given how crucial it was. I haven’t greeted the final whistle so much, in a long time. All those clean sheets have given us the platform and one piece of magic can win it. I am delighted for Gallagher, as he needed that and his overall effort made up for last week’s poor one. It’s looking good and bring on Luton. The dream is alive still.
  2. Odds have changed with bookies and now Boro are favorites
  3. Whoever I think of that game, I remember the Orr interview after. I have loved loads of Rovers players over the years, including plenty, who weren’t great players. What Orr said that night, made him become the first Rovers player, I have ever hated. It takes some getting over does that.
  4. It is disturbing that this can happen to a club, especially one who is on the face of it, punching above their weight. It is well documented, what we went through, as have several others. I am no expert on it, but somehow there has to be a way to protect the clubs and if it means repeating the German model (part fan ownership) then that needs to be the way forward. If the Clarets plummet simply due to a greedy foreign speculator, then that simply can't be right.
  5. I have that sickly sort of pre match feeling tonight, not because I think we will lose, it is simply because of how I know I will feel if we do. A point would be fine tonight in my opinion and if we manage a win, I might be up all night having a COVID safe party.
  6. Fair comment that and despite the rivalry, I hate this kind of thing going on, and sincerely hope things are not as bad as the journo is making out.
  7. I have always worried and do still worry that there are people still around, who might either have the owners ear, or still have a silent say in what goes on. History tells us that Coyle, despite trying his best to deny it, came from connections form a certain agent and even the current manager has connections, if you look carefully enough. It is not beyond all possibility that the infection, has not fully cleared yet and we have never been told directly from the owners, exactly what went on and how they feel about being badly advised, if that was indeed the case.
  8. Top V 4th and we have home advantage. So long as we don’t lose, we go second and maintain the gap.
  9. Avoid defeat at all costs in this one. Keeping Boro at arms length is vital, as they are sixth, but 7 points behind us. Another defeat and the negativity will grow, especially amongst the fans. It’s amazing how a nervous crowd can spill over onto the pitch. Keeping it tight for the first half hour could prove to be vital and although we are at home, with BBD and Picking out, playing a counter attacking, away type of style, could be the key.
  10. Not a chance and I don’t say that due to our rivalry. They will go down for certain this year. Owners seem worse than Venky’s and they are horrendous this season.
  11. There is some definite over reaction going on here, which is understandable given the last few years and especially the death spirals. Looking at the bigger picture, the clean sheets and consecutive wins, surely has to allay this to a degree, so let's all calm down and see what the next 6 games bring.
  12. Colin Hendy springs to mind here. We signed him as a centre half, but he was a centre forward initially. Not many were as good as him, once his true position was discovered and I am convinced Centre half is Lenihan's correct position too.
  13. He pops up now and then in between bans I think. I don't go on the site much, as there are far too many clowns, for my liking.
  14. No one has mentioned it, including the guys on the TV but the ball looked like it had gone out to me, before the cross that led to the goal. Did anyone else spot that, or is it me being a bit too biased?
  15. Much as I really want a confidence boosting win, the big thing against Boro, is not to lose. They have a game in hand and are 7 points behind us. Lose and it closes a big gap and will have everyone looking over their shoulders. Everyone including the fans need to do their bit now, as the next two are big and 4 or 6 points from them, will put us very firmly in the driving seat.
  16. That ball before the cross looked out and should have been a goal kick. Poor goal to concede, it loads of time to get back into it.
  17. Spot on and I can't see how some are questioning this one. I have been a critic of certain thing's over the years, but acknowledge when things are done that make perfect sense.
  18. It is a good signing, even though it might be a bit of a gamble. I haven't seen the fee confirmed, but it sounds like £500k there or there abouts. At his age, we can hope he turns into a top player and either starts for us, for years, or we make some big money on him. I guess to question a signing like this, means you question everything the club do, as I for one feel this one is right for us.
  19. I haven't seen him, but heard that he is the dogs do dahs.
  20. Probably one of the reasons why I didn’t see eye to eye with him.
  21. It was our only home defeat that season. They beat us 1-0 and all I remember was Jimmy Mullen breaking his leg and the 9 year old me, think they were the dirtiest team in the world.
  22. What happened to the poster, who started this thread? I didn’t always see eye to eye, but as a regular and interesting poster, I did enjoy some of his comments. Is he okay?
  23. A very hard watch, especially after the red, but I don’t care. Had we been awesome and drew or lost, I would have been a misery guts for the weekend. The defence did its job and to concede one goal in the last 8 games, is just awesome. With the last minute Luton winner, adding the cherry on top, it is a celebration for me tonight.
  24. I am almost sue you once mentioned the original offer Shebby put in for Rhodes was crazily low and I think I am correct in thinking he made a jokey type of threat, about coming after your house if the Rhodes signing didn't work out. Despite some cringe worthy things, I do actually have some fond memories of Shebby and agree, that at the time, he gave us some hope, during some very dark times.
  25. The Morten Gamst Pensioner, is another incident that springs to mind, when I think of Shebby, which was what he blurted out at the meeting at King Georges Hall.
