  1. Dave, I concur.I don't really see any postives from an article of this tone and while I don't mind reading about the issues and seeing them debated on this messageboard, the papers are a different thing.I wonder what the response if any will be from the club(probably ignore it). Florida Rover
  2. I really don't like seeing the national press pick up on this but who knows maybe it will stimulate attendance?
  3. According to this match report Zurab didn't play.I though I read on the offical site in Lee's article today that he was playing.Oh well, hope Philip didn't make the trip for nowt.
  4. Mode M, they did replay it today at lunchtime.(1:00pm-3:00pm est) I don't see any other replays scheduled on fsn though it is listed for tomorrow at 12:00 noon unitl 2:00pm EST on our local fox nfl channel. G'luck Florida Rover
  5. Interesting comments from an arsenal fan with some perspective towards whinger's post match comments.
  6. Jordan, based on this article it appears that only the 3 named clubs(Rovers, everton and 'boro) are competing for that spot and that there can be no further declarations for entry.
  7. Sorry to bring this bad memory who is amoruso back up but did you see he got a headline in this article.Seems he's quite happy to still be getting his pay packet from us and then leave the treatment room to go back to Ibrox for their big game.Presence of Amoruso is apt on night of blunders
  8. Say Philip will you go and see Zurab next week since he's coming to your island paradise in some kind of a tournament?Would love an eyewitness match report you'll have to read down towards the bottom of the article to see the Georgian referenced Florida Rover
  9. Yeah,Ricky makes sense to actually see a goal per minutes played ratio.Where would one go about finding the minutes played for each game is the challenge. Off to search!
  10. RVN 37 apps 23 goals one goal every 1.6 games owen 10 apps 7 goals one goal every 1.4 games henry 26 apps 19 goals one goal every 1.3 games
  11. I believe MH earlier diffused Mokoena's agent who was grumbling about lack of playing time with the usual placations of "He has an important role to play for us"which we all have seen is nonexistant to this point but I wonder if he will begin to bring him in as a late substitute over the next 12 games to pacify him.He would be cheaper than having to go find a new squad player and when we make it to Europe next year he will have his role to play.
  12. Not to mention that Gresko will also be packing his bags. However,I think you sell Mokoena short. He is contracted to us until 2007,I believe.
  13. I would sell Jay for 500k or better if Ipswich would stump up the cash.i just don't believe the lad is ever going to come good for us(yes,i know he has been injured and I haven't seen him play since Souness was in charge) as there seem to be better options for us.However, under JW's new policy of having Academy and young players on small wages be squad players perhaps he is just what they have in mind. Also, looks like Accy clinch going up next weekend to coincide with our victory over arsenal.
  14. In light of all the recent bad press the club store has gotten,I must tell you that I placed an order for some t-shirts and shorts on Feb 14 and they arrived all the way over here in Florida in 3 days with everyting as ordered and no hangups or mistakes. They have a saying over here that a even a blind hog finds a nut every 10 years so maybe this is their one but I have been impressed with the service. 15. Hey Waggy, Just watching a replay of the game and at half time they showed a fellow with his son siting to the left of him that looked alot like you and your lad based on the picture in your signature. Were you there wearing a Rover home top and yourlad have on a black windbreaker with the crest on it?(Some female sat behind wearing a pink zippered jacket with a grey scarf on.)If that was you it is a crystal clear shot an maybe you can get a copy of it if they replay the match there. If that isn't you then,Nevermind as you were Florida Rover
  16. When the summer clearout ocurs, how much off that 500k pound per week will we cut? With Gresko,Amo,possibly Jon Douglas, possibly Gally, possiblt Gray, possibly Dickov and possibly Tugay that would represent close to 100k per week wouldn't you think?Could we replace those with say two 40k per week players and have the same team at a reduced cost?
  17. Just pulling numbers out of the air but apparently alot of our players are on higher wages than we could begin to imagine to make the numbers work for our wage compensation to the players. Florida Rover
  18. What about Gresko and Enkelman?Think they are on more than 20k per week? Florida Rover
  19. This would sell like hotcakes if it were an international code DVD that would work here in the states,in Oz,etc.Any official club DVD on anything Rovers would be snapped up. Florida Rover
  20. Some random observations as I watch the replay here in the States: *In the 2nd minute,Ronaldo fell over like a stack of bricks and no one touched him on the replays(MGP came in behind him but did not touch him) and he whiffed at the ball. *The first Rovers freekick from MGP clearly hit rio's right hand in the box and went unpunished. *Kuqi was not offsides on replay (grudgingly admitted by what I felt like was pro-mufc announcers/commentators.) *Kuqi gives effort but 'tis true his first touch is lacking at times. *Tugay made ahorrible backpass that thankfully came to nowt *Reid made a very sloppy backpass in the 20th minute that Todd save for a mufc corner *Vidic resembles ole gunnar solskjaer in appearance *Keiran richardson is a bad actor going down with minimal contact by Todd in the 25th minute.which leads to: *What a ridiculous booking for Kuqi on the yellow card for encroachment from the wall.He broke like, maybe, a yard off the wall before the kick *cristina is obviously offside on saha's miss to the far post in the 29th min.how 'bout a little help linesman? *MGP is doing agood job helping Mickey shut down cristina on the flank *The drums really come across as a buzzkill on the singing by our lads in the BBE *first goal by Bentley is a skillful tap and what great reaction/reflexes to get that shot off!! *Pitiful how long we hold the lead.Brad made a fine save from rooney's cannonshot and saha is a MILE offside along with cristina as the shot is taken.Should not have counted really *rio is a joke.ha ha ha what a stupid header.Bentley is again at the right place at the right time.nice goal *in the 1st min of stoppage time of the first half ,critina slips and falls of his own accord and then appeals to the lineman?!! ridiculous *There is no doubt AT ALL that the ref was content not to call wes browns handball in the box but he couldn't ignore his linesmans flag which went up instantly! *Neill is a cool customer with that short run up! Halftime My only question for the second half that I have not seen brought up: WHY WASN"T VDS BOOKED FOR LEAVING THE PITCH TO GO INTO THE STAND TO RETRIEVE THE BALL FROM A FAN!!?? Florida Rover
  21. Phillip, Thanks you for taking time to digest these numbers and put them into an understandable format.Based on MH's quotes last week on it being up to the board to decide how far they want Rovers to pursue the climb up the table on a longterm basis,I have a few questions: 1)Do you see anything in these figures that make us an attractive candidate for a takeover or even substantial investment(say 10-15 million pounds per year)? 2)Just thinking about it from a black and white, nuts and bolts perspective, why would anyone want to buy Rovers or make substatial investment?(as there aren't any Rover fans of Uncle Jack's financial stature floating around that we are aware of) 3)If crowds continue to hover at a 20 k average and all other things stay the same would you expect another 5 million pound loss for 3rd year running(or worse b/c FA cup run truncated)? 4) Could that 14 million forgiveness be turned into a transfer kitty for the summer? Florida Rover
  22. Do you mean last year's home fixture with the scum where Saha obviously handed down a ball which Alan Smith scored an equalizer in stoppage tiem against 10 man Rovers?Arrgh, what a bad memory.
  23. The only other nation he could have been poached by was Ghana and by his own admission he wants to play for the US. Here was the quote I was referring to: Two minutes later, Adu touched the ball for the first time, trying to get away from defender Adam Braz. There was contact and Adu tried to take advantage, pretending to be fouled in the penalty area. Mexican referee Benito Archundia didn't buy it and flashed the yellow card. "Hey, I just had to push it a little bit," Adu said. "You go down, and it could go for you or it could go against you. It's one of those things where you put the referee in a tough position typical these days for footballers
  24. Goy his first cap yesterday in a lacklustre nil-nil draw with Canada.Came on in the 81st minute and promptly got a yellow card for diving.you will appreciate his quote in the article. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=356099&cc=5901 Florida Rover
