As the sub heading under this thread was look at the evidence,that is exactly what I have done.We have played 27 matches this year in all competitions through today's match with bolton. There have been eleven(11) shutouts so far.The starting centreback partnerships in 5 of the 11 shutouts has been Todd/Nelsen while Zura/Nelsen has 4 shutouts.(the remaining 2 were Zura/Todd) There have been 8 matches in which one goal has been allowed.Four were the Zura/Nelsen,three were the Todd/Nelsen and one was Zura/Todd. There have been four matches of allowing 2 goals:2 by Todd/Nelsen,1 by Zura/Todd and the finalone a one off pairing of Zura/Lucas Neill There have been 3 matches we have allowed 3 goals:one by Todd/Nelsen,one by Zura Nelsen and one by Todd/Mokoena(wham in the opener) Fianlly we have only allowed 4 goals once and that was against chelsea and it was a Zura/Todd pairing. So here is a recap Todd/Nelsen 11 games=5 shutouts,3 one goal games Zura/Nelsen 9 games=4 shutouts,4 one goal games Zura/Todd 5 games= 2 shut outs,1 one goal game I believe that is the order for me:first choice Todd/Nelsen,2nd Zura/Nelsen and final Zura/Todd. This was the first game I have gotten to see live in some time for Rovers and it was very frustrating.We never had any intelligent final ball.The press will give all the credit to bolton for hanging on with 10 men.Mickey Gray looked confused at times with the ball in the second half in whether to attempt a shot or pass.In fact, that might sum it up nicely in te second half as we seemed to be looking more to pass than shoot in the final third.Too many times of seeking a wide pass in hopes of a cross coming back to where the pass had originated.It seemed the only one willing to shoot form distance was Reid and the ball always has more of a chance for row Z than the back of the net when he pulls the trigger.Right now I am one frustrated Rover fan as we had it all to play for and against a short sided team.Disappointing Rovers! I am just curious about what we would actually do if we did finish 4th.Just play along for a moment:our squad would be considerably thinner due to contract expiryand we would have recieved some dosh for 4th place that would not have expected.Now,would that thinned out squad be capable of competing in Europe plus the normal cup competetions on top of the EPL?How much more depth would be required?How much would MH spend to compete?How much additonal funds would we recieve for competing in the qualifying rounds(i.e how much did Everton get this year for their brief blip of Europe?) Discuss among yerselves!

Here would be a few suggestions for BRISA to take up with the club: 1)Could we have a top 50 or 100 greatest goals ever scored by Rovers DVD? 2)A season review DVD for this year and contiue to provide this annually 3)A collection of the Rovers stars/heros highlights from down through the years(how about using the all time XI as determined by us here on brfcs.com last year as a starting point) 4)The Worthington Cup final in its entirety with highlights of the run up matches from that competition DVD 5)A Full Members Cup final in its entirety DVD By the way,I would request post match interviews and celebrations to be included from these Cup final DVDs 6)A season highlight DVD from the Prem winning season 7)A general history of the club,grounds,managers,Cup successes DVD complete with interviews,snapshots,video when available,etc. These DVDs need to be in a worldwide format that can be used to spread the word and educate the masses on Blackburn Rovers.No more videos from now on DVD only.Heck,maybe even consider branching into podcasting as well.I know there was a time when we were on the cutting edge regarding technology but hose days have long since passed us by.I want to see us at least catch up to the level of DVD.This club has a terrific history which is not really recognized by many fans worldwide other than those who have a desire to know it or the hardcores/anoraks.I would assume this would be a relatively easy endeavour for the club in that they could use the existing video in the vaults somewhere.(Who owns the rights to old highlights? the FA,the club, the BBC?)don't mass produce them.Just make a "test run" to gauge fan interst and if one is found to be a "hit" then sell that one till you can't sell anymore!These would make great gifts for any Rovers fan worldwide.I'm sure these ideas can be improved upon but this is something I would like to see. I don't believe the U.S. have been done any favors with the draw of Italy and Czech.As well, the Ghana contingent represents to me a bit of a mystery other than Essien .I think it rests alot on how the U.S. does in the opener against the Czechs for progression to the next round. Florida Rover
