  1. Moneyball on Sky. Good film for any sports fan, but especially if your a fan of baseball.
  2. Haha I think a few Roverites have been on to him. Latest tweet. And Im not referring to Blackburn
  3. Interesting tweet from Dickson. Ask yourself? Why is everyone leaving or want to leave??? Hhmm
  4. The Millstone is very good. Its always been busy on a Sunday when I have been, saying that I usually go after 6pm. If/When you go again give the Steak and Kidney Pie a try
  5. The new Batman film looks excellent. As said above, I went to watch Avengers Assemble last week, was ok, definitely watch-able. Downey Jr and Ruffalo are the most accomplished of the super hero actors, although I felt the villain was a little bland. I also think that, Scarlett Johansson must of had "must show me from behind in every scene" written into her contract! Its actually hard not to stare during the film! As for TV films, I see Total Recall has been doing the rounds on ITV2-4 recently and is a great film if anyone hasn't seen it before! Stands up pretty well to say it was made 22 years ago!
  6. Anyone been to see Avengers Assemble? Off to see it tonight, hope its good!
  7. Yeah 12 Angry Men is very good. Just updated my list Have seen all but 4 of the top 30 The four are....Schindler's List, Seven Samurai, City of God and Casablanca
  8. Watched The Ides of March yesterday. Thought it was ok, not really what I was expecting to be honest and it never really gets going as much as you'd like it to. One of those films where the trailer oversells the film.
  9. Tiggi's Its being run by Gianfranco who used to run the old restaurant in town during its late 90s heyday. He then moved to the Preston restaurant which is still going strong. If the new place can replicate the atmosphere of the old place had then I'm sure it'll be a hit.
  10. No probs Colin I went with a friend/business colleague and we both enjoyed it. The menu had changed from the last time I visited. We stuck to the set menu (3 courses for £15.95) which given the standard of food is an absolute steal. I had Hake, shoulder of lamb and a sticky toffee pudding. All were brilliant. Its nouveau cuisine, but you feel full at the end of it. The table next to ours had scallops and sole which both looked amazing, but at £13.95 and £10.95 each I suppose they should be. Its certainly worth a visiting, particularly if you are a lover of fine food or simply to try the set menu.
  11. Did you enjoy the Millstone? Off (once again) to the Freemasons at Wiswell tonight.
  12. Hope you like it! Good choice for special occasions like Anniversaries.
  13. Millstone at Mellor, similar prices, but much nicer atmosphere and food.
  14. Did you ever get those shirts sent over?

  15. Its called 'If' by Rudyard Kipling.

I have a copy of it on my bedroom wall, its my favourite.

  16. My apologies! You knew what I meant though! Re The Millstone, I had the fish curry last time out, and it was average but maybe just caught a bad batch. I never see the appeal in having fish and chips at a proper restaurant!
  17. Went in the Freemans in Wiswell this evening with a business contact. Stuck to the set menu, three courses for £15.95. For the standard of food you get its an absolute bargain. (offer runs between 5.00pm - 6.30pm Tues-Thu) That being said I don't think you could go their often, the food is very nouveau cuisine and looked really pricy if you have a steak, meat or any fish off the main menu. My family and I have been going to the Millstone a lot recently and that in my opinion is a better dining experience for half the price. Much more relaxed plus its good honest food. (In particular, the steak and kidney pie and chips is a dream!)
  18. Uncharted 3 out today! The first two are amazing games. That said, I'm probably going to wait 'til Father Christmas delivers it. (Along with Arkham City)
  19. Yeah, gonna watch it tonight. Will report back no doubt
  20. Just bought a film I've been wanting to watch for a while, based on reviews by my mates. The Abyss Hope its good! Can anyone confirm or deny?
  21. Thats the best bit of the film. The glass shatters into literally 3 pieces. I heard they are making a Piranha 2, where they infiltrate a theme park! Basically another Jaws 3 then!
  22. Whizzed through Piranha yesterday (stopping at various points ) and have to say it looked so shockingly bad it may be worth a full watch through. If you de-tach your brain, I'm sure you can enjoy the ride.
  23. Agreed, went once it was lovely. But it never seems open when I go past!
  24. It looked as though Rochina would get 20 minutes or so against Birmingham, but as he was doing his warm up Junior had to come off injured. Similarly Nelsen's injury also used up a potential substitute place. I would expect him to be on the bench again, but come one in the second half provided the situation and injuries permit.
  25. Watched 'The French Connection' last night It felt very dated by modern standards, quite a difficult watch, the sound and picture quality seemed poor and there were long periods of silence, I think a good soundtrack would have helped the story along. Glad I've seen it, but not in a hurry to watch it again.
