Well, transfer window went from a let's wait and see how the new guys do - to an absolute disaster. We were already weak at centre half without selling our most consistent and experienced defender. I appreciate £2.7m for Hyam with only a year left on his contract was in isolation a good deal - but not just before the window closes and not to a league rival.

If the rumoured fees are to be believed - not certain it has been cheap. Totally agree on the gamble bit though - Gestede and VI (and our season) will hinge on whether these gambles pay off or not - as there isn't enough experience in what remains of last year's team to keep us out of trouble if they don't at least partially pay off.

A good win against a virus hit Hull. To me summed what the Championship is about - we took our chances, they missed or we saved theirs. Once ahead we played with great flair and control - but did get the run of the ball at times (if not the referee). So good win, some nice performances and return to form of certain players like Cantwell and Tronstad - but doesn't cover up lack of pace up front or Kagbo going off with his thigh quickly strapped up. But as with the defeats we suffered, it was fine margins - which for once went our way.

With so little Championship experience in key positions - Tronsdat and Hyam still not signed up - it is really an all or bust approach. I struggle to think of a team that has gambled on so many players at the same time. If Gestede and VI pull it off will be remarkable and they will deserve all the plaudits. Even with my blue and white tinted glasses I can't see pigs flying.

I think when it doesn't effect your mood - that is the time to give up.

Trying to look on positives : Tavares, Tyjon, Wharton all had reasonable matches. Axel looked like there may be a player there. The real positive, we don't have to worry about Cup matches as we likely fight relegation. Yet another Venky first- over a hundred years since Bradford beat us at Ewood. They really are the gift that just keeps giving.

Just watching Sky highlights - WBA player basically threw Alebiouse to the ground in the lead up to their goal. Amazed the goal stood.

I wasn't arguing that point. Nobody knows the outcome if we get the penalty. Only thing that is certain - if we had got and scored the penalty it would have been a better second half (it couldn't have been much worse)

I am sorry - if he had picked up a yellow for his first challenge, I would hope he would have reined it in a little. So to say he would have been sent off with a better referee does ignore cause and effect.

Definitely agree with RW and striker needed. Centre mid really depends if Travis and Tronsdat stay or not - if they don't would be really worried
