  1. Would be nice too see our CEO putting in measures to improve long term income - rather than short term fixes like selling the training ground. We need more match day income and commercial income - but everything Waggot does seems to have opposite impact.
  2. Depends whether we can get an agreement he stays at the club till the end of the season.
  3. The worrying thing - I would guess the reason we can't move until the Judges decision - we don't know whether any sales (eg Gallagher) can be reinvested in transfers or are needed to plug a massive hole in our finances (if the judgement goes against us).
  4. Sorry - it is the way I have phrased it - that is what I meant - lol
  5. If he was a gamble signing - with 4 or 5 solid signings to get us out of our current mess - I would actually congratulate the recruitment dept for thinking outside the box. But as with Telovic - fear is that he will be paraded as a maquee signing rather than one for the future - and then no one else will follow.
  6. I think you do point out one very important fact, for those wanting us to go into administration. As well as all those highly paid footballers - who would be released from their contracts anyway - there are also a number of far less well paid staff who rely on the club for their income. Though it does feel like a death from a thousand cuts - having them keep us out of administration is preferable for me - and just cling to the hope that the stars align and either a new Jack Walker comes along or we get into the Premiership (if Coyle can do it - there is always hope 🙂 )
  7. Gotta agree - had huge hopes based on supposed reputation - but getting the basics wrong so many times - surely this was evident when he was being scouted ?
  8. This is the thing I find the strangest - it is basics he is getting wrong time and time again. I was prepared (and expected) the odd error - but it is currently every single match. I have some sympathy for any goalkeeper - as any mistake is magnified - but he needs taking out of the firing line if only to recover his confidence.
  9. This makes sense - why take up wages on a player not even playing - when you can get in two players for the price of one. Personally I would be playing Travis - but if JDT doesn't rate him - then why keep him on the books. The big question is the quality of the players being brought in with the freed up wages.
  10. I agree - but just can't help feel that with the correct investment we could easily creep into top 6.
  11. You are probably right - all I am saying, IMO, if there was ever a time to invest (e.g. Gallagher, Diaz) it is now. We have a set pattern of play, a good manager & some good youngsters. Main things we are missing is a bit more experience, some height in the team and most important a goal scoring striker who can add height and hold up the ball.
  12. Yes - think that was one of Dolans best performances - with some good link up play.
  13. My own thoughts from last night :- 1. Good to see Adam Wharton back in some sort of form - though still got caught out on the odd occasion. Tronstad continues to grow and improve 2. Strangely - thought Szmodics didn't play that well - obviously goal apart. 3. Considering make shift nature of defence - thought they did ok. 4. Best team lost on the night - but I feared that most of the night as we are always vulnerable to a sucker punch from ale-house teams. 5. Referee should really have got to grips with the repeated fouling from PNE. A yellow card for the foul of Moran early in the match (a clear push in the back which put the player in danger) would have set the tone. 6. We are a decent striker away from being half good - with the inability to put in crosses or even corners given the general size of our team is a constant issue. With a decent striker we would have been 1 or 2 up in the first 30 mins - but our inability to take chances always leaves us vulnerable. Though I am not sure Gallagher is the man to score the goals we need - we could have benefited from him playing last night. 7. As depressed as I was at the end - I actually enjoy watching our brand of football - just need to cut out the late goals (or preferably score when on top (22 shots and only 1 goal is nowhere near good enough). Be very interesting to see whether the owners want to see some return on their investment - can't help feeling that if still in touching distance by xmas - we could creep into the top six with the right investment in January.
  14. As much as I liked Ayala, he was injured more than he was fit - given previous history, his role would most likely have been to keep Hyam and Carter company in the treatment room. As for Phillips - he is IMO a bigger miss - but we didn't really have a choice in the matter given his contract position.
  15. I could see Wharton playing the role Bellingham does for England.
  16. Two of my favourite Rovers sides were based on actual wingers who hugged the touchline - one actually won the Premiership. I struggle to think of a team these days that plays with proper wingers - left footers on the left wing etc. Having said all that - amongst the mindless passing about at the back - Rovers have scored some exceptional team goals under JDT.
  17. Starting to get worried now. Yet another match we played ok - but get 0 points. JDT got a job on his hands to keep confidence up.
  18. Agree about the corner - thought the flight of the ball for the cross they scored from would have been difficult for any keeper
  19. Thought 4-1 flattered them - and overall we played well. Obvious issues in defence for their first goal, second was Premiership class, third - yes a penalty but the guy is over 6ft and dives so easily it is untrue, 4th goal pressing to get back in game though thought keeper could have been quicker to close down shot. For all the stick the defence will get - our decision making in the final third was woefull at times - possibly highlighting the lack of a centre forward. Gallagher will get better and better the longer this goes on.
