Wow. Thomas was one of our best players first half.  The stick he's getting is unjust

Quality wise - fair enough. Effort wise - felt like he was half assed both pressing and chasing the ball and i assume that is why he was subbed.

But i can have been judging harshly - no doubt he has more quality/ability out wide than anyone else in our squad

I was earlier than normal last night so had a walk round and bumped into somebody I have known for a long time and who has been employed in the football industry for many years. He told me he had a meeting with Broughton recently and that Broughton now occupies the office that was the managers office under the likes of Hughes, Allardyce and Mowbray. He didn't know where Tomasson's office is now. As they were coming out of the office Tomasson was walking down the corridor and not even a glance was exchanged between Tomasson and Broughton. The guy I was talking to said it was so strange that Broughton didn't introduce him to Tomasson. It also bears out a report in early February that essentially said the relationship between the two had broken down over the failure to bring in players in the positions Tomasson wanted.

Deeply worrying. JDT gone in the summer. Will Broughton bring in a proper replacement or someone he can control

  3. Look at our bench and starting lineup to see where the blame should lie and the deeper issue.

Game is not played in a vacuum - coventry would throw everything at us and the changes were to deal with that. With Sorba, Brereton and Dolan on the pitch we have players to counter-attack. With our bench i think we made the changes available to us

  4. Fair play - they did the job, board made a good appointment (not so clear cut at the time), the admin team did their job and everbody really bought into ”do everything we can” including the players.

Rovers - look and learn ffs even if it is 10 years late. 2 seasons in a row that we have been in a good position in january only to fuck it up. IMO our head coach is the least culpable and i will be surprised if he stays here if there is not a serious change in recruitment policy/routine in early summer

That's my point really we've no excuse not to die trying.

We are looking every bit like we are in for the meak surrender again like last season despite all the 'talk the talk' that comes from players and gaffer.

I knew looking at that team sheet then in the first 5 mins there'd be nothing from that game. It was identical to others although mostly away from home and i'm fuming where is the 'we really want this' attitude ?

Last 10 - right good go - mins of course.

We don't have enough depth or quality but what we are severely lacking is bottle. No excuse for that and look at the others up there, Millwall, Luton, look at the teams on our coat tails now like PNE.

I'm not having it for a min they are better than us they are just applying themselves better.

I would say that we have a more skillfull set of players but the others have more strength (physical and mental), more depth (look at Norwich subs today) and more balls/bottle as you point out.

often i find the phrase “men against boys” springing to mind but many of our players have 100+ senior games behind them 🤔

Odd game aside over the last few months we've been poor yet we know the squad is better than that.  If you want success in this league you simply have to approach games like today the same as Sheffield in the cup, Leicester etc.

Agree with much of what you write but not sure about the bit i highlighted. We know our team can mix it when everyone is fit and in form but our squad is pretty thin and we have few leaders that can drag the rest along when it gets  tough.

JDT is hamstrung but i agree that ”balls to the wall” should have been the tactic today and for coming games

Have to say I'm very disappointed with the reasoning put forward in the appeal. The fact we took it as far as we did made me think there was something in it but all we did was try and argue a pedantic point about the deadline and then give a sob story about staff being in the  wrong place. I felt embarrassed reading the appeal and can't beleive we wasted the legal fees on it.

Would have preferred Broughton came out admitted the cock up and made changes to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Does Broughton actually have that remit or can he only suggest changes to the very people that cocked up?
