  1. I can believe this one. Got all the necessary Venky requirements ticked - British, young, not good enough for a similar standard team in our league etc
  2. It's far fetched I agree, but nothing makes sense with these people. The fact that they're prepared to lose £m's per season for no palpable benefit whatsoever is, for my mind, enough to convince me that it's not that much of a leap to believe they have a puppet within Ewood calling the shots on transfers. Regardless the conclusion is the same; promotion under the current setup is highly unlikely, and without the cash injection that brings were pretty much fucked.
  3. People lie, even Mowbray, he's almost certainly towing the party line and will continue to as he knows that he is as high as he will get in the football pyramid. They've also got the chap over here running things - is it Pasha? Means they're removed from having a vested day to day interest. Annual budgets are probably about as much as they contribute. I'm very much anti-Mowbray but you cannot ignore Venkys role in our transfer business.
  4. I'm very much anti-Mowbray; he's taken us as far as he can and his level is League One in my opinion. You do make a very valid point though, given how Venkys operate, that he'll almost certainly be being told who he can and can't spend money on. Perhaps not specifically but the first two questions will be "which agency?" and "what position?". It'll all likely be run though that clown they've put in charge over here, I forget his name. So the sad reality is that whilst Venkys are here we're stuck with Mowbray, or an equivalent who is prepared to operate in this ridiculous system.
  5. Was it Mowbray's fault that they dismantled a well run Premiership club? We've ended up shopping in the basement bargain bin because of them, Mowbray will always be a symptom of the disease.
  6. I agree, but he knows he's about as high up the football food chain as he is going to get though doesn't he, why would he walk now?
  7. We've got Mowbray because of the pissing owners.
  8. Whilst I 100% believe Mowbray isn't good enough to get us promoted I think he's operating in an almost impossible situation with our owners in regards to transfers. You simply can't ignore them when blaming people for the state of our recruitment.
  9. Can't take anything he says seriously tbh. The guy is utterly furious 100% of the time.
  10. Not the out and out worst but Barry Ferguson was so underwhelming. I remember the summer we signed him and Emerton and all my mates started to pay attention to us/abuse me. Think we beat Wolves 5-1 on the opening day of the season as well, heady days. Didn't know how good I had it at the time ?
  11. You're trouble is going to be equating what Venkys have done to simply 'making mistakes'. It runs far deeper than that. It's appalling mismanagement of a community institution. The debt and level of spend required to keep us going is 100% on their shoulders, so expecting people to be appreciative of them keeping us afloat is naieve at best. Now, any new transfer rumours? ?
  12. Venkys are still very much happening to this club mate. They're the reason we're an absolute shit show.
  13. Given the absolute car crash that has been Venkys reign its hardly surprising people are sceptical of rumours on a message board. Get a grip.
  14. Or he's looked at the previous 8 yrs and made up his own mind?
  15. Is this based on anything in particular?
  16. Oh yeah he was never going anywhere, TM wouldn't have it!
  17. Would be the best transfer business of the summer if we were to offload him.
  18. Good man. Fingers crossed you see some success sooner rather than later, you missed some glorious years!
  19. Jesus you only started supporting us when we had Dann & Hanley?! You poor fucker
  20. He still had an error in him and was very shaky under corners in particular. Says more about the standard of player we've come to expect under Venkys reign more than anything. The thing Mowbray really got wrong for me was not getting in his first or even second choice replacement. He'd been here long enough to understand our budget/wage structure so to miss out on two European keepers and get that clown Walton in was unforgiveable. He also, incorrectly, believed that getting in a taller keeper would solve our problems at the back.
  21. My head is telling me the delay in Venkys giving Mowbray a transfer budget is because of the state of the global economy and the fact they're panicking that they may lose everything Daddy gave them. My heart is saying its because they've looked at what money they've given at Mowbray in the last three years, not liked the lack of progression, and decided to try and bring another manager in. In reality it'll be somewhere in the middle and they'll neither get rid of him or give him any budget - literally the worst thing you could do as our owners this summer. The hate continues.
  22. You're happy with 5% progress? Settling for mediocrity whilst our debt continues to pile up and the single way for it not continue for it to pile up is promotion is frankly, pathetic.
  23. I 100% believe this happens but I still think Coventry is a tough sell. I said a Prem club but actually I think any Championship club in and around us, they'd put the spin on you mention and try and get him out of the door.
