It can't be Diana Ross because she's black, and we all know Souness is a racist. -

In what way is Cole a waste of £7mil. ? Having fired us to a League Cup win, Europe in two successive seasons and saved us from financially disasterous relegation, I'd say it was £7mil. well spent. Whilst losing Cole is a blow, him being one of only a handful in our squad worthy of the tag 'World-class', it is not the end of the World. He is certainly replacable. Working on the assumption that it was Cole who demanded the transfer, there is little the board, or Souness, could have done about it. Admittedly it'd have been good to get some cash for him but in the troubled financial climate the Premiership finds itself in, such aspirations were hardly realistic. One final thing. Ask yourself this; why hasn't a bigger side than Fulham come in for him?

BBC has a quote from Souness regarding Cole: "There has been nothing official on that one. Our position is that Andy has still got a year on his contract."

No...the most shocking part is that somebody rates Dean Saunders

If you like '24', then I reccommend Black Box by Nick Walker. Tremendous.

Why not just sing that song that just went "down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down" (repeated ad infinum) but replace "down" with "Dom". Dom, dom, dom, dom, dom, dom, dom, dom, dom, dom, dom....

Guess Meier must have been bitter 'cos we beat the Swiss 3-0, because that is the worst display by a referee I have seen for many a year. He wasn't the only factor behind our defeat but he's the easiest target. In truth our performance didn't merit a win, losing Rooney was a massive psychological blow and we just retreated into our own half for the next 70-odd minutes. Beckham was, in a word, terrible. How much longer can we carry a player who is only useful for set-pieces? (I'm sure I'll review this statement tomorrow when I've calmed down, but right now it feels good writing it) [through gritted teeth] I hope Portugal win it now. Gutted. Absolutely Gutted.

England 4 - 3 Portugal Gonna be one of those games...I can feel it!

I have a massive grin on my face right now. One reason. Busted - Thunderbirds are Go! Genius

You're joking aren't you? Beckham's penalty was going in exactly the same position as Zidane's. If James had dived that way he may well have saved it. 1) Get video of game 2) Watch both penalties in real time and slowmo. 3) Come back and say you are mistaken. We forgive you. I will do. And when I prove you wrong I shall be back!

I don't think I've ever felt so gutted. Ever. This really hurts. We deserved the win, Silvestre should have been shown the red card (so should James but we wouldn't have been in that position had Silvestre gone), Beckham's penalty was identical to Zidane's - they got lucky, we didn't. Simple as that. I fear things may be broken this evening, something called anger.

I have entered my team (Rovers Barbarians), with a line-up of... Thomas Sorensen (GK), Ferreria (RB), Baumann (CB), Campbell (CB), Laursen (LB), Gerrard (RM), Van Der Vaart (CM), Kallstrom (CM), Pedretti (LM), Verpakovskis (CF) and Rooney (CF). Watch as it finishes bottom!

I think (hope) we'll make the semis; we definitely have the players capable of making it that far, however we have to contend with that English tradition...inconsistency. Beat that and who knows?

I'm hoping we go out with a flourish... so we'll probably draw 0-0! Still gonna predict 3-1 to Rovers. Stead to bag a hat-trick, Lazaridis in reply. -
I do think we should now lock this 'ridiculous' thread. Souness is, and always has been, a terrific manager for us. Lets give him the credit he deserves.

Excellent interview and a top 'keeper.
