  1. Just stuck the new Garbage album Bleed Like Me into the CD player... I like what I hear!
  2. That's tickets for me and three mates bought. None of us are regular attenders (being impoverished students and living a long journey away!) but wouldn't dream of missing this!
  3. Apparently Teamtalk were quoting that tickets had gone on general sale early, but can't seem to find a link. Anyone know?
  4. According to Itv Teletext Dickov has pulled out of the Scotland squad and returned to Blackburn.
  5. I was really, really impressed by Todd, Mokoena and Nelsen tonight. Gerrard, Morientes etc. were vitually anonymous down to them. Reid looked good going forward too, and stuck his boot in where it was needed. Overall, a gritty performance and a deserved point, couldn't have asked for much more than that before the game.
  6. Overjoyed about the result and for Steady! Now I'm dreaming of a mid-table finish and a cup final!
  7. I've been listening to Feeder's new album and, although it's very different to their previous stuff, I'm really impressed. A good, easy-to-listen-to album that's worth a tenner of anybody's money.
  8. Arsenal just taken the lead at St. Mary's. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
  9. Where's Gallacher in that list???
  10. It's worth considering just how much our team from last night cost in comparison with Chelsea's. Freidel - Free Neill - £2mil. Todd - £650,000 Nelson - Free Matteo - Free Emerton - £2.25mil. Mokoena - £300,000 Savage - £3.1mil. Thompson - £2.5mil. Morten Gamst Pedersen - £1.5mil. Dickov - £150,000 That's a grand total of £12.45mil. equivalent to about 1 Arjen Robben.
  11. Not the best of starts... Arjen Robben scores again
  12. That was the most disgraceful piece of sportsmanship since Maradona handled the ball into England's net. He should never play football again. End of. Never been so angry about a refereeing decision before, even the Beattie and Saha incidents were forgiveable, this wasn't. Would like to take my vengeance further but don't think it'd do anyone any good.
  13. Blackburn have had their fair share of Scottish legends: Colin Hendry, Kenny Dalglish... even Graeme Souness! Then there was Kevin Gallacher. A neat and tidy, nippy winger-come-striker, Gallacher was a truely enjoyable player to watch; gave defences the run around on many occasion that I watched him. A hat-trick back in the 96/97 season against Wimbledon was a highlight, particularly when he nicked the ball away from Neil Sullivan, who'd spilled his shot, and poked it into the net. His partnership with Sutton was perhaps not the most prolific, but at least when the two of them were up front you knew there'd be chances and some level of excitement. In fact Gallacher's talent was perhaps more in laying on chances for others than it was taking them. He remains affectionately remembered wherever he played in football, from Dundee to Coventry, Blackburn to Newcastle. Gallacher was a great little player and, for me, rated above Sutton (although I may well be alone in that!) Gallacher was also a very mild-mannered man, from what I remember of his time at Rovers, never got involved in the sort of dodgy escapades that now litter the world of football and are smeared across tabloid front-pages nationwide. I've given my first vote to Shearer, but Gallacher is definitely worthy of the second striker's berth. Then we'd be cooking with GAS.
  14. Ferguson, in today's market, is worth a maximum of £5mil. considering the transfers of Beattie and Morientes for around £6mil. each. Personally I'd take that and see about converting Reid or Thompson to a central midfielder to partner Savage. Failing that Tugay or Flitcroft could probably fill in to the end of the season when a proper replacement can be found.
  15. All Over! Thank God for that!! Dickov the hero again; surely no-one can claim to want to sell him now? BBC saying we were far the better team, starting to feel much more positive about the season since Hughes took charge. Onwards and upwards!
  16. West Brom have equalised too. Richard Dunne O.G.
  17. Palace have equalised. That man Johnson again.
  18. Dreamt last night that we won 1-0, forgotten who scored though.
  19. Exactly what I was saying in the chat room after the game, I can only reiterate the point that den and I have made that we need a centre forward who will score goals. Dickov's a great little player, but we need a goalscorer alongside him to feed off his workrate and movement. Nathan Ellington anyone?
  20. Strikers who can score 10-15 goals are what keep teams up, generally speaking. Crystal Palace would have 6 points less and only scored 8 goals if it wasn't for Andy Johnson. A striker should therefore be our priority in the transfer window, in my opinion. Following that, a commanding centre-half wouldn't go amiss.
  21. Exeter and Yeading must be rubbing their hands with glee! So wanted Exeter to be at home though... By the way, when are these games played?
  22. Wilcox has been one of my favourite players in my time watching Rovers and what really annoys me - and epitomises the England selection process - is how he received so few England caps (if any?) while playing for Rovers, then got transferred from our reserve team to Leeds United and instantly got a call up. I think I'll vote for him too, even though Duff was a fabulous player.
  23. Am gonna go for 1-1, Dickov to score early and Davis to equalise just before half time.
  24. I think there's a desparation to idolise Todd in fear that Amoruso or Matteo may make it back into the team. I agree he made one or two excellent challenges but was poor in the air and played some really dodgy clearances straight up in the air. Maybe I was harsh to give him a 6, but he certainly wasn't superb. Neill I've already indicated had an good game, Ferguson disappeared for long periods and Gallagher was excellent for most of the game but faded.
