  1. I think we'll attract a lot of new exciting talent to our academy after those two success stories. And we've got more coming.
  2. Rookie of the year in the MLS so should be a decent prospect for the Championship. When I see the inflated prices going around, £2.3m really isn't that much these days. Vålerenga asking £4m for Ilic is one example of what clubs expect these days. £25m for Adam should be minimum imo, plus a hefty sell-on.
  3. Sheffield Wednesday potentially beating us to McGuire and Palace signing our biggest talent...? Oh, how the mighty have fallen. We will only sign players trying to stay in the division, not progress. Then they will have to reassess come the summer if we should push for better or just stay as a development club.
  4. Crazy but he actually was crap at one point. I didn’t think he’d make a player myself but more than happy to be proven wrong. Huge fan now. Dolan next on my list 🙂
  5. Think he's so far off the first eleven currently that there's no point. Can imagine he can be a bit lazy in training, judging by his demeanour. Sigurdsson looks poor, not cutting edge there and just a passenger at the moment. Tronstad and Szmodics a class above everyone else on the pitch. JRC took it easy and still played well, S. Wharton and Hyam looked very solid too. Garrett unlucky for their goal but was fairly good I though. Still young and sometimes a bit poorly positioned, just like A. Wharton at times whenever he plays. Dolan busy and good to get him going, Moran busy too and is deceivingly quick, but missing some finesse and goal threat. Gallagher didn't look particularly happy when he scored but clapped when he was subbed off. Good game from him. Can't see who Ayari is supposed to replace from the little I've seen versus Sparta Prague and tonight agains Wrexham. Overall good game and one where it looked like we wanted to make a statement.
  6. It's was in his zone and it was a 50/50 challenge between him and Helik, but still harsh to blame the goal on him as there's a difference between getting beat in a duel and losing your marking. Zonal marking on set pieces never works and I thought JDT was quite stats driven but maybe that's not the case?
  7. He lost the duel with Helik but it was a good header and a difficult player to mark. I just think his presence alone and the way he works the defenders is different to anyone else we have in the squad except maybe Dolan, funnily enough. I agree with everything you posted though, but at this current time I still think he offers our team a lot more than HL unfortunately.
  8. We're a totally different side with SG on the pitch compared to HL. But HL is learning on the job and I think there's a player there, he's improved leaps and bounds in his hold-up play and a more natural goalscorer than Gallagher is. For me it was glaringly obvious what we have missed when Gally started versus Huddersfield and Leonard against WBA. But it's a game of opinions. If Ipswich fork out £2m and Sam doesn't want to sign a new contract (on lower pay I presume) then Yates is a good replacement I think.
  9. What's 'your' strongest eleven currently?
  10. It’s against a League Two side. A £5m signing with one Swedish cap and a regular Iceland international should be up for it I think.
  11. Six days until deadline day. If he's sold we should have replacements lined up. Seems a bit bonkers to let Travis leave so early in the window on a loan deal to a Championship rival.
  12. It's more about fitness than about who warrants a place. We can't afford any more injuries in this one so I would rest a few if I was JDT.
  13. Chrisene was definetely just meant for backup on the left but surprisingly was thrown to the wolves to get his fitness levels up. Fortunately for him, Pickering went off injured so it's looking like he'll get some more gametime. Not too dissimilar to A. Bell from what I've seen so far, a bit more physical and aggressive defensively perhaps - which is good. Ayari will be cheap, no doubt, but think he'll play more here than he did for Coventry, so maybe they're looking at another season long loan for next season if he does well. Think we can benefit from maintaining a good relationshipship with them as they bring in a lot of really good prospects.
  14. Chrisene, JRC, Dolan and Gallagher should all start on Monday, and possibly Sigurdsson and Ayari too. O'Riordan is probably cup tied though.
  15. They don't really play in the same position. Gilsenan likely to go out on loan, but he's good player.
  16. Is the Ennis to Bolton loan deal on hold until Gallagher's situation is sorted?
  17. £15m and then what? Window shuts in a week and there will be negotiations going on until then. It's the same old shite, just different people.
  18. We’ll hardly spend any of it. We never do. Please don’t sell.
  19. By the looks of things it's Dolan rejecting our offers, so that tells you something. He'll be playing in the League One in a season or two if he doesn't stay here.
  20. Only reason to give him a new contract is in order to sell him and spend the money more wisely on a better player. Has hardly developed in those 130 games imho. Blows hot then cold x 5.
  21. Hope you're right. Maybe we're grasping at straws though...
