The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

Don't think Germain would be brought in as a winger. But maybe the Brighton kid instead, and wouldn't mind Rabbi too from Rangers if that deal isn't dead in the water. -

Some Cantwell stats. Compared him to McGregor who was in the team of the year: https://www.sofascore.com/player/compare?leftPlayerId=907070&leftPlayerSeasonId=52588&leftPlayerTournamentId=36&rightPlayerId=97046&rightPlayerSeasonId=52588&rightPlayerTournamentId=36 -

Would think we would look to offload one if Aasgaard joins, just not sure who. Siggy? -

I don't think he's been playing badly at Rangers at all, so the player is already there and Eustace doesn't have to make him one 'again'. The question is how/whether it challenges the dressing room, especially considering he will be earning a lot more than a few of our other regulars. If he doesn't knuckle down in training and in matches it's easy for others to feel frustrated. I think he can work wonders in the pocket with Travis and Tronstad as enforcers behind him, and Mt. Gueye infront of him, with the buzzing Ohashi joining it. Cantwell will provide a lot of chances and chip in with a fair few goals himself if he joins, I'm sure of that. Just need to make sure the balance in the team remains right. Imagine if we could get two quick wingers in as well. -

Think we need another forward who can hold the ball up but Ohashi seems to do that job well and draws a fair few fouls on himself. Think another CM is a must, one that can cover ground and preferably has decent passing range. -

He knows Rulli, who he's competing with, from the Dutch league so will probably try and claim a stake for the #1 spot, but initially yes. Would imagine Marseille forced his wage demands up a notch as well, but who knows. Haven't seen much of de Lange or the Hungarian to pass judgement. -

It's the same pool of players we're shopping in. Wouldn't expect a new Kaminski, but should be an upgrade on Pears at least. We'll see how he fares I guess. I preferred one of the PL names linked myself tbh. -

We don't know what went on behind the scenes, but we're not the most well-oiled operation when it comes to getting deals over the line. -

We received €1m for Wahlstedt. -

Yeah. I think in hindsight letting Kaminski go for peanuts as a gentleman's agreement and letting Luton potentially cash in over double that after one season was total bonkers. -

We had feelers out right, left and centre for GK's. But de Lange ended up going to Marseille anyway, don't think he would've joined us over them if we had matched their bid. -

We're on a pretty strict budget so probably taking a gamble on this position and getting some better outfield players in instead. He seems like a better shot stopper than Pears, and that will help a lot - even if he might be lacking in other areas. We'll find out soon enough, Pears will be between the sticks on Saturday, that's for sure. -

I can agree with you on that one. Strictly maintanence. -

That was always going to be the case. Don’t mind loaning players from them at all. -

But he's not playing there, not for club OR country. He's a poor man's Diouf. -

I'd get rid of Siggy as well. Positionally very weak on the left side and leaves so many openings, as was evident last night. He should learn from Weimann about pressing and back-tracking. Must be a nightmare to be a fullback and have little to no help from the midfielder infront of you. Exposing Pickering to those 1on1's who has so little pace as well is tactically very unsound, and why Hedges is a lot better option for the LM position. -

We can go back to that deal in January. Would imagine Siggy wants to leave in January if he's not starting much. Did himself a disfavour by getting knocked out of the cup last night in that sense. -

If Cantwell wasn't a bad egg, Norwich would welcome him back with open arms. But these are the sort of deals we have to chase - he's a £5m player wrapped in a £500k package solely because of issues not related to his abilities on the pitch. Might be my desperation setting in this... I don't know the full story with Rangers but seems as if there's a bit of a shake-up there so a lot of players leaving. I don't think Cantwell would've been a good fit with a (for him, too demanding) JDT, but Eustace seems like a good man-manager so would boost Cantwell's ego sufficiently for him not to throw his toys out of the pram. Pretty certain we will get a good year out of him anyway, and hopefully many more. -

Only reason to give Dolan a 4-year deal would be to sell him to the highest bidder at the first oppurtunity. So much spinning and turning and almost never plays a simple pass. His passing technique is terrible as well, the only thing he has going for him is his work ethic and once in a while can produce a bit of magic. But his failure rate is extremely high. -

Crazy that it's coming down to the last days of the transfer window to rectify the GK position. It's been glaringly obvious that we needed someone better than Pears and Leo for a long while now. -

Hope we aren't pushing the boat out for him, but he would run laps around Buckley and JRC and might be exactly what we're missing in the pocket.
