  1. Travis on instead of Markanday to help protect Brittain and help run down time. Ennis can’t press for the life of him so we look a lot different with him on. Pickering allows easy crosses that our defenders can’t deal with. Wish we had a battler like Ayala now.
  2. Why is Pickering marking Eaves on corners? Should be Hill vs Morrison and Carter vs Eaves. Wahlstedt looks so poor under a bit of pressure on set plays.
  3. Getting more and more painful watching this team. Mayday. Signings needed.
  4. Different opinions I guess. JDT doesn't seem to adapt as much to the opposition this season, while Mowbray took it one or two steps too far and went too negative. I'd like us to stay on the same course should JDT leave and we're in a relegation scrap, I prefer a bit of energy and enthusiasm about our play instead of ten Duffy's and a goalkeeper. It's the result business though so ultimately that's what I care about the most.
  5. True, supposedly their relationship turned sour at Glimt and that’s the reason, or part of it, that GB left. I put his name up as he’s a good example of someone that should sit among the top of the list. Just maybe not ours, who knows.
  6. You mean change strategy and get someone totally different in that can save ship?
  7. He'll have the same list regardless of how it goes down the day Jon is finished at the club. Broughton is inspired by Liverpool first and foremost, but also by Brentford and how stats-driven they are. My guess is he's a 'modern thinker' when it comes to style of play too, so I'm pretty sure he'll try and emulate some of what has made other clubs so successful in recent years. If we get Big Sam, Sparky or Duncan Ferguson then you know it's Waggott getting into the mix.
  8. Most likely. But top of the list will be more ambitious like Kjetil Knutsen. With regards to JDT and his staff, I wonder how much blame should be put on them for all the injuries we have suffered this season. Especially muscle injuries stem from fatigue and he makes everyone play matches to stay match fit, and is known to demand a lot of his players in training - and of course tactically that we do more pressing and running on the pitch. There's a downside to that too, and maybe seeing as he's still reasonably inexperienced in a 46 game league, Jon might be pushing the group too hard...
  9. Are you suggesting that's how things work now? JDT approves signings, but GB is the facilitator. Recruiting a 'modern' coach with similar ideas to that of JDT (and his ilk) is natural. My answer is yes, of course.
  10. In our current model GB’s role really is key. He’ll have a list of replacements for every position, including JDT’s. The big question each time is how far down the list we have to go before getting our man.
  11. Needs more authority and command the box better. Having to make that many saves, the odd error will occur as well. If we can protect our gk’s a little better, that would be a nice place to start.
  12. I agree. Don’t have that stat. My point was how worrysome the stats are, not how great Leo has done. Third most saves, not played in all games, and second most conceded goals as a team. Dire stuff.
  13. Hyam was awful against Hudds and tonight. Rushed back perhaps?
  14. Looking at it our goals were quite soft too. Mistake from their CH to let Szmodics in on goal and Pickerings shot was not the most difficult to deal with either.
  15. Pears: 9 apps, 1 clean sheet, 30 saves Wahlstedt (before tonight): 20 apps, 4 clean sheets, 68 saves From the official site so that’s probably in all competitions. Third most saves in the league and Leo hasn’t even played in all the games.
  16. Think Garrett warranted a start with his cameos as of late, but would put Travis ahead of him next game. Trav blows too much hot and cold for me, he has good stints and then looks heavy-legged and makes every game into a battle of shithousery.
  17. Check the form table. Crunch game this, time to shut up shop and get some draws away and win the ones at home. JDT's approach this season is more gung-ho compared to last season. He might be too stubborn to change things around now, I don't know.
  18. It's all deja vu from under Mowbray when we were playing slow predictable possession oriented football. It's always difficult when defenders get caught out and have to run towards their own goal. Easy pass over the top and it's a chance. We didn't give away tooooo many chances in the build-up today, but a horrible watch it was. Good night.
  19. Some worrying facts for me are: Wahlstedt has made the third most saves in the league. We have conceded the second most goals in the league; 46 goals in 25 games, an average of 1,84 per game. Only Rotherham have conceded more with 48 so should be an eventful game eh? We have played well and lost in a fair few matches this season but after a while that'll tire out the squad mentally and that's what it looks like we're seeing now. The performance levels are dropping, and the team spirit is really getting tested. Need two good results now in a row against Rotherham and in the FA Cup and hopefully we can get a bit of confidence back.
  20. Semir looked decent, but didn't threaten their goal enough for me. I'll give him and Tronstad 7/10, and everyone else a 5 or less.
  21. A few individual mistakes tonight, incredible that we can't cope with that corner kick from them. Markanday was clearly fouled beforehand too. And we had a big penaly shout... ref was shit, and so were we.
  22. Brittain is good at right midfield but looks shabby at RB.
  23. Rosenior probably watched our game vs. Huddersfield. Same story. Pickering and Hyam are so slow it hurts my eyes to watch the pair of them play on the left side of our defence.
  24. Before this game Wahlstedt had made the third most saves in the division. Tells it all really.
  25. I'd prefer we spend money on player transfers instead of swapping managers. Too soon.
