  1. He wouldn't hand in a transfer request if there wasn't already a club ready to sign him, would he? It's just a formality, and another way to say "I don't care about my loyalty bonus, I just want to go away and play football."
  2. Looks like he suffered a bad injury but made his debut for high-flying Girona this spring. Probably very much in their plans, but the sort of talent that really excites the fans. I remember he tore us to bits.
  3. Here's the other one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jastin_García
  4. The problem with Travis is he has these good spells off games, then looks leggy and gets drawn into stupid shithousery instead of playing ball. Been better these couple of games but watch him fall into his old ways. Also feel he could do more to take charge of games again. Both versus Derby and against Norwich we came out in the second half running around chasing the ball, but not able to do much with it once we won it back. I think he has quality but is far from irreplaceable. At the moment we don’t have many to fill his spot so would be crazy to sell.
  5. He won’t approve but he’ll “get on with it”.
  6. More games, more goals. He scored against us 😄
  7. At the same time we're selling Szmodics for £9m who we 'allegedly' were offering £22k/pw so it's give and take. Waggott also uses installments as an excuse every chance he gets, but all incomings are paid in installments as well. Sure, we do have a problem with generating FCF but we've banked a hell of a lot from sales that a £6m fee shouldn't be totally written off. Don't know who and what we're chasing but we better chase fast and not run up blind alleys - this might just be one, and we're not even sure if we've approached Stansfield's agent or Fulham.
  8. Nixon linking Sheffield Wednesday to Gustavo Puerta now.
  9. He can play across the front and we definitely need more bodies, especially ones with pace. What happens if Gueye is injured; who will hold the ball up?
  10. Gallagher took a pay cut to come here for £5m if I remember correctly. If he wants to play then that might be motivation enough. Probably less than 10% of it happening, but seeing has he's linked at least we get a bit of discussion going.
  11. Probably room for extra wages for marquee signings. Plus he's young so wouldn't think he's on daft wages really.
  12. He'd get a pay-rise at Hull, that's for sure. Don't think he'd mind that himself and he's seen a few of his mates leave, plus there must be pre-existing issues that are still there, and that led up to his January loan move to Ipswich.
  13. We could give Fulham a buyback clause for £25m. @JHRoverI know you're pessimistic an rightfully so. I'll judge our dealings on September 1, and continue to let myself dream more than a little bit in the meantime. 'Defenders are coming', deals made late with no time to replace, only for no replacement to be bought in the next transfer window either. Wish someone would challenge the transfer windows in the court systems tbh. Anyway... we have a good group of players and a manager that knows the importance of having a good dressing room, so they'll make sure we have the right characters in place. Seems a bit counter-productive to usher out Travis in that sense so wonder if that's the work of SW rather than Eustace.
  14. His title is 'Blackburn dream of Stansfield swoop' so guessing it's one of the harder deals to do. Tom Cannon on loan from Leicester an option? Probably a very expensive loan option...
  15. He hasn't been talking nonsense all summer so why would he start now? But hope someone on his Patreon follows up and asks if Stansfield is depending on the courtcase and/or if it's one of the deals that he classifies as 'some harder than others'. @chaddyrovers? https://x.com/reluctantnicko/status/1824417643660562524
  16. Schwäbe looks agile and with quick feet/gets up quickly to make another save. Judging by some Youtube clips.
  17. Big no to Ruddy from me. Krul is injured and hasn't played much the past few years so would definitely prefer Iversen or Schwabe.
  18. We have a good track record with our marquee signings now. Rhodes we made a profit with, same with Arma and Breo could've been sold for a profit but 'we' chose not to. I think Venky's are realising the model is working but my guess is we have to wait for the outcome of the court case. Germain announcement in a day or two, and then we will see... Stansfield came on in the 90th minute on Friday btw.
  19. Could Dolan possibly be off then? Seems we'll be quite stacked in the forward positions all of a sudden, if we bring in both him and Germain.
  20. Stansfield: “I made my Premier League debut as a left winger. But I played right winger and as a number nine throughout my youth career so I’m comfortable playing anywhere across the front four, but I think I can impact the games more as a number 10.”
  21. I think only Gueye and Harry Leonard will be our classic strikers, while the others are more versatile forwards. Stansfield would be a great addition, but think we’ll only reinvest the Szmodics money in full if the court case is successful. If Travis leaves we’re short on the middle of the park, but maybe that means Hull won’t chase Gustavo Puerta. A bit sceptical to letting him leave at this moment but waiting to see who we will replace him with.
  22. Fair enough but I believe a better goalkeeper will help with that. We conceded one on the break from Brittain's error, and another was a beautiful attack when we weren't in balance. The most worrying thing so far is how poor we have looked on set pieces against, that has to be corrected.
  23. They can help see out games and influence from the bench and in the dressing room, as well as in training. Carter went off injured so Batth will probably start the next match.
  24. They will get a fee anyway, just as long as he doesn't move abroad?
