  1. And sometimes a player is more effective in that position. Did you watch Savinho tear Cucurella a new one last weekend?
  2. Some Rangers fans saying he play's the game without a brain. Schalke 04 signed him for a total package upwards to £11m and sold him to Rangers for £4m, now awailable at £2m. Doesn't work for the team but has ability. Could be a good deal if he has the right attitude, and hopefully he fits our profile in that sense.
  3. Especially after how well our Wahlstedt hijacking went.
  4. Going to have a listen now but a bit unprofessional to 'out' his former coach like that. Pretty much common knowledge anyway, but hopefully that means the group is very satisfied with Eustace. Just hope he isn't too nice!
  5. Jubilo Iwata probably want a relatively high fee considering they're fighting against relegation and will most certainly go down if they sell their top scorer. So we'll probably sign him on a free in January instead is my guess. And right now with Gueye and Ohashi we look okay for the striker spot, so it's a case of whether Germain would've played a wide role. Considering a lot of players aren't match fit, we need to get them in the building and going sooner rather than later. Will it panic station again on the final day? Stansfield falls through because of failed paper-work this time?
  6. Waggott is running a ship on low fuel and conserving it as much as he can. Keep it steady and don't burn out until the next asset i sold. It's easy to point fingers but look at some of the other clubs that have passed us how well run they are; Ipswich, Brighton and Brentford are three that spring to mind. Look at Ipswich's broadcasts compared to ours with a studio and interviews and how full of energy their home ground was/is. Shouldn't be impossible for us either. I quite like some of the things Rovers publish on X and YouTube, but we probably don't have the budget or staff for it. Brighton and Brentford have become experts in recruiment and developing players. It's easy to say we want to emulate that, but saying that and wanting that are two different things - we have to reinvest a proper portion of the transfer fees we receive when selling players, and we have to be taken seriously in the market again. There are rumours that some agents hate or don't want to deal with us any longer, and I'm sure that goes for some of the top clubs as well. We're Jekyll & Hyde in that sense and too unpredictable by constantly moving the goal posts.
  7. All transfers are run by the head coach, at least that was the model under JDT and the staffing now isn't too dissimilar. Why would Eustace say no to another Japanese player after watching Ohashi's impact first hand? Baffling.
  8. We've missed a couple of golden oppurtunities to add to our squad and possibly win promotion. This time it might be a case of do or die.
  9. From Eustace's comments, it's seems as if he was talking to McFadzean all summer as well, so guessing he pushed for that one too. For that reason I wouldn't rule out John Fleck signing on a deadline day deal until Christmas either. Ruddy is a big mehhhh for me, he's old and a bit heavy/slow and not good with the ball at his feet, but still better than Pears and someone our other GK's can learn from. We don't need a GK for the longer term right now, we need a better goalkeeper than Pears right now. Dembele was really good against us last season and if JE can get the best out of him, than I trust his judgement. But he'll be a lot more expensive than Germain and we might have to shuffle our target list as we're obviously on a pretty tight budget (again). Clock is ticking...
  10. I like the one-way traffic we have ongoing towards Stoke at the moment. If they think Baker is past it, then we should trust their judgement. 😂
  11. Talk is cheap Waggott. I think you'll see a severe backlash from the fans if you don't back Eustace with some ££££ in the market before the window shuts.
  12. Of course it does. It means we have to hold back on the spending. The big question is: Do Venky's really mind? They don't lose face/honour because it's not their fault, and they have stopped the drain of funds that is Blackburn Rovers for over a year and 'legitametely' telling the club to cut costs and generate its own revenue. This is really bad.
  13. Venky's waiting for their case now as I type. Judgement day. Will probably tap into more cash if they are successful today, so A list will be on (Stansfield?). If not then it's the B list with Germain first in, followed by some low fee/frees and loanees from that are unproven/bigger gambles than others.
  14. He wouldn't hand in a transfer request if there wasn't already a club ready to sign him, would he? It's just a formality, and another way to say "I don't care about my loyalty bonus, I just want to go away and play football."
  15. Looks like he suffered a bad injury but made his debut for high-flying Girona this spring. Probably very much in their plans, but the sort of talent that really excites the fans. I remember he tore us to bits.
  16. Here's the other one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jastin_García
  17. The problem with Travis is he has these good spells off games, then looks leggy and gets drawn into stupid shithousery instead of playing ball. Been better these couple of games but watch him fall into his old ways. Also feel he could do more to take charge of games again. Both versus Derby and against Norwich we came out in the second half running around chasing the ball, but not able to do much with it once we won it back. I think he has quality but is far from irreplaceable. At the moment we don’t have many to fill his spot so would be crazy to sell.
  18. He won’t approve but he’ll “get on with it”.
  19. More games, more goals. He scored against us 😄
  20. At the same time we're selling Szmodics for £9m who we 'allegedly' were offering £22k/pw so it's give and take. Waggott also uses installments as an excuse every chance he gets, but all incomings are paid in installments as well. Sure, we do have a problem with generating FCF but we've banked a hell of a lot from sales that a £6m fee shouldn't be totally written off. Don't know who and what we're chasing but we better chase fast and not run up blind alleys - this might just be one, and we're not even sure if we've approached Stansfield's agent or Fulham.
  21. Nixon linking Sheffield Wednesday to Gustavo Puerta now.
  22. He can play across the front and we definitely need more bodies, especially ones with pace. What happens if Gueye is injured; who will hold the ball up?
  23. Gallagher took a pay cut to come here for £5m if I remember correctly. If he wants to play then that might be motivation enough. Probably less than 10% of it happening, but seeing has he's linked at least we get a bit of discussion going.
  24. Probably room for extra wages for marquee signings. Plus he's young so wouldn't think he's on daft wages really.
