To be fair to the new setup, they were set up way too late. I have a theory (they're usually wrong, but what the heck) that we're making a few stop-gap signings this window if we can't bring in who we want. Then draw down a list of longterm targets and we might see more spending in January as they will have lined up some good players. After our burst of signings, it's been quiet, but a lot of players linked - and quite a few with links to Eustace, Parks or our good old fax machine. Could be it's sensible to listen to Eustace on this one, he knows the players he's after and what we'll get - and also what we're missing. The other targets are more unknowns and often a bit more 'exciting'.

Beck makes sense for LB cover. He's a different player than Pickering and with a lot more pace. Don't mind that one at all. Cantwell is a bit underwhelming. Big risk and seems to a bit of a bad egg. Wouldn't think he's top of the list of 50-60 players.

Weird if they need several days of disagreement before pulling the trigger.

Looks quick and combative. Can cover more ground than Travis and Tronstad, and a good alternative - we don't really need a starter there but someone who can challenge those two. But with injuries to both hamstrings, they might be recurring and not a good sign. Has a fee been mentioned?

Doesn't have bags of pace but can definitely beat his man. Would be a big upgrade on Dolan in any case, and can play across the front. I would prefer to go for someone a bit younger than Dembele considering we're dealing with assets here. Dembele has more tricks up his sleeve and is more proven at this level, but Aasgaard has more room for growth and will easily fetch a good fee if we sell him on. I don't see us spending £3.5m on a League One player, but a deal with add-ons - who knows? If we were going to reinvest a big portion of all the money we have received from player sales the past 12 months, I think we would've made more deals by now.
