  1. Don't know why so many rate Giles so highly on here. Looked the same player for Boro as he did for us when we faced them a little while back. It's good to have a set piece specialist but we need a lot more than that to improve our overall play.
  2. Surely this can only mean we're letting BBD go now reasonably cheap (~£5m)? Then see where we are once the summer transfer window opens. If we can add a striker now as well then that wouldn't be too shabby business in my view.
  3. If it's BBD off now, then they most have scouted a successor for some time. I still think we need a striker and defender.
  4. I'm guessing either Undav or Gelhardt joins before the weekend.
  5. Looks like he's mud running. Doesn't cover enough ground quickly enough for me. Has a good engine, but that's about it. Chooses the backward pass more often than not, and not a leader in the sense that he can dictate the play and tempo of the game. Also concedes too many freekicks due to his limitations, though that's also one of his strengths; knowing when he has to foul.
  6. Would definitely take Adebayo. Prolific last season but not sure what’s up this season with him. Think he’s out of our price range though.
  7. He’s always their best player every time I see them play. Probably pricey and unrealistic though, but plays on the left and would be a good replacement for BBD in my view.
  8. Maybe they're waiting to announce Haikin until they've got at least one more signed.
  9. Pears and Haikin have the same body type. Quite slim and agile, and neither very commanding. Couldn't say that one was better than the other, but think Pears has too many errors in him to make it.
  10. Looks like Gelhardt and Undav are both expensive options, but have a feeling Undav is on lower wages. Could be a case of moving a bit of money from one club to the other by Bloom who owns them both. Not getting my hopes up on either tbh.
  11. JDT's style is to play out from the back, so we need better ball playing defenders.
  12. Carter is too reckless but has a lot of raw attributes. Might become a player down the line.
  13. Didn't realise/remember he came her so 'late'.
  14. Duff? Or would you not rate him as a forward perhaps?
  15. He was a bit 'stiff' and awkard but knew where the goal stood.
  16. James Beattie, who we practically gave away, but 'for 25 years' is still a valid point.
  17. I agree it was a was buying a striker only to stick him on the wing. Gallagher works so hard for the team that when he gets a chance he's huffing and puffing and is less clinical as a result. Problem being he couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo to begin with.
  18. Is Jens Petter Hauge an option? Besides the obvious Bodø/Glimt link, he has fallen from grace after a promising start to his AC Milan career and is now set to be recalled from an unsuccessful loan from his current club Eintracht Frankfurt to Belgian club Gent. He's a quick winger, good one vs one, but if his confidence is shot then he might not be Championship level at the moment. Still only 23 though, and probably not the most expensive loan deal out there.
