  1. I think it was clever business from Rovers tbh. We dodged a bullet. I can't imagine we offered anything above £1m in the summer, and if he had done well £5m for a promising striker wouldn't have been too bad.
  2. I'd say Vetlesen likes to play box to box, but could be deemed as an attacking midfielder as well. That might be the role Rovers are looking to fill as we're struggling to score and create chances at the moment. Hugo is good at pressing and positionally sound, but doesn't like to get stuck in. Agile and good at carrying the ball and can feint both ways. But the price is around £4.5-5m so could it be that we're sounding out targets and if we get the right answers then BBD leaves?
  3. Do you know the names of the other two? Does the information come from multiple sources?
  4. Hugo Vetlesen has been mentioned on here before and I've said previously I rate him higher than the man he replaced; Håkon Evjen. Works hard and would suit our current system well, and enjoys playing in the pocket between midfield and striker. Yes please.
  5. Wharton and Markanday both need(ed) to improve defensively/tactically. Thought Wharton would get a start today though.
  6. BBD will be a case of £15m total down the line if he does well. I don't think it's such a big ask. He's matured into a really good player that works his socks off for this team. If a PL team wants to secure him without too much competition, their chances are better now than come the summer when he'll have more offers.
  7. Kompany just left City a few seasons ago and was captain under Pep so that link is a bit more 'fresh'. Also, JDT is the coach so you should ask why is Broughton not intercepting any of the players returning to Bodø/Glimt?
  8. I would defintely take Khadra back. More than a handful on the counter and with him and Breo in the team they both perform well. We need a LB and a back-up RB, a CM and a striker in my view. JPvH would be awesome at the right price.
  9. Crazy talk. A lot of room for growth in our current squad. He needs more backing in the transfer market and think we’ll see a couple of bodies replaced. Travis and Ayala gone in the summer and BBD now if replacements are lined up.
  10. What about the fourth ref that actually made the call? The referee had a good game.
  11. Disappointing, was set up for a good second half before Buckley’s unprofessionalism. Not a red but what a daft thing to do. Pickering not good enough for this team for me. JRC has been a very good stand-in (never thought I’d say) but Britain poor signing and more injury prone than Nyambe. Need one or two more players with goals in them. Garrett not a player for me. Travis is a poor man’s Richie Smallwood. ultra tight league, anything can happen. Lost a couple of big games lately though.
  12. I think he was dropped initially because he's made silly mistakes all season. Has gotten away with a lot of them... Over-eager tonight and totally out of his depth along with Mola in the first half.
  13. League most important. Disappointing stuff from our captain and Scott Wharton, two of our more experienced players tonight. Hirst looks totally lost.
  14. BBD too important at this stage, so I wouldn't even entertain the idea of him leaving.
  15. We should have gone there and bossed Coventry around, not sit back and let them look like world beaters for the first half an hour. Extremely frustrating. And we know from experience if we don't score first then we lose. We're still second with a depleted squad from last season, but I'll stick my neck out and say Mowbray would have gotten more for his money's worth than what GB and JDT have done. The Championship is more bonkers than ever this season, trying to enjoy that fact.
  16. I think he’ll get found out eventually but we need someone honest and willing to come in as enforcer/protector. Too much backward passes for my liking, frustrated the hell out of me versus Wigan.
  17. Not too dissimilar to last season when we played three at the back. At times last night we defended so low against the mighty Wigan that it was impossible to hit them with any force on the break. Pressing deep inside our own half can't be how JDT wants things, surely?
  18. There's no progress here. Some peculiar approaches to the last couple of away games...really waiting for the opposition to dominate. Probably not the plan but I don't like the look of this side. Travis is overrated deluxe, didn't pass forward once in the first half. Hedges as RWB? LOL! Not quite Johnno as false 9 but.... Smodicz and Dolan are far from the level needed. Like for like replacement. Dack needs a run in this side, better than most of the halfwits donning the blue & white halves at the moment. With all that negativity said, we came out in the second half looking a lot better and took control of the game. I thought finally, we're going to win here, but then Morton made the error. He's only young and will learn, but that's two mistakes in a week from our young loanees costing us. Hirst is definitely not up for it btw.
  19. Rookie striker never scored in the Championship steps up and takes the penalty. Looked shambolic all night, really unconvincing stuff. Nowhere near good enough.
  20. Unchanged side from Tuesday. Should’ve made more changes in the second half on Tuesday to give some of the key players a bit of a rest. Luton better than us at everything today. A really tough place to come to and a draw would’ve been a great result. Need to find some consistency.
  21. Think Luton are there for the taking if we can avoid getting dragged into their ‘style’. Luton 0-3 Rovers
  22. Have you listened to JDT's interviews lately?
