I rate Carter over Ayala at the moment. Younger, more athletic and a much better passer of the ball. A solid team performance, could only ask that we threaten their goal a little more often, despite a few of our regular starters being out for this one. Brittain back in the team gives us a different dimension, I think he should keep Pickering out of the side. Travis has been good since coming back into the side, tonight was possibly his best game of the season. We still need a striker...

Not a fan. Like his workrate and energy and sometimes that's enough in this league, but whenevere I see him, Sam G. and Hedges in the team at the same time, I remind myself not to complain if results don't go our way.

Diaz has played every minute this season it seems. Might be time to rest a couple of games and come back fresher. Just needs a goal to get going again.

Need a striker willing to make the runs into the box. Gallagher looked rusty as hell, created more for Wigan than he did for us. Morton and Smods passing sideways. Travis better than he has been for a long time. JRC looks really good, I was wrong about him. Carter has more intensity carrying the ball forward than Ayala, played well. But we should see Wigan off with ease.

Blocked his pathway, according to GB. Clear pen.

Clear foul that.

'No impact' subs. Really need a goalscoring striker. Vale doesn't get into those positions. Sorba man of the match.

He is being held accountable, and GB did say they followed the same procedures as they have been doing for the last ten years. Meaning nothing has changed but has to change now - and he'll make sure of that. We've been painfully slow to do transfers for a long time. Is that because of our inept administration or because of Venky's demands? -

Support mechanisms is supporting O'Brien by appealing, surely? The part about Brierly makes sense. -

Didn’t catch that. Think the Rochdale deal is going through either way, while O’Brien obviously isn’t. He said Rochdale needs the money to stay afloat, maybe that’s what you mean? -

I support GB. It’s his responsibility but he’s faced the music and after the final decision is made, it’s time to move forward. -

I'm sure this transfer window system could be challenged in the courts again like Bosman did in his time. I don't see a need for it at all, especially with the three-club rule in place also. -

What does the EFL/FA have to gain on such a rigid approach here? "Let a playa play" -

Nicolai Jørgensen would be scraping the bottom of the barrel, surely? He's Danish so one can assume JDT knows him well, but my guess is he has been injury-plaged and is in the stay well clear of bracket. -

At the end of the day we weren't able to attract the ones we were really after, and were probably left with ones that aren't much of an improvement on what we already have (Gallagher). I just hope Gallagher can find some form and start playing more intelligently. Vale I have no time for, needs to be shipped out. -

Can we make it to 300 before there's an announcement? -

Maybe the club camera broke and they had to book a professional photographer, but they are all busy with taking photos of new players at other clubs. Gregg writes long essays when we sign players so probably needs a bit more time. -

I don't know the exact rules, but might have to ensure everything is in order with the FA before announcing anything. I don't care if our new signings are allowed to sleep in as long as they're announced. But if there are one or more players joining alongside O'Brien, then it should have been leaked from the other side so perhaps a loan striker from abroad? -

Think he'll be right pissed off and letting GB and Waggott know what he thinks, but he'll just use what he has. But I'm guessing he's already let GB know which players can improve and the ones that can't by now, so he'll be rightly annoyed that we haven't replaced a few of them. We should have had at least one deal lined up as soon as the window opened. I understand it's a crazy environment, but leaving it this late and scattering for leftovers is borderline criminal.
