  1. I think he loved it here and probably has the belief he can bring us up. If not then time is still on his side and he can make it at PL level in a season or three.
  2. Should have the captain’s armband waiting. Fingers crossed it happens.
  3. I think Bowler prefers the right side as an inverter winger so there would certainly be room for both him and Styles in the team - especially if BBD leaves.
  4. I agree, though it will probably drag on but GB will have a sense of it’s likelihood a long time before the window shuts.
  5. Bowler would be a great addition at £3m, that’s for sure. Malmö won’t be selling cheap until their CL fate is decided.
  6. Morton deal can probably be revisited in a week or two.
  7. 1 - Schmeicel 2 - Cafu 3 - Tugay 4 - Berg 5 - Tugay 6 - Sammer 7 - Ripley 8 - Dunn 9 - Shearer 10 - Jansen 11 - Duff
  8. @glen9mullanthank you for sharing, much appreciated! Did you ask any further question regarding BBD and his contract situation? A £7m investment worth double now going down the drain makes little business sense, as was the case with Lenihan, Nyambe and Rothwell too.
  9. It'll be interesting to see. LWB under JDT will be very attack-minded so could be there. Pickering is a weak spot in our team and needs replacing as he's not dynamic enough for the high-intensity style of play in my view. Styles wouldn't replace Brereton so it's either LWB or LCM is my guess.
  10. Are you being serious? We've been crying out loud for signings for 290+ pages and now we don't know if they'll make the team?
  11. Fair enough. But fewer fish in the pond with the same amount of fishermen. For example the likes of Brentford would have struggled to bring in a lot of the players that led to them being successful. A greater advantage to the teams with PL parachute money than ever before imo.
  12. It’s a tough market to play the game SW and GB wants to. Pre Brexit would’ve been a lot easier…
  13. How much money did Wag earn during this meeting? Worth every penny.
  14. If two players willing to sign new deals leave on a free and you fail to sign anyone other than a PNE cast-off, then the parameters set are obviously too rigid.
  15. That's not his best position. He's a utility player but shouldn't be brought in as RWB.
  16. He can play central defender as well, especially as one of a back three. He’s better than Edun, Pickering, JRC and about the same level (or better) as Wharton for me.
  17. It won’t cost much to tie Nyambe to a new deal. Finding a replacement for the same amount of money will be almost impossible. He has an impeccable track record here, but to be fair he needs to improve in the final (attacking) third. Wigan would be a real blow.
  18. The question is why haven’t we signed anyone yet. You’re not interested in knowing why, or do you not expect an honest reply?
  19. Think he has his hands full. A lot of stuff to learn, positions to fill, and players to recruit. A short interview with the local press to reassure the fans wouldn’t be such a bad idea, however. People can take it as a positive that there aren’t many players linked, but for the time being nothing is happening. One can wonder why…
  20. He keeps getting asked because Broughton has said he won’t give any interviews on the matter until the transfer window is shut.
  21. It’s a bit selfish of Broughton to let JDT answer all the questions regarding transfers, knowing it’s not JDT’s responsibility to recruit. The fans want to know why we haven’t signed anyone yet.
  22. Ok, thanks for clarifying. No big rush then, but a bit surprising there aren’t more suitors.
  23. Voulet-vous? We pay him until August 1, correct?
