  1. Jason arrives to sign on at his new Club. The clue is that he's wearing a flat cap.
  2. Different times but when I was a kid I grew up watching cricket on the BBC. If Sky had been around my parents could not have afforded it. During summer school hols I would watch a full days play in a Test match and then play it for hours with mates until it got too dark. That was when I was young, later from about 14 had to work in the hols. I've not been impressed with the crowds at the ICC ODIs so far, England apart. Lack of interest, too expensive and on tv factors no doubt but if a 15,000 crowd can't be achieved it's a poor do. At one game at the SWALEC the crowd as embarassingly small. WC 2019 are talking of filling London Stadium twice, it will have to be an England game or India v Palistan to achieve that.
  3. Thanks to all involved in getting the Podcasts back, much appreciated. A good one to start with with an interesting range of speakers and topics. I look forward to the next one. COYB
  4. Really glad the show was so good and all safe and wish I could have been there. I suspect the organisation was down to Elton's experts expertise ably assisted by the real unsung hero 'workers' of Ewood and not the Chestons sort.
  5. I watched both, had 2 screens on but put audio commentary on the Cricket and I did follow that more closely. I could sit and watch cricket all day but the passion for footy has decreased. Over paid and pampered players, too much football on tv, too much playacting/ cheating, too much blatant corruption have all taken their toll. With Cricket I can enjoy great performances by all players. It's exciting yet oddly soothing.
  6. Glad to get my prediction wrong and well done Sri Lanka. If they can continue batting through the order and not run themselves out they are a threat to anyone. Very impressed with Gunathilaka and always by Matthews. The contest is getting better but must say suprised with so many empty seats.
  7. Excellent result by England. Pleased Venezuela got through. Conceeded a dodgy pen but scored a cracker free kick at 90+ a bit. Good final coming up.
  8. Australia and South Africa now both at risk of an early exit. India v Sri Lanka today should be a good one but I take India to win. Should England stick with Roy? I am getting tired of losing a wicket early but probably would. If we bat well throughout the order we can beat anyone. Root is superb. England bowlers v NZ were spot on. The Edgbaston and Cardiff attendances on tv look disappointing.
  9. Great work DE. It's like reading a Stephen King novel for the second time. You think you remember the story line and know you will be scared but just forgot by how much. On second reading little sub plots emerge and you can try to piece together the story but wtf was Pennywise.
  10. Isn't the objective of the concert to downgrade the pitch to L1 standard at no cost? Well actually at a profit. Some clever beggars at Ewood these days.
  11. Ex Toon player Cheick Tiote dies at training in China aged just 30. RIP Cheick http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/40163322
  12. Did a certain 'Agent' have any links to Ali Sayed or Saurin Shah? At one time Companies House did have an address for AS in Colchester, Essex. http://www.bbc.com/news/business-11163004 Just thinking about these parties previous interest in Rovers and invisible stakeholders and looking for any links. I find myself reading DE's reports over and over and it is clear who was controlling everything at Rovers from day 1 until xxxxx.....fill in a date that fits I suppose
  13. All very interesting and naturally fans of all clubs will claim how important it is to develop youth. Truth though is that a huge % of fans of all clubs have not watched a youth game in their lives. To them what matters is what the FIRST team do, and not much else.
  14. It's just another piece of joint Rovers & LT positive spin propoganda and there's been a lot since relegation. Bulls-hit extraordinaire.
  15. Great work and detail. I had forgotten how Dennis Irwin shoed up at Ewood. 'Myles Anderson.....the future' I had a senior person funny turn when I read that
  16. What's the latest on the bean counters? Cheston still got a job? There has been so much positive spin this seems forgotten.
  17. Is he playing fiddle in Elton's backing band ? Or the flower arrangements?
  18. I don't blame any of them if they want out. Players and their agents will look for the best deal for them not what's best for the basketcase Rovers. The club is still is freefall despite it's drive this week to go positive spin. Just trying to push corporate and ST sales before reality bites. It will when the overview results come in.
  19. He is still very much at the start of his career development and shows good promise. My point is that Rovers have managed the situation badly and now Mahoney can just walk with chicken feed as compo coming back to Rovers. I mean the fat gits party fund.
  20. Spot on. It is going to be repetitive and depressing. Thank goodness the Cricket is back.
  21. Mahoney is still just 20. He can develop in many ways good and also bad. The fault is at Rovers for not getting him signed to a longer contract a year or so ago. We spend a fortune on the likes of Stokes but penny pinch on Mahoney and will now get sfa.
  22. This story is at least a month old and just recycled by lazy journos at the LT. Strike one in the new age of Rao spending is against them, what a suprise. Mowbray has a lot to learn about the Raos.
  23. Crap game. Watched the first half and went to bed. Mind you it was 3am. Man U play hoofball to a lone runner. Boring boring crap. I wish I had stayed with the Cricket. Saw all of England's innings before the footy. Man U and the media are ejaculating over winning 2 Cups they would have laughed at under Ferguson.
  24. Thx. That needs tracking if TM ever gets to the stage of bringing players in. Conflict if Senior had stayed?
