  1. den a sensible answer. So this HD LIVE SPORT is how good?
  2. Ill be in the station. why change a habit of a lifetime. beers good
  3. Half of Englands pubs have LCS/PLasma TV's with HD Ready on them. But which if any pubs in Blackburn are showing the broadcasts in HD. Ive just returned from Crete where all matches are being shown on BIG LCD/Plasma or Projector. Not a single picture was as clear as my 28" 100 hz Sony WEGA CRT. I would like to see what I am missing with not having HD....So if any of you know of any true HD presentations in Blackburn I would appreciate you posting them before tonights kick off. Thank you Ps the beer has to be good too...
  4. Couldnt agree more! Not wanting to blow my own trumpet but, I was a very footballer who matured at 16 /17 and not 12 /13. Everyone i played against in secondary school seemed like a man. when it comes to town team etc.....you dont stand a chance. Even now in Sunday league, you see very few skills and lots of brute force and athletisim, we dont learn. take that to the lower divisions, and what do you see..not much better than sunday league. Is it the same on the continant or south america ???
  5. Maybe it is an impression I already gained from the British media. I cant help the deflated feeling in hearing McLaren has the job. I am dissapointed and at the moment it has tainted my enthusiasm for this world cup. personal opinion, person feelings...shared with you all
  6. still 1 -0 o spuds..........................
  7. Liverpool FC didnt consider the fixture inappropriate, all those fans dont think standing is inappropriate. Infact the only people who harp on about Hillsborough as the scallies who have yet to sort out their compensation claims...
  8. I dont believe Blackburn has the "people" that other Permiership clubs have to draw upon for the new football experience. My personal enjoyment in football remains unchanged....Massive release of emotion, passion and feeling.... If i expressed that feeling inforont of plod or a steward , id be arrested....(thats for another thread). but it makes me feel 90% as good screeming at a TV..and 95% a good if its in the local. So when i can afoord I go, If not, pub, ... ( if on sky I get invited to the girlfriends parents, duty calls! )
  9. Eddie, it may be wishful thinking. Born out of desperation. Reading this thread, may point out therelative cost of football to their homelives ( wages ). I cant afford it anymore, Sorry BRFC, I ant big enough, rich enough to follow football in my home town. RIP
  10. The relative wealth of the top clubs has attracted "LARGE" investment, Sky charge UK a high price for live fooball. Who takes the money.ooh that would be players, agents, etc etc....millions. The best players attracted to the millions......well if the millions arent in the game anymore cuase sky cant charge a premium. the whole "cost" of football comes down. Cost comes down , prices at turnstiles " sorry box office " come down...... this equals more fans at the stadium... also less differential between BIG clubs and Town Clubs...
  11. "Very bad news!! I cant believe so many people on here are happy with the decision. " Hughesy....... Read why some may think its a good thing....not all about staying in the pub.
  12. Excellent! This will take billions out of the game......this means the likes of Glazier and the mancs will not have such a large commercial advatage over smaller clubs...cause the money wont be there!!!!! Ah AHH!!
  13. " for one could not say i would have gone to as many rovers game's if it was a choice off rovers or the pub in my 20's " good point waggy. You would never have got me out of Toffs door on a Saturday afternoon ( 1980's), if I could have watched the football and the girls.......
  14. please post highlight of his comments....( not seen any reports ).
  15. Rio Rio whats the score, Rio whats the score?. ....could tell he would turn out to be a *anker. Went to manure and proved me right!
  16. "Elton Welsby your a *anker, your a *anker, Elton Welsby . . . ....." classic chant, heard many a time on Granada tea time sports coverage. Foret goal celebrations its..."Elton Welsby your a *anker, your a *anker, Elton Welsby . . . ....."
  17. Lets see what the world cup brings...sure that the Permiership will be flooded by players in the limelight of the world stage....If we dont benefit from them , then maybe we will from clubs offloading to bring the "new" superstars in...
  18. Would I be right in thinking that there are many compensation claims and legal wranglings to be sorted from that tragic day? I was suggested by a liverpool fan I know well that keeping the issues in the front of the news is doing noting to harm claims.... I have to say whwn I heard that liverpool fans wanted the game moving, that was my first thought. If Liverpool the club cared that much wouldn't they have a embargo on that day for ever?
  19. In my opinion this is even more important than the result Comletely agree. I know of many ex-attendees who now feel that just the process of aquiring a ticket of any game is too much.....granted these people were born BC ( before computers ). Alot of rovers fans who used to attend are infirm or dead, many other wont go cause thay cant hand over money at the turnstile. its true, go talk to the old gits in the pubs...they will tell you.
  20. For anyone without a ticket who wants one! Worth ringing the club to see if any of the £80 executive tickets remain!
  21. "fairweather supporters", Definition: supporters that cant justify the spiraling costs of attending matches with the enjoyment of spending their 'hard earned' on something/anything else.
  22. keeps this topic going for a little longer........ Anyone know the topic with the largerst number of views on this board?
  23. I used to like TalkSport but listening to their voices this afternoon I am becomming very annoyed. Radio 2 for me from now on. ( after the conference )
  24. Can anyone else see the resemblemce between Dick Advocaat and John ( fatty 2 Jags ) Prescott? For this reason alone I hope he fluffs his interview.
