Right on cue, on the official site OK, who's going to have the first moan ?!
-
Be fair on him philip It's coming up to the time of year for his post red card annual skive to Dubai You know, the one where he shows how bothered he is about his team mates and the club who pay his wages

Saturday was the lowest league crowd at Ewood Park since Rovers were promoted back up from the Nationwide, with one exception (Mon 20.10.2003 v Charlton, on Sky). And this on the day Mark Hughes made his managerial debut. Going from some of the (questionable) theories for crowd decline posted on this board, one would have expected that alone to have put 2,000 anti-Souness deserters back through the gate - even if it was just for the one game. Or does the club simply have to accept that the level of support is returning to the pre-Jack Walker hard core (still ok for a town this size) and that all their efforts trying to swell the gate are a waste of time.

If the last couple of seasons you've found it a chore going to cup games - does that include the run to the semi-final v Man Utd as holders of the league cup ? A chore ?? Season before last ?? Flippin eck I know almost every single thread on this board is turning into a slag-off Souness fest but let's have a reality check. And many posts on this thread WANT Hughes to put out a load of fringe players on Wedesday night - if Souness does that it's called not taking the cup seriously. And - for the record - the day Mark Hughes is asked the direct question "what's the priority, survival in the premier league or a cup run" what the flip do people think he's going to reply ????

An option for people who are driving is to avoid London completely and spin round the M25 to Dartford, which has a half hourly train service to Charlton taking about 15 minutes. From Central London trains are from CHARING Cross (CaptainK) and also call at Waterloo East and London Bridge, which is on the Jubilee and Northern lines. This links to a PDF timetable showing all trains to and from Charlton / Central London / Dartford

As AndyC said, the board will be interviewing all three candidates on their shortlist - no doubt all the points Andy raised will crop up and many more besides. Based on the results of those interviews they'll then make a choice in the best interests of the club. In the meantime, bbc i, the s*n, sky sports news, mark hughes' agent, betfair bob and billy the fish can all speculate, release statements, release counter statements, change the odds and recite Homer's Odyssey from the top of Pendle Hill for all I care. Beyond knowing who is / was on the shortlist - which Glenn posted correctly on Sunday night - no-one outside those conducting the interviews knows diddly sh!te about which one of the three is gonna get the job.

So he has !!!!! It's on page 3, paragraph 2. Silly John Williams, what's he doing ? Tell you what, let's get £250 k out of site funds, then WE can speak to Hughes and ask him why Williams isn't speaking to him yet.

Tempted to slap a monkey on George Gavin. Glasgow kisser sent down to Coulterfanny (MAP)

Just back from the bookies ... managed to get Strachan still at 10-1 btw I notice most of the online sites have taken the "next Rovers manager" off the site, and even in the shop they didn't have the odds readily available - they had to ring up for them
-
He didn't finish his sentence. Under his breath he continued "because I'm gonna call them just as soon as I finish this press conference"
-
Judging by how this thread's going I reckon about another 26 pages.
-
That settles it then! Whilst I like Gray, he doesn't have the experience that I'd want in our next manager. His job at Sky is safe - he doesn't need to take a risk on failing as a manager now. Plus, what's to stop him bringing in Richard Keys with him as part of his backroom staff. He could even bring in that dickheed Rodney Marsh. No no no.
-
The comment on SSN says Blackburn have confirmed a shortlist of 3. On the official site, the statement from John Williams says there's "a short list" - no mention of how many names may be on it.

No, tiswas were a band. And the Express is still full of sh!te
-
You're making things worse ... ... ...
-
Well it's either Uncle Warburton's hair stylist or the Daily Express. They're never wrong you know
-
Now I can see how you manage to post so much crap

Paul - bums on seats are extremely important. Souness (at Rovers) is the most successful manager in the Premier League over the last four years, bar the managers of Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea. And still the Blackburn "paying public" deserted in their droves. Whoever the new manager is, that person has almost no chance of bettering Souness' record at Rovers in the same timescale, if at all. So what will you be saying 4 years from now ? Will it still be Souey's fault ??????????
-
Come on fella You've been on here long enough to know how jim gets his kicks in life ... I can't beleive it's up to 2 pages (or that I'm helping it towards 3)
-
One of them's a Radio 1 DJ, don't recognise the other one.
-
For info on the trust / relationship with club etc, you won't get much more "public" info than can be read in these three LET pieces (the second of which is an interview with Paul Egerton-Vernon). LET Sept 2000 LET Jan 2001 LET Dec 2003 (re Jersey trust towards the bottom of the page)

Lee Carsley, and 3.375 million pounds. Just a thought ... With Bryan Kidd as first team coach perhaps ??

[Archived] Souness Goes To Newcastle
Tris replied to Brownie's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Gallagher has issues which he needs to address if he's going to fulfill his potential and it's clear Souness pointed this out - wrongly or rightly there was even a very muted warning in public. Maybe that's a falling out, it isn't in my book. "Reliable sources" may well have wanted to make sure it was portrayed as yet another "falling out" for obvious reasons. What was annoying - less so now Souness has gone - is that anything like this was portrayed as Souness' fault. It's a long list of culprits - Dunn, Cole, Yorke, Todd, Flitcroft, etc etc, and every single one of them was guilty of failing the club. How some people on here can want to see Todd back in the shirt is beyond me. He refused to wear it FFS! I don't care who the manager is or what the circumstances were, he let the club and the fans down and should never wear the shirt again. Anyway, what's in the past is there to stay now, whoever comes in will make their own judgements and everyone will start with a clean slate. Back to Gally, I'm sure he'll get his chance like everyone else, and hopefully as he gets a bit older there will be a bit more common sense off the pitch as well. -
Watch his odds take a tumble .... I'm sure most of the guests currently on this site are from the bookies, and that this messageboard is in fact a major driver of the wildly fluctuating odds
